But yeah, it REALLY doesn't cut corners. A strong Saturn contact forces whatever it's contacting to shape up, one way or another.

Interesting so having saturn conjunct valentine square our nodes in composite forces us big time to grow into our nodes, find that balance between our nodes and clear out a lot of karma between us.

I feel very much my relationship with my husband is about healing for both of us and personal growth with saturn squaring our nodes and chiron in the 4th opposing uranus and squaring venus in the 7th conjunct the DC.

I love this:

"I have a hard time with D's Saturn on my Ascendant, but then I remember that Michelle Obama's Saturn is on Barack Obama's Ascendant... and see where that got them! It's SO hard to have every little action which is not perfect criticized mercilessly... but guess what... it's making me the most responsible possible version of myself. And that's what I want to be. My choice to put myself through the relationship. It luckily has enough shiny Neptune, Jupiter.. and other things... that we are carried through the especially hard times."

My ex-wife and I...

Please list how long you've known each other.

35-ish years

How long did it take to solidify the relationship?

We knew of each other in school but didn't really meet until after she graduated. We met at a party, then talked by phone for a couple of weeks before things progressed.

How long to move in together or marry?

7 or 8 months.

Where there obstacles?

Yes

What were they?

Some of the early ones... My age, I was still in school, her mother didn't approve of me, her relationship with her family was troubled, Finances for both of us...

These were the initial obstacles. There were plenty more, and not ones that I would be inclined to discuss publicly.

List all the significant saturn aspects including Juno and Vertex in synastry and composite.

all aspects listed are orb <3°

Saturn opposite Moon double whammy.

My Saturn is...
Conjunct her Chiron
opposite her Moon
square her Venus
(part of her mutable t square overlaying my mutable t square for a grand cross, with her Venus on my aVx)

Her Saturn is...
opposite my Moon
square my Neptune
square my Jupiter
conjunct my Psyche
completing a grand cross

There are of course other aspects but you specified Saturn...

Also list how your composite saturn touches each of your natal charts.

:/ Composite Saturn trine my sun. I don't know, I've not gotten into composites much.

***List degrees for all***

Maybe later

Please feel free to tell your story about how your relationship evolved and how its going today...

Married when I was 18, Father at 19, Separated at 20, Filed for divorce at 21...

Got back together at 26. round 2 lasted 4 or 5 years

Got back together again. around age 40. Third time's a charm? 7 years later... 3 strikes and you're out, right?

Best ex-wife a man could have wished for. Little drama once we've broke up. Just something happens when we're together that just doesn't work after a while.

Moon-Saturn starts a little rough, but you can grow into it. Saturn Chiron though... I'm sure Chiron has the harder time, but it's no picnic being Saturn either. Being the knight in shining armor ain't always what they portrayed in the romance novels.

Please don't quote. I may have poster's remorse...

Wow GB, that sounds kind of painful....ive read in other threads where you've talked about the hardships youve had...im very sorry for all you've went through!
Sounds like you really tried very hard though.

Those Saturn aspects are very unforgiving!! Saturn probably held you together and kept you wanting to go back but in the end it was just too painful. 😔

Well ... I have always been rather commitment phobic because when I DO commit, I commit with a vengeance and find it hard it "abandon" anyone even if they make my life a misery. Sigh! Masochism. I can't help my over-developed sense of responsibiliity.

Anyway, my husband and I are still married and probably will remain that way. For better or worse. Etc.

From my mother's side: My grandpa has Venus conjunct Saturn in cancer which conjuncts my grandmother's Mars and Sun.

My grandmother has saturn in Virgo which conjuncts my grandfather's moon and squared his Sun.

They had a solid marriage only married each other and never divorced, they did separate briefly at some point but got through that.

From my dad's side:
Grandpa has saturn in Taurus sextile my grandmother's Saturn in Cancer. His Saturn trines her mercury. OMG my grandmother's karma conjuncts my grandfather's saturn!

Her saturn opposed widely by 10d his mercury. Her saturn conjuncted his moon but I don't know if tightly or widely but it appears both of my grandparents had a moon conjunct Saturn.!

They had a solid marriage only married each other and never divorced or separated; everyone looked up to their marriage actually.

Taineberry, the double whammy Saturn South Node is apparently incredibly binding. Pat Geisler says it's very very unlikely for anybody to ever come between two people with this in her book.

We have it one way, my Saturn, his South Node. I know he'll always be in my life, one way or another. His Saturn is conjunct my ascendant, and his own vertex, and our composite South Node, so it's kind of a double whammy for us I guess.

Yes.. it's huge I think.

I finally realized what our Karma thing means.. at least a bit.

My karma is conjunct his vertex, his karma is conjunct my vertex. So of course in composite, same story, except that composite vertex is also opposite Moon-Amor-Diana.

Anyway the point is, with Karma conjunct vertex it's like a triple dose of Karma from each of us, to each of us...

It feels like I am burning through karma with him actually, it feels like I am experiencing the repercussions of many many accumulated past actions of mine... as well as certain rewards... I am having to deal with every little thing that I have done which has created karma, and am intensely, intimately aware of how every little thing I do might create more... And perhaps this is true for him as well, though I would not wish it on him... And nor he for me... yet it seems we agreed to come together this lifetime and help each other with this stuff... it's helpful but HEAVY at times.

"Sun-Saturn, Mercury-Saturn, and Mars-Saturn" what was the aspects between these?

Sun-Saturn square and opposition (1 degree orb max).

Mercury-Saturn square and sextile (0 degrees and 3 degrees respectively).

Mars-Saturn square and quincunx.

I couldn't let go to save my life and he couldn't either even though we were both miserable. He eventually broke free after the peak in his Uranus-Venus square transit.

Saturn is only horrible if the rest of the Synastry is horrible. Good or bad aspects, it all depends on the rest of the Synastry/ composite in my opinion. Saturn makes everything real. That's it. If your relationship is on the rocks, Saturn will make that more apparent. If your relationship is beautiful and loving, Saturn will make sure you guys stick around to enjoy it for awhile. Transits play a major role too but Saturn is always apart of the foundation, weak or strong.

I believe you are right about Saturn/South Node - it certainly seems like glue to both you and to me.

I have been with my husband 36 years now, and have weathered the kind of things that would probably have broken apart 99% of the couples I know. Yet.. we endure. I was interested in your reference to Pat Geisler so I looked it up. Here is the quote I found (.. and yes I can relate!!):

A Tale of the Dragon: The Moon’s Nodes by Pat Geisler (excerpt)

“I recall seeing such ties between a man and his wife who had what could only be called an “open” marriage for several years before it eventually settled down with the birth of a child. I would feel sorry for any woman who expected a fling between her and the husband to lead to his divorce. It never would. His South Node fell on his wife’s Saturn. Her South Node fell on his Saturn. I
believe they are nearing at least 40 years of marriage.”

P.S. Just a note about asteroid KARMA - My Karma and Rhea (Saturn's wife) conjuncts his North Node!!!!

(in my own chart - Saturn is opposite Karma/Rhea).

Same thing here, but one sided. His Karma-Destinn-Atlantis conjuncts my Vertex.

... <3 it's HARD having somebody's KARMA on your Vertex, but it will be worth it I think.

That's the quote alright.

And yes, it's the same for us... we've endured a ridiculous amount of difficulty the 9 months we've been together... yet it seems neither of us has ever had any serious or sustained intent to leave the other... it just seems... yeah... Kind of impossible.

It needs to be burnt , I guess, the Karma that is.
In our Composite, Karma conjuncts Amor and North Node, in the 12th house....and squares Satty and Moon at exact degree...aaggh. whyyy. lol

Heh.... yeah... urgh.

I feel ya. We have Karma-Amor going on in composite too... and Moon and Vertex...

(EDIT: Wait... wait... you have almost the exact same thing? AGAIN!? ... albeit a square to the Moon rather than a conjunction/opposition (I always forget where Karma is, conjunct or opposite MoonAmor...), and yours involves the NN (!!!) ???)

Darn Karma, just messin with a good thing if only that pesky karma were taken care of...

Lol I could go on.saying this joke a hundred different ways. But I'm being sarcastic.

It's a blessing... it's hard but it totally, totally NEEDS to get burnt...

It is extremely uncanny, Yung...all the similarities between us but in a mixed up order. Keep in mind that I am still physically attached to a Scorpio ex and my Aries is just being patient waiting for me to cut the ties so we can have a normal relationship. It's been a long process. My Scorpio ex has his Sun at 23' Scorpio. Where is your Sun? I know already that my Aries and your Aries have their Suns at the same degree. lol.
