I am not willing to turn the power over to government to determine which INNOCENT people have the right to life and which don't.I'm not willing to turn the power over to the courts/judges to set standards for a "sufficient quality of life" to keep people who are innocent of any wrongdoing alive.
I'm not willing to turn the power over to doctors, lawyers, nursing home administrators OR relatives to determine what constitutes "sufficient quality of life" to keep a person alive.
I'm not willing to turn the power over to ANYONE to make value judgments on termination of innocent life based on "quality of life", costs, convenience or inconvenience or any other reason.
Every step down that road brings us closer to the day a multitude of different reasons could be raised and sanctioned to decide some innocent person or a hell of a lot of innocent persons have lived long enough and their lives terminated by judicial fiat or decree.
Neither you nor I, nor anyone else knows what a persons spirit is saying or desiring.
For all we know, those in long term comas are off in their heads having a ball, seeing things they never saw in this life, living in a dream world of their own making and choosing.
