The whole idea of this investigation is to check if any other asteroid pairs are as powerful as Shiva/Parvati or Rudra/Kaali. I have an inkling that Mahaingam is a significant asteroid. Or it could be particularly relevant for kundalini in synastry. Pity 2026 is such a long way ahead. Very interesting observation though and very likely as you suggest. It would be the unification of male and female energies. Barbara Hand Clow said that a true kundalini connection is the result of the union of positive and negative electrical energies. The feminine principal receives and is negative whilst the main principal projects and is positive - Tara and Mahalingam! Perhaps someone else could add their thoughts on progressions here. Mahalingam appears to have two meanings. Some believe that it represents a phallic symbol, basically a potent force (very trantra related in that case). Whilst early Hindu texts ascribe greater meanings to it. See this contribution by IQ: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/003002.html Mahalingam is conjunct planets in charts of some very good, inspiring people, which seems to place it in the same category as other Vedic gods. ps. I started this thread at a super busy time for me!! Am gradually collating data and will post later.
Interesting my Mahalingam conjuncts my moon by a little under three orbs and Tara by sign. My moon rules my 8th. I am noticing a theme in my chart that I hadn't realized before.. I have venus/mars in leo opposite BML in aquarius and this opposition squares asteroid chariklo which is the wife of chiron forming a tsquare: "The wife of Chiron probably functioned as a sacred prostitute in the matriarchal temples." Chariklo: In Greek myth, Chariklo was the wife of Chiron. She offers relief from the dictates of patriarchy, through the safeguarding of sacred sexuality. Chariklo can represent balanced, active feminine expression, however she also serves in protection of social boundaries including those that are transgender or sexual in nature. The polarization of woman into virgin or wh*re that characterizes many cultures, can be left behind for mature, self-fulfilled, maternal yet sexually active womanhood. As expressed by astrologer Philip Sedgwick, Chariklo is all about learning to maintain two important personal boundaries; one that would promote quality relations with other people and another that protects personal, sacred space, namely the enclosure of your own spirituality and individuality. http://www.mysticmarguerite.com/WebDocs/Texts/Asteroids.html My venus/mars trine neptune and sextile pluto. My moon rules my 8th as well and is also part of a tsquare. In fact psyche opposes chariklo exact so if we add asteroid psyche I have a GRAND CROSS involving venus/mars opposite BML squaring on one side Chariklo and on the other Psyche. IP: Logged |

So far, for 10 people, the top 5 most common pairings listed in order of frequency are as follows: Rudra/Kaali - 8 Mahalingam/Kaali and Rudra/Tara - 6 each Raman/Sita - 5 (all of these were trines or sextiles) Many at 4 - Siva/Parvati, Shiva/Kaali, Mahalingam/Parvati, Shankar/Kaali, Shankar/Sati What is interesting is to see that Mahalingam/Kaali featured amongst the top 3. This pairing alone could be investigated - e.g., did Mahalingam form close aspects for those who had experienced a Kundlalini rise through the relationship? I am beginning to suspect it might have done. However, the sample here is too small. If it did, did it also form a pairing in your natal? Here's a glimpse of the data gathering spreadsheet: I only considered aspects with orbs unto 2 degrees (unless a DW), and gave equal weighting to the aspects I recorded- conjunctions, squares, opps, sextile, trine, quincunx and quintile - which is what the colour coding refers to. Only took synastries and composites into account as these were provided by all. I really should have spelt out the parameters more clearly at the start, with questions, to ensure that everyone provided the same data and with greater precision (hopefully everyone checked on the asteroids I had asked for). It would have been interesting to see whether any pairings were represented in natals, for example, as not all provided their natal aspects. TO CONTINUE[/B]
This is awesome!! Thank you! IP: Logged |

Astrokeen... How do the last ones relate to Rama and Sita and is this all of them? Sita 244 – wife of Rama Ramakrishna 25468 Ramachandran 20851 Raman 55753

Hi Gabby,As far as I am aware, the Rama Sita pairings can only be formed with names of Rama, not with other forms of Vishnu. That wouldn't happen. Rama and Sita are renowned as begin the perfect couple with unquestionable loyalty. Vishnu's consort was Lakshmi, but there is no asteroid with that name. Incidentally, just found out that there are plains of Lakshmi on the planet Venus (Lakshmi planum). Other names/asteroids for Vishnu: Vishnu 4034 Padmanabhan 21575 Srinivasan 21748 Venkateswaran 28438 Nor are there asteroids to represent Krishna's partner - Krishna (asteroid Krishnan) was another reincarnation of Vishnu. Krishna is represented by these asteroids: Krishnan 22533 Gopalan 7754 Balakrishnan 16116 - the child Krishna I found out some strange co-incidences. Both my bf and I have Balakrishnan exactly conjunct our ascendants. And my son's Balakrishnan (child Krishna) is exactly conjunct my Krishnan. Asteroids do work in splendiferous ways . IP: Logged |

Thank you Astrokeen.... So none of the ones you've mentioned are a part of any pair other than Sita/Rama and the versions mentioned, correct?I'm still working on making sure I have everything correct on my "asteroid couples" thread. These where mentioned so I'm trying to figure out where they fit in or if they fit in. Thanks again IP: Logged |
