My wish wasn't granted.

I received a call today at 5PM from the terrible, rude man (i'm sorry, but he is) at this passport place in New York who has been working with me on my visa. He said that on top of the $200 fee for his service, I have to pay him another $150 to make sure the visa goes through. He also said that he doesn't know WHEN I will have my student visa. My flight is Wednesday @ 9:45 AM. It doesn't look like i'll be able to catch my plane. I will have to change my ticket, for another fee.

My parents suggested calling the US Embassy and asking for a two-week temporary visa, just so i would be able to get to the UK on schedule, but the Passport place in New York also has my Passport. I doubt that I will be able to leave the US without a Passport.

I am just so hurt at this point. I know that feeling sorry for myself gets me nowhere, but I just... don't understand! I think of myself as a good person, and to have all of these set-backs makes me question what I've done to deserve this. I accept that it is my fault, inevitably, that everything wasn't finished properly. Yet despite all of my best efforts to fix this nothing I've been doing as been a full-proof success.

I am just so heart-broken. I'm sorry.

I know how you feel.
I ask the same thing..."why?"
I hope it all works out to your best interests soon.

meta - very sorry to hear that you're encountering such difficulties

you're gonna hate me, but i'm a big believer
in things happening for a reason, including
the chitty stuff... NOT in the " you have done something to bring this on yourself " way... maybe there is a bigger reason for
this to be happening... something that you're not seeing right now but will eventually come to light... i will keep wishing for you

if your passport is in the passport office? then they should be able to collaborate with the embassy on a temporary visa. while i agree that sometimes the things we were sure we had to have turn out to have been the wrong path, therefore having them NOT happen can be a good thing, i don't believe in accepting failure till its over....

maybe there is just a reason for you to be where you are for another couple weeks, and getting there late will turn out to be a blessing of some kind, it's too bad it's costing so much more than you expected but it sounds like you are paying some third party to expedite it for you? why?

but, why can't you just collect your passport, get a visitor's visa at heathrow (6 months stay last i heard) and sort out the student visa at the london embassy? i think i would be inclined to just go for it and get my butt on that airplane!

right-y oh! i actually have specific people in mind but would be just as happy with anyone who can "hear-along" with me. a lot of harmonics are involved in the music i have in mind; but having worked with plenty of musicians what i am really looking for is the special alchemy that makes an idea into a tangible piece that sounds like what i am hearing in my head! if that makes sense...

I wish that when I hear from Penguin Publishers, South Africa, in November, they have decided to publish my book "An Open-Minded Girl; Damaged by Incest". Penguin was one of the few publishers who accpet unsolicited manuscripts and I sent mine to them two months ago and on their website they guarentee a response, whether positive or negative, to your book proposal.

Have to list this all if I'm gonna do this right:
I wish for Bertie to be healthy, Lexx's husband to love himself, WinkAway's daugter to move to Oklahoma with her Dad and go to college, meta_4 to be able to go to the UK with a student Visa and passport, katatonic to get some awesome recording equipment and musician, Penguin Publishers South Africa to publish fatinkerbell's manuscript, and good wishes for T

And lastly, I wish for Yale to notice me and offer a special deal where I can go there right after I graduate That would make my life.

Thank you!

I will light a candle in a while, and write your wishes on a note card to place underneath the plate - or some sugar underneath the candle. (A Silver Ravenwolf thing that I picked up, five years ago.)

We took Bertie to the vet last week ~ right after his quick bath, he did what scared me back in April: started gasping whilst lying on his side. (I'd been trying to take a nap, until my dad called and said he thought he was having a seizure.)

At the vet's, he fainted when they started to scrape a couple of his teeth, and clips his nails. I didn't want to say this elsewhere, but they had to give him oxygen, and the vet changed his opinion from "condition unchanged" to something I don't want people thinking (I don't care if anyone does think I'm in denial). They gave him a new heart pill to be given once a day, in addition to the water pills, and we've continued with the supplements, and occasionally giving him colostrum.. *touch wood* he's been following me around more - still wheezing, and I still want him to be careful (obviously), but he seems to feel a little better - enough to move around a little more freely. He followed me down here, and into the living room.. he needs another bath, but I'm afraid to try, so I'm going to get a flannel and some water, and wash him off that way.
