I agree! We are not sci-fi borgs or mush in the plan of the Divine. The Divine gave us free will-- Will belongs to an ego. The Divine GAVE us the ability to have separation in conscious reality, in order to appreciate I AM-ness, or ego.

Our ego's divine balance-plan, is to have and walk with that ego of me-AM, and be able to walk and talk with 'awareness' of the Mighty I AM Presence INSIDE.

I think part of the challenge for people is to be able to walk in Greatness of what's inside you, without me-Am confusing that the I AM "is" the totality of "me."

If we didn't have an ego, we wouldn't be able to properly exist on earth, and certainly NOT as an immortal. We were created to be Conscious ~~ whether IN the body, or out of the body.

It is releasing all things unreal which do not survive death. This is what you must release from the Ego.

How does one interpret it from a Knowflake point of view.

This world is temporal; probably not a good idea

to be too invested in it.

The answer, imo, is in Ecclesiastes.

It tells us what most have already have picked up on-

that is, there's 'nothing new under the sun.'

History repeats itself because we're stuck (bound, really)

to a plane that is set on an endless loop.

Also, the author (Solomon, I believe) goes on to say this:

"... He [God] has also set eternity in the human heart; yet

no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

So it's no wonder we look, if not long, for immortality.

Cross reference that may give more insight:

Matthew 10:39

"Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses

their life for my sake will find it."

...

To clarify that ^
-

John 15:19

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it

hated you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but

because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out

of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

Aye.

years free of war.”

Will Durant

Man hasn't even mastered himself.

Thanks for posting.

He has an amazing body of work, doesn't he?

And a truly, the heart of a Scorpio.

.

"If there is any intelligence guiding this universe,

philosophy wishes to know and understand it and reverently

work with it; if there is none, philosophy wishes to know

that also, and face it without fear. If the stars are but

transient coagulations of haphazard nebulae, if life is a

colloidal accident, impersonally permanent and individually

fleeting, if man is only a compound of chemicals, destined to

disintegrate and utterly disappear, if the creative ecstasy of

art, and the gentle wisdom of the sage, and the willing martyrdom

of saints are but bright incidents in the protoplasmic pullulation

of the earth, and death is the answer to every problem and the

destiny of every soul--then philosophy will face that too, and try to

find within that narrowed circle some significance and nobility for man."

Hell of a constitution:

Most people run from fear of the unknown,

rather than confront it.

I can't really blame them since I've been

guilty of it, myself.

When you analyse it, it is not even fear. Some people survive for a lifetime in a terrified condition. We just can't break away from our conditioning.

I consider fear and terror to be be closely related.

What is terror, if not protracted fear?

Shakespeare

'A coward dies a thousand times before his

death, but the valiant taste of death but once.'

But what does that have to do with the price of tea

In China?

Christianity, and all religious beliefs are a form of mind control. They want us to be meek and mild. to turn the other cheek and worship a big imaginary man in the sky. But sometimes we forget we are made in the image of the Gods, so we are also all powerful, all knowing, and have infinite wisdom as well as infinite Intelligence.

Hi Jonahc,

And so, with being all powerful, all knowing, and having infinite wisdom ~not to mention, with infinite Intelligence..... If you have and BE all of that, what would you Dream of doing with it? What is the significance to you of being imbued with all that capacity and capability? ...

The way I see it is like... the message is about not being attached to the external things which makes you happy. Kmowing that your life is more than that.

Just knowing that doesn't matter if you go throught hard things, if you have no money or no status or no friends, your soul is as valuable as if you would have that.

So I guess what the quote tries to say is to love your spiritual enlightment and the things your soul is learning in life, more than the superficial aspects of life like your job your country or your reputation.

I guess here life is a sinonim of what pepple would superficially call ' life' , social events, your profession, etc. If you are too attached to those things you may spiritually ' die'.

Tryimg to say... dont get too attached to those things thinking this is what you are, and know that the only thing that will actually last and live, is your soul.

Its my view of the meaning of the quote. But I am confused too about lots of phrases in the Bible specially in the old testament which really seem so threathing and scary.
