Hi lioneye,I came across this site while doing research on Linda Goodman's Star Signs and joined about a month ago. You are right. Posting photos when no one really knows you is probably premature but I didn't think anyone would find it offensive. Sorry  . I just find the way people look not only being their self-expression but also a clue to many personal traits and past lives in some cases. I think it refers to me. :-/ I'm a relative newbie but I thought a few people were getting to know me from my posts and I thought I would join this thread like everyone else. I've enjoyed starting to get to know people here, I've found the people I've talked to be really nice and I've been getting on here several times a day to 'hang out'!I have a lovely partner of one year, we have lived together for five months and we want to have children in the future, so I don't need any dating links thank you! I've had this reaction before when after two years of people encouraging me and me being shy (not to mention camera shy!), I finally posted a pic on my regular message board - most people were nice but one or two were assholes (even though they were the ones who were obsessed with getting me to post a picture in the first place)! It was sad because some of the things they said really hurt my feelings, when it had taken me a lot of courage to post a picture of myself in the first place (Taurus is one of the most introverted signs, I wish people would remember that). I don't seek attention, in fact I shy away from it... it's not like I'm a triple Leo or anything (joke! I love Leo's, I just don't share their extroverted nature).  Anyway... sorry if my pictures were offensive to anyone - I was just trying to be part of the community (and be humorous about the comment made about not seeing my eyes... looks like it backfired). Come on friends, let's not get personal here. Frankly even I felt bad about certain remarks, but I guess there was nothing personal. When people put in too much effort into building a community, and when they feel others maynot be responding as seriously as they do, it is quite natural to feel bad. Well, Scorpio moon here... my feelings get hurt when people judge me wrongly. So to save myself the hurt and misjudgment I deleted my pictures and probably won't post any more. Anyway! Moving on... after my comment about "not being a triple Leo or anything", I checked my messages and found that a triple Leo friend had brightened my day with a nice message! Wow thank you for your compliments about my pictures,I have a hard time with feeling confident about myself.I am a 20 year old girl living in a world where natural beauty seems to mean nothing anymore.Where I live,all the girls my age look 30 with their makeup,big breasts,skimpy clothes.So after seeing them all dolled up,it makes me look at myself in a negative way,I have always had plain looks,very skinny,small bust,so naturally I stood out as odd looking and got teased for looking like a boy throughout school.But now out of high school,things are semi-different in that area,now I can actually meet some nice fellows that will treat me like the woman i am I just put up a folder in the Lindaland photoshop,there are a few old pics but ill be putting some new funny ones on later Thanks again guys,you really made me feel good about myself.PeaceLoveandLight to youz Eliza http://groups.msn.com/LindalandPhotoShop/shoebox.msnw IP: Logged |

Lioneye speaks for herself.Her prickly welcome embarrasses me, for one,
and I hope it is clear that she does not
speak for the rest of us. I dont know why she was so bitter,
and felt the need to call strangers names,
like "vain", and to goad them. I know people often accuse others of motives which they themselves possess and revile. Most likely, she was imagining what her own reasons might be for posting pics on a new site, and closemindedly attributed them to others. Or maybe she is jealous, I don't know. Maybe she really was just speaking from a misguided sense of justice. I hope so. In any case, its unbecoming, especially for a Leo, whose mission in life is to encourage others to shine, and not to discourage them from shining, at the first opportunity. I dont blame newbies for posting pictures on a thread for posting pictures. Anything that helps us "know" them is worthwhile, and probably more so than seeing pics of the people whom we already have a lot more to go on.

Yeah, that was a bit prickly. Sorry. We get so many transients around here. I've been here for so long, and sometimes the monotony just gets to me -so I go "blah!" on some poor individual. They end up taking the "blah" for everyone that came before them.
So many pics in here of people who never even post. The theme of this thread is "What do our fellow Know-Flakes look like?"I had a simular outburst in the Astro forum, at someone who wanted to know if her and her new love were "meant to be". (We get 20 a week of those) - the monontony gets to me sometimes. Maybe I've been here too long. (too bad, I'm not leaving My Saggie ascendant gets too much food for thought to just abandon ship). I don't mean any harm. I think it was just that someone, who *I* had never heard of, had posted like 5 pics, all looking rather seductive. I'm sure the boys liked it though lol... I can't access my pics on the computer right now, the file is .. I dunno, corrupt or something, so I can't update, nor do I desire to fix it now, it would take too long, and usually shuts down on me.
