Yeah Paras. A birthday celebration (this is how I've explained it to my kiddos) is an important oppertunity for those that love you to express to you their joy that you are here.I make a pretty big deal out of my loved one's birthdays. The celebratrion is something like a spiritual rite. It is our oppertunity to convey our gratitude to you for being here... for being you. I'm sorry; I'm not upset at anyone. Please don't feel that way. It's simply that there are two days of the year -- my birthday, and Christmas -- which really do seem cursed in my life. Something unpleasant happens on or very near to those two dates waaay more often than can be attributed to chance. So it just seems a little, ummm, backward to me, to hear them spoken of as good days. Christmas I don't complain about, because as a holiday it has nothing to do with me, specifically. But my birthday is my own, and I don't "celebrate" it. It should have went unnoticed here... but...IP: Logged |
