This is a site honoring Linda Goodman, so to those of you who are happy to see the ones who have left go, please remember the rest of us, who have benefitted so much from being part of a forum that includes those people.it's okay that lots of us who don't like and don't agree with each other are here together, as well as many who adore each other.....but not okay if the forum's moderation style is so divisive that NONE of us can continue to discuss Linda's favorite topics without it spiraling into personal attacks. Okay!! I figured it out. LOLRandall and Ami Anne are "a romantic couple" now. I've seen signs of it for a while. Explains EVERYTHING. Anything for Love  ....  IP: Logged |

Failure to soothe and put out the flames would be being a mediocre moderator---quoting an off-topic post where one user insults another and saying anything along the lines of "yes! This is 100% correct and needed to be said" is just inappropriate for any moderator. I don't like the idea of threads getting censored and shut down a lot or users getting banned a lot--very often, a mod saying something like "Let's stick to the topic of this thread, which is in the Astrology 2.0 forum--so your post should be about astrology!--and this is a reminder to everyone that we have a policy not to make targeted personal comments" will do the trick to calm things down. I admit this is MUCH harder to do with inflammatory topics, and my issue with Ami as a moderator is much more about the less political topics, like Nordicsoul's thread about the uses of astrology, and the many other threads like it--where Ami wasn't a part of the discussion, at least two of the people posting did things that in my mind could have used moderator intervention: "Everybody: please do not use this thread to criticize other users. If you want to offer astrological insights on this topic or debate the astrological issues, this is the place. please refer back to the forum guidelines (link)" Instead, Ami popped on to endorse one of the inappropriate comments--WTF?! And I've seen that on multiple threads. And I'm not saying that to side against Ami--some of the people who left have also posted off-topic personal criticisms on various threads--the kind a mod should intervene about and redirect. Edited to add: a lot of people on this site make targeted comments criticizing each other or (metaphorically!) "thumbs up" comments like that about people they don't like. The mods shouldn't do that ever. The mods should note comments like that that are particularly offensive and gently redirect things back to a more respectful discussion of the topic.

Hold up, Elysia got banned?I was reading, reading, reading, then I saw that. I read a bit more on the way here to comment. I can see that some stuff has been said... but.. Can somebody please explain this? I guess it is obvious what's going on and I shouldn't need an explanation at this point but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and at least ask. Please, explain? ... All my well worded, thoughtful, spiritual appeals aren't going to crack this situation or suddenly melt totally partisan hearts, are they? I thought it was worth at least another try (this is certainly not to say those who are gone did not try). Again, even if those who are unmoveable are not moved, at least others who remain here can possibly still get some perspective. I can't go online at home anymore, I canceled my internet plan when my smartphone disappeared (good riddance)... I will log on every few days to check my email and read things here maybe, and maybe say things, and make appointments, etc, but other than that I'm much better off this way... I think the universe is redirecting my energy from here one way or another though. You folks all know where to find me (intimatesky.net)

Also. It IS asking somebody to pick sides if you consider being friends with someone you consider on the "other side" choosing sides. I have dealt with death threats before in my life, from people IN REAL LIFE, with whom I am still friends. I have held crying homeless men on the street as they cried and told me about people they HAVE ACTUALLY KILLED. I am in no way behoven to hate people or be unkind to them no matter what they do. Violets here (I once created a new account years ago, and never used it).I left because I find this environment toxic, and Randall's decisions to allow Ami to run rampant and unchecked as a member, let alone a moderator, are just...unbelievable. This place is insane. And nothing will be done about it. That is the history of LL. Randall endorses Ami's idiotic approach to astrology, her rather disturbed beliefs in general, and her abuse towards other members. It's not going to stop, it will not get better here. It will keep going, because that is the history here. And neither Randall nor Ami are going to change, so. That is why I have left. I did not see the death threats or anything of that nature. I just know how SOME people are allowed to conduct themselves here, and I am appalled by it. This has been my feeling for some considerable time, but I've ignored it mostly, or not visited much. Now that everyone I actually value (save for some of you) have left, there is nothing of substance here for me. I felt no obligation to take sides. I didn't see the death threat thread or whatever it was. I find this place toxic (and no, not because of the people who left...it will continue to be toxic without us) and honestly just...weird. In a bad way. So. Fare thee well (again), and go ahead an ban me or whatever. Or rather, unregister me, as I have zero desire to contribute any further to this site or its toxic energy. IP: Logged |

Also for the record, I do not hate Ami. Not remotely. I find her behavior totally unacceptable, but I do not hate her in any way, on any level.
