Swan Song,
That all sounds wonderful. What a beautiful world this would be if people followed their labors of love with as much determination and faith as you do. May you receive all that you desire.

Queen of Sheba- you go, girl!!

My LOL right now would have to be my 1 yr old Lauren, she's a firey red head (acutally strawberry blonde, looks NOTHING like me!) and is so precious to me, I also love taking care of my fiancee and our home. We are currantly going through a bit of a rough time right now due to him being in school, money's been hard. But who ever said a student was rich eh? What I invision for us, or my dream future LOL would be that all this struggle was worth it, it was a hard decision for us to make for him to do, go back to school because we were fine for money at the time we just new when the oppertunity came we should take it.
I want to live in a peaceful small town near lots of trees and water, I would like a well structured family, I want to be able to see the fruits of my LOL bloom and never die. I would really like for myself to be I guess you could say, a quazy Martha Stewart, but not really, I want to know every nursery rhyme to tell my children and know how to make anybody sick feel better, I want my home to always smell like thanks giving dinner I want to walk around my house and know I created a beautyful home with my own 2 bare hands (I make our curtians and bed skirts and reapolster small furniture and refinnish wood furniture) Then look at my family and know I was NEVER just a housewife, I was the backbone to our family (which I believe most mothers are)Then take in what a good job I did.
Thats My dream LOL

Greyone, I just saw your post and checked the link...what a wonderful cause!! I used to be involved with volunteering my services to the Humane Society here in Ottawa but became disillusioned and had to quit. They do not have a no-kill policy...they will keep the animals for as long as possible, but when space becomes at a premium, beautiful little creatures are put down. Mostly cats, as they are so over-run with them...but also dogs many times...especially if an outbreak of Parvo happens. And when one dog would be found to have Parvo, any dogs with ANY sign of fecal changes would be automatically destroyed.

I began to wonder if these animals, most of whom were rounded up as strays from the streets, were ultimately happier and better off than being taken to the shelter for their own benefit. Yes, I know that street animals don't fare as well, and many become sick, but still...there HAS to be a better solution. Not by treating the symptom, but by stopping the problem itself. Go after the irresponsible owners whenever possible, hit them hard with monetary fines, ensure that anyone breeding animals HAS to have a breeders' license...none of that is being addressed here, and it's a shame.

Sorry for my rant, but it's a subject close to my heart, and your link brought tears to my eyes. I applaud Newfoundland for attempting a no-kill policy!! I only hope that our nation's capital will someday do the same.

And I thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Labor of Love....

well taking care of my son, Hunter is the main one. Beyond that, MUSIC. Listening to music, going to concerts, and now making my own music (with Kian). That's been a dream of mine since I was very young.

My job! I'm Vice President of Marketing and Promotion at a small record label called High Priestess Productions! So my job is nearly perfect for me.

hello today ..open your eyes ..the snow is falling just like leaves ..aquarian warriors rebuild the ship ..mr rainbow is gone ..hello my love ..here's to your heart ..unfold the lillies in the deep ..the season's over, the shores are sealed ..now ashen roses rain on the fields ..innocent dreamers, look what you've done ..now it's time for the phoenix to fly

I'm still trying to figure out mine... I know an astorlogical analysis would help if I could make sense of putting it all together.

I know this: When I saw ET as a little one, I knew from then on I wanted to work in movies. Then my interest in college (at first) became photography - I graduated with a 2-year degree. Then, I went on to film shcool which I am now on break from. However, my love is of things spiritual, scientific, twin flames, poetry (writing), art, and editing. Somehow I DESIRE to link them altogether.

*sigh*

To me, a labor of love is something that you love to do so much that when you are doing it, time stands still for you. You do not notice the time go by. When you do notice the time, you are amazed at how much time went by while you were emmersed in your activity.

Labors of love are often in alignment with the reason you are here on the planet now in the first place. Part of your mission, path, plan, etc.

What is it that you can "lose yourself" in while you are doing it?

What are you doing when you feel inspired?

What brings you pure joy?

These are labors of love.

i'm working towards changing our school system... i've always felt there was sumthin lacking when i was a public-school prisoner myself, and once i started doing yoga it all became so clear. we NEED to stop creating more lil capitalists and start offering more useful curriculum. our kids (more oftan than not) graduate not knowing how to eat right, balance their checkbook or have a lasting marriage. but most importantly (in my opinion) i'd like to see yoga, pilates and dance offered as a mandatory elective to the current p.e. options...i really am biased as far as yoga is concerned, but i feel storngly that this could be the best way to introduce spirituality to our children, without the need for preaching or bibles. it would be truely esoteric, and it would lay the foundation for their futures...
either way, the system we have now is simply NOT working...our drop-out rate is at 75%, not to mention the teen suicide and pregnacy rates continue to soar.
k, i'll stop my ranting now i also love to dance, and would like to help others find their own creative voices through movement as well. i believe dance could be dharma for the masses

Well...

I want to be a good mother to my 3,6 yo angel-teacher-son (karma teacher, anyway).
Parallel to that, I'd like to reconnect with my inner self and materialize my talents in writing and music, I owe it to the Universe.

I'm quite good at persuading and comforting, and I'd like to do it through my arts. I love to inspire!

Withing next few weeks I'm organizing a poets evening in my town in order to raise money to help our town buying a mammograf.
It is the first time I do such a thing, and I've always dreamt about it.

I work in a Red Cross for 10 months already, can you imagine how lucky I am?
I also sing and write, I love it.

And in future, I see myself strong and peaceful, living in a warm house next to my Twin Soul. My son being happy and fulfilled.
Me, doing my LOL, in harmony with Universe.
