quote: Btw, cheating in animals or primates is related to testes size as well.
So basically when we meet a potential mate we should ask them to immediately drop their undies so that we can have a better idea as to their faithfullness. Depending on the size of them, could be a test of our own faithfullness. Ah, shocker! IP: Logged |

quote: Selection of a mate is essential because they want fertile and viable offspring. Women cheat in order gain a better father for their offspring. If the other man is better than the partner, then the woman will cheat to gain the benefit of better genes and use the parter to raise the child. Win-win situation for the child. This is what cuckoos do with their eggs, lay it in other birds' nests.Men cheat because their sperm is cheap and numerous. Their goal is to produce viable and fertile offspring and the way they do this is by trying fertilise as many females as possible that allow them to compete against each other and other successful males.
23, where did you get that from? Cant comment on the womens bit too much, you would know better, but spot on with the find better offspring and get the other guy to pay for it malarky. It is clever and obviously thinking of the child, but just wrong. Mens (Their) goal is to produce viable and fertile offspring No, our goal is the hole, whichever one. Pleasure. Some may have that fathering instinct and spread the seed type stuff, but many dont want children and the expense that normally comes with paying for someone elses kid. Thanks for that, it made me laugh IP: Logged |

Kick It - it's basic biology. Maybe you consider what I wrote is stupid but go read something like Richard Dawkins (The Selfish Gene) and it might explain it in there. Sex is pleasurable for a reason, it promotes reproduction through engaging people in sex. Pleasure is the reward for sex. Men don't want to reproduce mentally maybe but biology and the processes of life say otherwise. IP: Logged |

PeaceAngel, to answer your question- If the woman cheats, she is at fault, not the pawn she used to get it done. Self control is the issue, and no one should receive blame for another's actions. So even as ineffective of a husband, lover, friend a woman may have, at least in this regard he isn't such an extreme of moral corruption. If he is worth cheating on, then he is worth leaving, so just dump the guy first for the sake of respect. If I were in a relationship and found out I was being cheated on, I would never consider attacking the guy, because it isn't his fault. My cheating girlfriend is the guilty party, period. SWCompletely agree with you on everything you've said. I feel the same way. It's always interesting to get the view from the opposite sex. Even more interesting when we agree. However, for every one like us out there there's someone who will disagree - or as Kick's stats show - are cheating. I can't believe those figures are so high. Logistically speaking, that would mean that the women next door (both sides) could be cheating on their husbands. Really peculiar when you look at it like that. IP: Logged |

Dawkins says one thing, other biologists say another. Psycholgists have a reason as do lots of other ologists including astrolgers.Lots of different versions. Men like sex. Many Men do not like using condoms. Some women (oops) forget to take the pill. Combination of factors. If that is really what Dawkins thinks, you have persuaded me not to buy his book. Thanks I agree with whoever that the cheating person should get the blame, not the woman/man who took him/her away. Its silly to blame them because the person you are with should have the self-control to remain there, or do the decent thing.
To have a go at Angelina moreso than Brad is silly of her. IP: Logged |

Yeah no sh*t, everyone likes sex. I've given you the reasons why and I said earlier on in the thread that biology is not the only way society works, there's other layers there (such as the rush of endorphins that a psychologist or endocrinologist might tell you about) that operate on an individual level. You've pretty much agreed to what I said. However, don't discount basic biology as well because that sits below everything else because it is evolutionary. You don't ignore a retrograde planet do you Kick It?IP: Logged |

If I say I ignore a retro planet, that could casue a mess, so will leave it there. Who is discounting biology? Yes we agree and disagree, but just about on the same page quote:

Just out of curiousity - for the guys here. In relation to Ange and Jen - how much does how attractive you find either of them sway the side you take on the issue?I know it may be hard to objectively answer a question that may be based on subjectivity. But.... I'm curious. IP: Logged |

PeaceAngel-Obviously I've shown my stance to be a general rule that I follow. I responded to this thread because of the core issue of "misdirected vengeance", and I don't follow the nonsense in Hollywood. Of course I don't know these women personally, and even if I followed Hollywood tabloid trash, I wouldn't be inclined to believe it. So to answer your question, my choices of Jennifer versus Angelina are based purely on looks, and I would take Jennifer every time. IP: Logged |

SWI think that people are swayed by looks. It's easy for society to taken Angelina's side on many issues because she's beautiful to the masses. How many other less prolific and less physically beautiful women have taken up the same causes before Ange and not received anywhere as much focus (or praise). It seems to me that the prettier you are considered the more voice you are given. Or, the more people are inclined to stop and hear what you've got to say - regardless of the value. As for the girls, specifically, I wouldn't choose either of them. I wouldn't even take Brad Pitt. IP: Logged |

Agreed PA. Beauty definitely buys power, as you say Ange is recognised by the masses as a beauty. Do you seriously think that Duran would be so successful if they weren't so pretty? LOLIP: Logged |

SWThis is somewhat off topic, but as a woman I'm always curious as to what/who men find attractive. Given other choices would Jen still be your preference? 23 I don't think Duran Duran would have been successful at all if they didn't have looks. But then, with boy bands, it only takes one looker to carry the rest. Would Brad Pitt have been given the opportunity to show his acting worth if he didn't have the looks to begin with? Philip Seymour Hoffman is an amazing actor but he doesn't get the kudos because he's not really one of the beautiful people. I find him attractive. I'd take him over Brad Pitt any time. IP: Logged |

I think generally speaking that Jen fan's will blame Ange and Ange fans will say Jen wasn't right for Brad, or something along those lines. I don't think there can be objectivity there. People will sway the argument to support their personal feelings, regardless of any truth. If Brad did indeed cheat on Jen, then that's his doing and responsibility - regardless.

I was actually surprised to see that some males supported by males on news.com.au's article yesterday. I thought Jen was considered "uncool" by both sexes. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/story/0,26278,24640004-7485,00.html Brad Pitt is technically a good actor I think but yes, it's his little piece in Thelma and Louise that got him where he is, ie exposure of his chest with that cowboy hat. Duran wouldn't have been as successful as they were if they weren't as attractive. They were both pretty and struck at the right time. Already discussed the Duran v Japan thing. I'm gonna get so caned for this but I'll say that I would trade every bit of brains for beauty and a functioning level just above comatose. Beauty can buy you everything almost I find. I've watched males that I've known and you can do anything you want provided you are good looking. Please correct me if I'm wrong boys, just my observations so far in life. IP: Logged |

Well yeah, there is a bit of blame from each side but some Ange fans on that link thought Ange was uncool to get involved with Pitt. It seems to be the two arguments of "Ange gave Brad the family he wanted" and "Jen was his wife so she gets first dibs". I've had this fight with my mum IP: Logged |

I'm not really a fan of either. If Ange & Brad did get together before he separated from Jen, yeah, that's uncool. But why would Jen reveal that to the public? She must have an agenda of her own there.IP: Logged |
