Hi Folks,I was just thinking that we are often so focused on discussing Linda Goodman "Mother of New Age" that we forget about the "Father of New Age" movement. So, I would like to give a Happy Father's Day shout-out to my good friend Carl Llewellyn Weschcke the "Father of New Age". quote:
Carl Llewellyn Weschcke (Minnesota) is the owner and chairman of Llewellyn Worldwide, the world's oldest and largest metaphysical publisher. He played a seminal role in the rise of Wicca and Neo-Paganism in the 1960s and 1970s and has been called "the father of New Age" for his public sponsorship of occult subjects. Weschcke also served as the 7th Past Grand Master Ordo Aurum Solis. http://www.llewellyn.com/author.php?author_id=4861
I have been digesting a book Carl co-authored with his good friend Dr. Joe H. Slate, titled DOORS TO PAST LIVES & FUTURE LIVES: Practical Applications of Self-Hypnosis...and it's a pretty yummy book!
quote: Joe H. Slate is a Licensed Psychologist in private practice with a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama and postdoctoral studies in hypnosis and psychosomatic medicine at the University of California. He is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Athens State University and Honorary Professor at the University of Montevallo. His research interests include health and fitness, rejuvenation, pain management, reincarnation, astral projection, and the human aura. His research has been funded by the U. S. Army, the Parapsychology Foundation of New York, and numerous private sources. http://www.llewellyn.com/author.php?author_id=2190
Anyways, I highly recommend any book authored or co-authored by Carl Llewellyn Weschcke. Carl is a Virgo with a Pisces Ascendant and he has authored some excellent, practical, step-by-step, guides for the advanced student/Soul.
Carl & Dr. Joe H. Slate have an upcoming book which is expected to be released sometime soon next month, July 2013. It's called Clairvoyance for Psychic Empowerment: The Art & Science of "Clear Seeing" Past the Illusions of Space & Time & Self-Deception that I can't wait to get my hands on! BTW you can pre-order Clairvoyance for Psychic Empowerment now and the fabulously dedicated staff at Llewellyn Publishing will ship when copies are available. LOve & LIght , Stephanie PS. If I wanted to know more about Linda Goodman, the NUT obsessed "Mother of New Age"...I would bet my last silver dollar that the equally NUT obsessed "Father of New Age" would be in the loop. ------------------

Hi Randall,When I got DOORS TO PAST LIVES & FUTURE LIVES: Practical Applications of Self-Hypnosis, I opened up to page 77 (a section called Exploring Preexistence) and started reading... quote:
Without exception, our subjects were astonished at the magnificent variety of sights and sounds characterizing their preexistence. Many of them experienced the wondrous sounds of music, which comes as no surprise since music is the magical language that unites us all. One subject, a student majoring in music, noted: "It was like playing a violin--I felt the vibrations under my skin." Typically, our subjects felt instantly attuned to their preexistence and the energies that infused them.
...being a lazy typist & skipping a paragraph...to page 78...
quote:
For our subjects who had acquired aura-viewing skills, the radiant colors characterizing preexistence planes were similar to those observed in the human aura (see Joe Slates Aura Energy for Health, Healing & Balance, 1999). One of our subjects, a student who is color blind, saw color for the first time upon opening the door to his preexistence. He was struck not only by the wondrous beauty of all the colors but by the music and sound harmonies they seemed to radiate. From their vantage point as spectators at the doorway to their preexistence, the participants in our studies were moved by the perfect symmetry and balance of the realm's design. They observed vibrant structural forms including iridescent orbs, domes, and pyramids, along with multicolored arches reminiscent of the rainbow. One of our subjects, a marine biologist, observed shimmering streams, lakes, and rivers of energy teeming with marine life forms. "I am a tree person and bird watcher so I was not surprised during my own preexistence regression to see a dense primeval forest with splendid trees, lush undergrowth, and magnificent feathered beings, including the showy and colorful macaw. The experience for me was an unforgettable, inspiring reality."
I really like the macaw part. I have a pair of blue & gold macaws and from experience I think they are pretty magical birds. Not to mention they have incredibly long lifespans. In mythological tradition, macaws, along with peacocks, are purportedly related to the mythical bird in the Garden of Eden.
Posting before I accidentally lose what I just typed out! Pretty juicy so far, huh? The next couple few paragraphs after that are pretty good too! Stephanie IP: Logged |

Did you know macaws love nuts? I mean they really love nuts! Mine especially beg (like bad dogs) for goober peas. They don't beg quietly either. For example, if I make a peanut butter sandwich, my macaws will thump on their cage and squawk so loudly that if I wanted to eat my peanut butter sandwich in peace I'd have to eat my lunch all by myself in the basement closet.Meet Sargent Pepper the Macaw... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4oFKo3EW84 ____________________________________________ goo·ber [goo-ber] noun South Midland and Southern U.S. the peanut. Also called goober pea. Origin: 1825–35; of Afr orig.; compare Kimbundu nguba peanut IP: Logged |

When I was a little girl (I forgot how old...elementary school aged), I was staying with my grandparents one summer while they where starting their electric company. The guys were remodeling inside the building and I was helping my grandma outside in the yard. There was a long, wide, robust row of peanut plants growing along the property line. I didn't really understand why they had to go. I thought they were unique. I had never seen a peanut plant before then. But my Taurus grandma really hated those peanut plants and wanted to be rid of every last peanut because she thought they would grow back, so I didn't question her and just helped--for what seemed like two endless days. When I got older, I thought it was a little peculiar. Mostly because I thought peanut plants grew down south, however these peanut plants were growing pretty close to the Canadian border (Fargo is the closest big city). I mean wouldn't they have died off in the winter anyway? But I gotta agree with you on that one, Randall...about Goober being an odd word. IP: Logged |

Actually, Goobers peas are like candy to macaws and they aren't really supposed to eat too many. When I fill my macaws' bowl, the couple-few peanuts in the mix are always the first nuts to get eaten. However, Goobers grow Underground--not in the umbrella of the rainforest--thus not part of a macaw's natural diet. Also because they are grown Underground, Goobers can harbor mold and fungi (not good for Polly's respiratory tract). As you can probably tell by now...feeding a fruit hawk (that's what they jokingly called my macaw at the University of MN Raptor Center, a fruit hawk)...anyways it requires quite a bit of nut knowledge. Not to mention nuts can cost quite a bit...especially if you're working for peanuts. It isn't cheap to keep a farm fresh supply of raw in-shell Hawaiian macadamia nuts on hand. I'm pretty sure it is all of us large bird owners that flock to the store after Christmas to buy all the holiday nuts on clearance. You can keep your Christmas nutcracker, thank you--we already have our own. Albeit the Fred Flintstone version. It's old school. By the way, here are the lyrics to an old school "Big Bird"song from fellow Minnesota homegrown poet, BOB DYLAN... SIMPLE TWIST OF FATE - BOB DYLAN They sat together in the park As the evening sky grew dark She looked at him and he felt a spark tingle to his bones ’Twas then he felt alone and wished that he’d gone straight And watched out for a simple twist of fate They walked along by the old canal A little confused, I remember well And stopped into a strange hotel with a neon burnin’ bright He felt the heat of the night hit him like a freight train Moving with a simple twist of fate A saxophone someplace far off played As she was walkin’ by the arcade As the light bust through a beat-up shade where he was wakin’ up, She dropped a coin into the cup of a blind man at the gate And forgot about a simple twist of fate He woke up, the room was bare He didn’t see her anywhere He told himself he didn’t care, pushed the window open wide Felt an emptiness inside to which he just could not relate Brought on by a simple twist of fate He hears the ticking of the clocks And walks along with a parrot that talks Hunts her down by the waterfront docks where the sailors all come in Maybe she’ll pick him out again, how long must he wait Once more for a simple twist of fate People tell me it’s a sin To know and feel too much within I still believe she was my Twin, but I lost the ring She was born in Spring, but I was born too late Blame it on a simple twist of fate Copyright © 1974 by Ram's Horn Music; renewed 2002 by Ram’s Horn Music Read more: http://www.bobdylan.com/us/songs/simple-twist-fate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KfJJWTj_Ow
And since Bob Dylan is a Gemini, let's play it again on The Child's Balloon... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqtnbXuNqT8 LOve & LIght , "Stephanie Street"

SONG FOR BOB DYLAN - DAVID BOWIEOh, hear this Robert Zimmerman I wrote a song for you About a strange young man Called Dylan With a voice like sand and glue His words of truthful vengeance They could pin us to the floor Brought a few more people on And put the fear in a whole lot more Ah, here she comes Here she comes Here she comes again The same old painted lady From the brow of a superbrain She’ll scratch this world to Pieces As she comes on like a friend But a couple of songs From your old scrapbook Could send her home again You gave your heart to every bedsit room At least a picture on my wall And you sat behind a million pair of eyes And told them how they saw Then we lost your train of thought The paintings are all your own While troubles are rising We’d rather be scared Together than alone Ah, here she comes…[etc.] Now hear this Robert Zimmerman Though I don’t suppose we’ll meet Ask your good friend Dylan If he’d gaze a while down the old street Tell him we’ve lost his poems So they’re writing on the walls Give us back our unity Give us back our family You’re every nation’s refugee Don’t leave us with their sanity Ah, here she comes….[etc.] http://davidbowielyrics.org/?s=zimmerman ____________________________________________ BTW Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. I typed out a couple more paragraphs from DOORS TO PAST LIVES & FUTURE LIVES: Practical Applications of Self-Hypnosis by Joe H. Slate & Carl Llewellyn Weschcke. This is right after the marine biologist part... quote:
Aside from the spectacular beauty of the preexistence realm, our subjects were profoundly affected by the realm's spirit entities. They recognized human spirits as radiant beings who were actively engaged in gaining wisdom, sharing knowledge, and nurturing each other's growth. According to our subjects, the souls were seen as bright beings with the capacity for growth and change. They emitted vibrant energy in its finest form. They were seen as embodying thoughts, memories, and emotions, while always radiating knowledge and love. Every soul was seen as an excellent work in progress, arrayed in beauty and full of love. As we will see later, souls with past lifetimes integrated all their past experiences into an upward spiral of continuous growth.
Our subjects, even as spectators, experienced their preexistence as a “fellowship of friends.” As souls, they interacted with each other, including souls from past lifetimes. They learned about life on earth, often experiencing it vicariously. They viewed earth events from a distance and sometimes interacted with incarnates. Several of our subjects reported that during their preexistence they had worked together with other souls, some with past lifetimes, to influence earths happenings. Though the specifics of those interventions were not always clear, they seemed always directed toward positive outcomes. In some instances souls worked together in groups to generate vibrations that influenced world events.

Lol...I vaguely remember that episode. When I was in high school, we had to fill out this bubble test (with our #2 pencils) to assess our strengths which a counselor then used to recommend fields of study for college. The highest scoring career recommendation was marine biologist, which I immediately thought would be an awesome career. Then she began to tell me that the field was pretty limited in my region and basically the only place that would hire a marine biologist in my area is the Minnesota Zoo. She said if I chose marine biologist as a career path I would most likely have to move to California for employment and I said, "I moved to San Francisco before--on October 17, 1989--and I was greeted with an earthquake. No, thank you. What's second on the list?" She said forest ranger--but that's a whole other story best told on Groundhog Day. Anyways, it was a pretty surreal day and my beautiful, long-haired, black kitten, Merri, got squished so bad the vet said I needed to put her down. Tornadoes can be predicted by weathermen with a fair degree of accuracy...and when the tornado sirens sound off, go to the basement. Pretty simple lifesaving technique. Don't you think they should try moving that Spring predicting groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, to California in the groundhog day off-season and see if he can predict earthquakes too? After all, he lives in a hole in the ground you would think he'd be first to know, right!? IP: Logged |

A brief but powerful verse, written by this book's consulting editor, Robert A. Brewer, a marine biologist, expresses with consummate clarity what I'm trying to communicate. where were you when the great whales were crying out for mercy and the fish were disappearing from our poisoned rivers and streams ?
did you write one letter? did you sing one song ? or did you just sit there telling yourself that your letter would not be read your song would not be heard? where were you when the Earth began to die? Linda Goodman's Star Signs
R.A.B. in reverse is B.A.R. BREWER - Old English. An occupation name. brew [broo]
verb (used with object) 1. to make (beer, ale, etc.) by steeping, boiling, and fermenting malt and hops. 2. to make or prepare (a beverage, as tea) by mixing, steeping, soaking, or boiling a solid in water. 3. to concoct, mix, or cook (a beverage or food, especially one containing unmeasured or unusual ingredients): witches brew. 4. to contrive, plan, or bring about: to brew mischief. ****** Can be confused: 1. brewed, brood (see synonym study at brood) ; 2. brews, bruise. ******* We know Piscean Fish (along with Neptune) rules alcohol and I suppose it has been said the other way around...that sometimes Fishes themselves can be ruled by alcoholic spirits. Lucky for Pisces, the 12th Sign, there are 12 Step Programs. It's a good policy for Pisceans to just avoid alcohol altogether and opt for a different kind of brew --root beer! IP: Logged |
