Someone just told me that they emailed me, so I went and checked both my addresses. The one I only access on the internet had two emails in the Bulk/Spam folder that claim to be from here. One was from librasparkle@ linda-goodman.com, and the other nephthys@ linda-goodman.com. The space after the '@' symbol is how it's written (I Copied and Pasted the addresses here). I obviously know both of those names from here.

Both the emails are blank except for attachments that are virus infested.

I'm really perplexed how a spammer lifted the 'linda-goodman.com' for the return address. Maybe that's easy. I'm not sure.

Also recently, Aqua told me that he (or she) received a blank email from me. I've never known Aqua's email address.

Something somewhere is fishy, and not in a Piscean sense. I'm guessing it has to be the LL server as it has our email addresses and our screen names. I'm thinking that if it's automated that it's pretty impressive that it knows easily recognizable names to use as the return email addresses. Also, come to think of it, I created acousticgod@sbcglobal.net after becoming a member here.

Thank goodness for yahoo's virus protection.

I think 26T said that she received a blank email from Philbird not that long ago?

You might be on to something AG!

Crazy... Philly told me that she got a blank email from me a couple months back.

I scanned my system for worms, but I'm clean.

That's why I discourage the posting of e-mail addresses. The Mods can't hide theirs, so they get copied and used as SPAM and to deliver viruses.

I got alot of spam from so called people from LL and so did my husband's business!
So perhaps it was just some folks thinking it is funny and nothing to do with us.
Well...it finally stopped.
But now like you folks I too get the weird blank ones now!
So whats up?

I will concur with Randall. The address the email was sent to was not the email address I signed up with. It is one I created specifically for here, that I've posted in many a thread now.

I do still wonder how these spammers are able to use linda-goodman.com as their address. Is that easy to do?

I don't even know your e-mail addy! And why would they go all the way down on the forum list to Heathcliffe's Corner to get mine? Strange. I'm surprised they spelled "Nephthys" right!

I was surprised as well. That's why it seems so deliberate.

Didn't something like this happen a couple of years ago?

I've been spammed with my own email address before, and remember somebody (not from here) having to shut down their website for a long while, because their domain had been used to send a lot of spam.

*edit. Maybe these are what I'm thinking of:
