The aluminum has been altered; the color is just paint (purple being a Spiritual color).

in Star Signs linda says that the plates are anodized with the violet color....with its healing or spiritual frequency.

is 'anodized' the same as being simply painted?

It's not the same as using a can of spray paint or a paint brush, but it's still paint (coated by electrolysis). Violet is the best color for what that color of the spectrum represents, but it's the altered structure of the aluminum that give them their unique powers.
