There is this garden that was created back in 1612 by a Florentine queen and has all those beautiful flowers with their intoxicating aromas and a large pond in the middle and this romantic Medici fountain with Acis and Galatea and an orchard and...a rose garden.
In this garden you can see so many beautiful queens coming back to life through the magical hands of Rodin and Bartholdi... And the most beautiful of all...this one here...  IP: Logged |

In the 1900 Paris Exhibition, this great sculptor, Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, displayed and then donated the bronze statue, inspired by the mythical Colossus of Rhodes, that served as the model for the Statue of Liberty to the Luxembourg Museum. It was placed in the Luxembourg Gardens in 1906 at the request of the sculptor's widow and was finally transferred to the Musée d'Orsay in 2012…  IP: Logged |

The Statue of Liberty stands next to an oak tree planted in 2002, a gift by the American community in Paris, and beneath there is this plaque that reads…  IP: Logged |
