hi, my first post here!

first you guys are all really cool and i have learned a lot lurking here

anyway what i wanted to say is that the cell spiralling thing linda talked about in star signs - omg! this actually is starting to work! i am 35 and started getting grey hair a couple of years ago so i thought what the heck, i will try what linda suggetsed. so after a couple of weeks of doing the backward cell spiralling meditation, some of my grey hair is growing back in dark (i have brown hair)... this is just mindblowing! life truly is mind over matter, anybody here agree?

so try it if you haven't yet. it's cheaper and safer than hair dye! lol!

Su-weet!!!! I'm so happy for you! I've noticed myself changing physically as well, as the cells reverse I also feel differently in the sense that I'm developing a more youthful attitude/outlook towards life. Have you noticed a change in your emotional, mental outlook?
P.S. I wonder when we will cross paths with our twins-elves?

I am vegetarian but I still drink dairy milk. I assume leaving Dairy milk will make me vegan.
So to do spiral process, I don't need to leave Dairy Milk. I eat Vegetarian eggs too. But I don't eat any meat.
Though I don't know which are vegetarian eggs, I am counting white ones are Vege and yellow ones are non-veg.
Am I right?

Welcome WWS

That's great news!!!

sVirgo, Vegetarian means that you don't eat any animal flesh, but you may consume dairy products (including eggs).
If you were to stop consuming dairy and eggs, then you'd be classed as Vegan. Vegan is strictly a non-animal diet.

I'm not sure what you mean by vegetarian eggs?
I've never heard the term.
I have heard of 'organic' and 'free-range' eggs (which I buy), that are eggs from chickens who are able to roam freely in a farm rather than be caged.
I'm not sure what you mean by yellow and white? The shell color doesn't determain anything, (as far as I know). I'm not sure if I'm following, but hopefully I can help.

Thank you SunChild!!
Yes, I am confused about eggs as somebody told me that some eggs are fertile and some are not. So I thought which are not fertile are Veg eggs. White and yellow, I was talking about shell color.

This is a segment taken out of something I read once, it's very opionated but it does explain the difference between infertile and fertile eggs...it's up to you what you think. I still eat eggs, only free range, but I'm sure some of them are fertile, and some of them are not. I can't tell the difference.

quote:
According to the famous American scientist Mr. Philip J. Scamble, no egg is without life in it. The scientists at Michigan University in America have proven it beyond doubt that no egg - fertile or infertile - is without life (inanimate).

The hen gives infertile eggs during the absence of the male bird. But it has been observed that she gives an infertile egg before the day of contact with the male bird - and also the next day. In other words, she can give a fertile egg even without contact with a male bird. On the fifth day, again she gives a fertile egg. This means that the semen of the male bird remains lying in her body for a considerable duration. In some cases, this duration has been observed to be as long as even six months. A fertilised egg is a pre-birth stage of a chicken; unfertilised eggs are the result of the sexual cycle of a hen and very unnatural. Both are non-vegetarian food. Victoria Moran, the author of the book Compassion: The Ultimate Ethics says, to eat fertilised egg is in fact to consume a chicken before its birth (The Ethic on borderline). I was told that an unfertilised egg is the product of a bird's sexual cycle and can hardly be regarded as natural food for Man. Whether the egg is fertile or infertile, life is essentially there; and it has all the symptoms of life, such as respiration, brain, feeding ability, etc. There are 15,000 porous-breathing holes on the shell, the cover of the egg.

Oh, and the breed of the Hen determines the colors of her eggs. And here's something I googled that is more 'classroom' type of info...which I like better!

Hehee, we sort of got a bit off topic here. Carry on

Thank you SunChild, the information you provided me is really very good.
It has cleared my doubt about eggs whether fertile or not.
Okay if you can help me on one more thing, what is the reason people leave dairy milk. Because I am from India, tea is such a common thing, then yogurt and even cheese, butter and icecream. I love all these things.

I LOVE Yoghurt too, and I love indian food....mmm

But I've found personally that people have left dairy due to many different reasons. Not everybody is the same.

A common one is for health reasons, and that a 'cow's' milk is for a calf and not for human consumption, and it's going against nature.
I know people that feel bad for the cows that are going through the whole 'milking' process and they're being taken away from their babies prematurely.
They think it's cruel.
Some other reasons is that milk may be actually bad for your health, and it also carries a 'cruelty' vibe.

There are many things I agree and disagree with, but at the end of the day, my goal is to be entirely Raw Vegan.
But for the moment I am comfortable eating dairy until my body is ready to go without it.

At the moment I don't eat any meat.
And that is fine too.
I like to take it slowly.
I recommend that we all do too, and the most important thing is to enjoy the food that goes with it!!!

Oh, and I just wanted to point out, that (IMO) we shouldn't just go veg/vegan because we guilt ourselves into it, or due to a fad, or been convinced by another party.
The reality is, you do what your body tells you to do... the more you grow spiritually the more your body will crave less poisoned food...and vice versa.

I remember OSHO said something that struck a chord with me once, "don't become vegetarian to be more spiritual, if you are spiritual, vegetarianism will come naturally" Thats not word for word, just my recollection.

Yes, eating egg brings guilt in me. But as I was unclear whether fertile or not, I could not make my firm decision.
Then I read that eggs are good for hair and eyes. So I restarted them but in my heart everytime I eat, I was in doubt.
But now, I have made decision not to eat eggs, but I am still not sure that I would be totally without eggs as they are in cookies and cakes too.
Then what you mentioned about dairy milk, I noticed this and I felt when before milking the milkman brought a calf and let him drink milk. Then he forcefully took calf away and sold me milk. I was that time looking at calf that am I drinking his share.
So I will look for substitutes of dairy milk which give me tastes too as I want to enjoy my food too.
I liked that spirituality line also - if you are spiritual, vegetarianism will come naturally. I believe in that too.
But I always like to know things.

SunChild!! This is just separate thanks for you. I am thankful to you to open my eyes and giving me knowledge. I really recalled that calf incident what I had seen myself in India.
I don't say today that I will be Vegan tomorrow but I will try.

Well svirgo, if it helps your guilt about eating eggs, consider this...
A female bird lays an egg and if it's not fertile, she'll eat the shell in order to produce more calcium in preperation for the next batch of eggs she will lay. The male will eat the unfertilized white part to produce more protien for the same reason the female eats the shell. If it is a first clutch, sometimes the birds wil eat the entire clutch, most often the first clutch is like a practice run for the next.
I just had a pair breed, hatch the babies, toss them out of the nest and attack them. It was their first clutch and they didn't know what to do. I tried to rescue them, but they had been on the floor too long and were too cold to survive. I have managed to raise newborns that had been tossed before, I was just a little late in finding these.
So I wouldn't feel too bad about eating them, the birds eat them too.
PS. You will know the egg was fertile if you see any red in the yolk.

You're welcome sVirgo

Nutrition and health are one of my specialties...

Egg yolk has many vitamins and minerals (nearly all of them).
I love cookies and cakes too, and once you go vegan, suddenly, you are very limited.
My body still craves sweets!
But I no longer crave meat.

Hi Philbird!! Yep, the shell is all calcium! I knew someone who used to eat it. Icky! But I think it would be more natural for the bird to eat it. heehee...thanks for sharing.

A chicken will lay eggs even if there is not a male around to fertilize them. It's like us ovulating.
