Since many dont visit the HC section of the forums i thought i would also post this here for more to see and pray for her ...copied from HC ... As many of you know my baby Girl Carrera (puppy) has been thru alot lately. With recovering from a extensive elbow surgery. This morning she had a episode of sorts which leads me and my family to believe she had a siezure (sp?) I have a vet appt for her at 11:30am. Its 10am now. When i explained what happened this morning, the womans response was siezure. I'm so worried about her. Shes been thru so much ... still recovering almost three months later from her surgery and now this. Shes such a sweet lil girl - everyone just loves her. She brings such joy and happiness to anyone that sees her or that she sees. Even when i take her to the vet they all go goo-goo over her. They know her by Name because of everything shes gone thru. Days that she doesnt come to work with me, everyone seems down till they see her smiling, happy go lucky lil face. Please pray for her. Please pray that everything goes well and she'll be okay. She means so much to us. I'll update once i return from the Vet's office. I trust them with all my heart to figure out whats going on with her. And trust they will do everything they can for her. Oh Angel..... so sorry! Do know, even if she has developed epileptic symptoms, she can still lead a very full and happy life When I was about 13, I got a little cocker spaniel puppy, Tammy When she was about 13 weeks old, ( almost exactly 1 week since I had gotten her), I arrived home from school to my Dad, in very worried tones, on the phone... long story short.... she had apparently met one of my horses..... hooves! It was the wierdest thing to see, her eyeball had projected from it's socket Anyway, Miss Tamera was fixed up good, even though she had lost the sight, they saved the eye. All was thought well anyway... when she had reached about age 9, she had her first siezure. We then discovered, from visits to a neurologist, that she had been living in a head with a constant migrain!!!! The eye had never fully recovered, after the extensive swelling it had endured and the extra bulk to it had been sitting on a particular nerve up to that point. The eyeball was, immediately, removed. She was an entirely different dog from that day forward, to a very lovely old but, young again, 17 years. Do not worry Hon! Your little Miss, she is sooo beautiful.... strength in healing and, copeing I will send, with keeping you all in my thoughts ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

Thank you all! Geministone - your post touched my heart. Zactly what i needed to hear. Live a long healthy happy life. I just got so worried about her and scared. We took her in. The vet confirmed that she did have a mild siezure. He felt there was no need for testing at this point. But if it were to happen again, then yes. To find out why. He said that sometimes a dog can be provoked into a siezure, by means of loud noises and being startled. Although this wasnt the case for her. Its hard telling at this point WHY she did have one. And for all we know it was a fluke sorta thing and she may never have one again. Of course getting myself all worked up and prepared for the worst only did damage to myself. She was very brighteyed and alert going in there. And show no after signs of a major siezure. But the doc doesnt doubt what we explained, since it was all the tell tale signs of one. He did inform us that should she have another and be tested for Whatever, that its all treatable by means of medication. So that was relieving to hear. I layed down with her and got some rest from all the emotional trama i put myself thru. I feel much better being able to clear my head and realise all will be okay. She was happy to cuddle up next to momma and not go back to work. Thanks everyone for your prayers - i know each and everyone of them helped out in a big way. You guys are the greatest!! IP: Logged |
