It's a humble little home, but it will be ours! I've rented for 12 years, so I've waited a long time for this day. We will be moving in about a month and the anticipation is driving me crazy!

This has been such a full, hectic, working very hard to make things happen kind of year! We're exhausted, but ecstatic. I feel like I'm moving out of a 10 year rut and I don't even know what to think.

Just wanted to share!

Congrats .

Now sorry if it sounds as if I am being nosey (just curious Lol!)

Is it a semi-detached or a detached house? Is it newly built? (i.e. around a newly constructed community? My brothers and I bought ours at Rouge Park at a very resonable price.)

Thanks a bunch guys! We're having so much fun planning all the remodeling and stuff. I can't wait to get in and do something!

I'll let you all know how it goes.

MCM: I'm a Sag/Sag w/ Libra moon.
Xodian: The house is at least 75 years old. The last residents lived there their whole lives and kept it up very well. Detached? I don't know what this means. Can you explain?

Well a detached house is a single unit; A house that isn't attached to its neighbouring house . So I am guessing that it is a detached unit then Lol!

Again congrats on landing a nice piece of real-estate. How's the community BTW? Nice folks I hope Lol!

detached, then. It's an okay neighborhood. I'm from a smaller town and this is the largest city around here. Not real big at all. Just bigger than I'm used to.

We call the ones that are attached Condos or Townhouses in the States, Xodian.

But I knew what you meant.

Moving into a new home is very exciting, future_uncertain. I flashed back as you were speaking of it. I love new furniture and carpet and decorating in general. Hate painting though.

What is equally exciting is getting the mortgage finally paid off as we did last year.

Thethirdbenjamin:

Scarbrough actually . Rouge park is a nice little community not that far off from the U of T campus. Lovely place.

Mirandee:

Lol! We call em the same thing but I usually stick to the more technical terms for the units.

Congratulations, future_uncertain; how wonderful for you & your family!! I think this calls for a celebration, don't you?

ben & Xodian, I'm a Canadian too; did high school in Mississauga (one year in Ottawa) & graduated from the U of T. Lived in Scarborough briefly too.. this Canadian lives down South these days though, and gets teased for the "ehs" i drop occasionally, and anything Canadian that comes out of me mouth..
