GG I like your fruits.Fruit is so amazing. Nothing is more delicious than fresh fruit fresh off the tree. Fruit shows me that god does want us to be happy and experience pleasure. Fresh raspberries. For me happiness is more about serenity and peace than about ebullience and joy. I think the ocean is a wonderful symbol of infinity and calm.... IP: Logged |

Oh, BR, I love that picture of the ocean. Gorgeous and I fully agree. Nature makes me happy and I love being by the water. It gives me a very peaceful feeling. I especially love creeks and waterfalls. The sound of a creek is so peaceful. And now after looking at all this water I have to go pee.

Pid I'm doing great. Thanks for asking. I am also very happy for Lisa and the kids. Lisa has just closed on a new home for her and the kids. The kids love it and it's in my neighborhood so that makes it convenient for all of us. Lisa is so happy and that makes me very happy. Real nice home too. Seems like you and Lisa both are starting a whole new beginning after a long, hard road and I am so happy for both of you. When I say long hard road for you I am speaking of you and Bear being separated for so long and your surgery. These new beginnings and new homes for you both couldn't have happened to more deserving and nicer people than the two of you. Once the storms are over the sun always shines, hey. IP: Logged |

I love those little European homes, they make me smile. It looks like the perfect "nest" for the two of you!I went and picked fresh raspberries this week with a friend and the children. It was so much fun, and boy were they tasty I had to hide the last few cups so I had some to freeze. ------------------ The deeper we look into nature, the more we recognize that it is full of life, and the more profoundly we know that all life is a secret and that we are united with all life that is in nature. --Albert Schweitzer IP: Logged |

Lovely home, Pid I also get a very cozy feel and love the earthiness of the setting. Love all those trees!! It's wondeful. I bet you can't wait to get moved in and start fixing it up the way you want. Same with Lisa. It's so thrilling!! I love the decorating part. Hate the moving. IP: Logged |

Ecclesiastes 3 A Time for Everything 1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. This is basically true, although I feel that killing/dying is just a part of this reality/ illusion, as is the age-old battle between the "positive" and "negative"- the two poles.

Regarding the picture in question that Star posted that has been brought up on this thread twice. What do I see in the picture? Look at the contentment in the woman's face. That and the smiley faces around her and the words I see happy people. The woman is in an electric chair facing death. So the whole picture represents to me that even in dire situations and in the bad things that happen in our lives we can still maintain a happy and positive outlook on life if we choose to do so. We can dwell on the negative things in our lives or we can think of and dwell on the positive things. This woman in the picture is facing death with a positive outlook. When others attack us and judge us and accuse us of intentions which we know not to be our true intentions or character ( putting us in an electric chair so to speak by condemning us ) we can choose to become angry and hostile or we can choose to just be happy about life. It depends on our outlook on life what we see and it depends on our outlook what we see in this picture. The picture is not weird. It represents a positive outlook in a very negative situation. How you view life and other people might be how you view paintings such as this one??? Something to think about. I see it positively and obviously so did Star when she posted it on a Happy thread. I like the passage you posted here, LTT I also agree with what you said about dying and so does OSHO. I just posted an article here about Death and Dying from OSHO's writings where he says what you just did. It depends on our outlook in life how we face death. It should be a happy time if we have the outlook that it is just as much a natural part of life as being born in and living our life. It's only a sad time for us depending on how we have lived our life. But it will always be a sad time for those who love us and don't want to lose us in their lives. IP: Logged |

I asked the same thing about this picture. No one bothered to reply to my query. Very disturbing unhappy picture. See how she has cut the words into the flesh of her arm. That is not the act of a content woman bravely facing her death. Her face is resigned, nearly emotionless. She does not care anymore. She has gone beyond feeling into a catatonic state, staring zombie like into nothing. The images around her are not happy for her, but are gloating or happy to see her finally give up. Here is my initial inquiry and comments from page 2. I am not making any digs here. I only responded to one unprovoked one. I do however have a question. Is there anything wrong with that? I found this picture posted by Solane on another happy thread. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002811.html I found it extremely disturbing and not even a happy image. The woman is surrounded by her inner demons and has carved into her own flesh the word happy which is bleeding. She is also in an electric execution chair. Why was such a disturbing picture posted on a happiness thread? ------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes. What I see in that picture is that FLAMING I in that lady's heart / chest. For me it is very symbolic - when the outside factors are trying to sway you - only the within can help - look within to the inner flame. The way I see it - those outside factors may be happy, sad, threatening, scary, loving - whatever whatever, and even kinda brain washing - that FLAMING I "within" can be TRUE! My personal view point - from my personal life and it's experiences! ------------------ SattvicMoonz Home Page and Blog IP: Logged |

Wow, Sattvic!! That is something that escaped my eye. The flaming I. Thank you so much for pointing that out and yes!!! What you stated about it is so very true, in my opinion. It is never other people or outside factors that are the problem. The problem in within us. It's never outside factors that affect us but how we inwardly perceive them. It always comes back to the "I." It all depends on how we alone choose to see things or we alone choose to let them affect our well being. A heart spirtually on fire with love, compassion and empathy will always choose to see the positives in the worse situations in life. A heart on fire with love. Love of God, or the Great Other, and love for all. It always comes back to the "I" or the inner self. I love your interpretation of that and I personally believe that is so very true, Sattvic. Go look folks. The artist who did that painting was not thinking anything of that kind. The artist is very into anti-Christian imagery, and very deranged and psychotic imagery. Perhaps folks should not judge me and others here who found that picture disturbing. Look here before you imply I am not happy because I saw no happiness in that picture.... and rethink why anyone would find it a positive image. http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/abughraib2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/adam2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/alan.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/alienblond2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/anotherwoman2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/approve2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/baldjesus.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/box.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/chip2.htm http://www.eddiebreen.com/pages/cheesus2.htm Home: http://www.eddiebreen.com/ http://eddiebreen.com/abouteddie/abouteddie.html ------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes. Look, folks, never mind what the picture meant. The intentions behind posting it were good.I think the main clue to indicate that what fayte saw was closer to what the artist was portraying is the word 'HAPPY' self mutilated into her own arm. A happy, balanced person does not do that (no offense to anyone- even birds pluck their own feathers out when subjected to stress). I think this thread is a lovely idea- let's spread the good vibes, and always compassion! IP: Logged |
