MoonWitch, I became a Mother very recently (for the first time). I got pregnant in my late 30's. Even though pregnancy was rather difficult and labor was even worse. I am a mother of healthy baby girl Is it your first child? IP: Logged |

My cousin got married and had two healthy kids at 41. We need to stop propagating the myth that fertility is a one-size-fits-all case. It's just ridiculous and derogatory for women. If you are healthy, and lead a healthy lifestyle, chances are your age does not get in the way of making babies. The question is "how healthy are you", not "how old are you". IP: Logged |

hey MW, i second what lexx said about the rh- issue, the first birth is never a problem because the body wasnt exposed yet to the rh+ but if ur first kid was an rh+ that means ur body will recognize all rh+ (after first born) babies as intruders and that might cause misscariges or even worse! please ask ur doctor about it u see its like allergies, if ur allergic to a certain type of fruit. the first time ur encountered with that fruit nothing happens, however the second time (and on words) is when the reaction occurs.. as for ur age im sure that not a problem with all the mile stones in modern medicine.. best of luck!! Sorry, I haven't been to this forum in a while It goes nowhere so far. Now I'm 40 1/2 with nothing happening. If nothing happens my September then we're going to turn to technology and in-vitro fertilization. Still_Hopeful - I have a 13 year old boy from a previous marriage. Oh and I had my blood type checked again with my new doctor. I'm absolutely A+ so there are no negative blood types to deal with.

OH and let's see!I've a zillion tests in the past 4 months. My uterus is "textbook perfect" I don't have any ovarian cysts. My fallopian tubes are open. I don't have fibroids. My menstrual cycle lengths are normal. I take my temp every morning and it shows I am ovulating normally. My follicle stimulating hormone is slightly elevated but expected at my age. My estradol is good. My prolactin level is normal. My thyroid hormone is perfect. My blood pressure is great. My AMH level is low showing probable diminished ovarian reserve. My antral-follicle count was only 7 which is sort of expected at my age but I have eggs so... *faceplant* IP: Logged |

I'm sorry to hear your frustration, MoonWitch I can only say that my husband and I are TTC too, and after having tried *NOT* to for so long (6 years or so), it's maddening that it doesn't happen easier when we desire it. I don't have any advice to offer, but hugs I have aplenty IP: Logged |
