Yeah, Randall -

I agree with lioneye68. From my reading, you see pretty fair and balanced.

We all express ourselves differently. That's all. It is okay to let our feelings get ruffled sometimes, I suppose (normal) - but holding a grudge? That's not cool. Of course, that is part of the Aries nature, so it comes naturally to me.

With those who are more blunt (male signs), at least there are no hidden agendas and big games going on. Not ALL bad, but maybe appears more insensitive to some. I find it easier to know where I stand.

When someone really offends or hurts you, take a deep breath and think about something else.

Lecturing. That's what I am doing.

If someone says something that could be interpreted as insulting toward me, I just assume they've misunderstood something I've said, or my intent in saying it, because I very rarely have ill will toward anyone.
And the funny thing is, when I really do get steamed it's usually in defence of someone else. You can hurl all you want at me...I'm pretty thick skinned, but I cannot tolerate hypocracy and hyper-judgemental people. "Let him who is without fault cast the first stone", "He who lives in a glass house should not go around throwing stones"... and all that stuff. For some reason, I only seem to recognize those things when I'm on the outside of a situation, and not actually the one who it's directed at.

On the otherhand, some people are just a$$holes, so they deserve it.

Lioneye~ Do you have any other planets in Leo? What you said was so very typical of the sign ( understand that when I say 'typical' I don't mean it in an ordinary fashion) Also very Libran, but you are too fixed/strong in opinion to have much Libra, I'd say.

Key ~ Hey there, Welcome back!

Yeah, Pixelpixie all my personal planets are in Leo. So that's sun, merc, venus & mars. Moon in Aquarius opposes them all.

Thanks, Lioneye and Key! I didn't mean to sound like I was putting down discussion boards that allow aggression and strong language. Such places do serve a purpose. It's just not our purpose. I'm sure Jwhop enjoys the venting he gets to do at various political boards.

But then, JWhop is the coolest of the cool. Even at his most controversial, he is just so interesting. He is an asset to any discussion board, cause he gets people thinking. Plus, he is a leo. And he is smart. And has great style. Just my thoughts.

Aries Moon? Lioneye, yes that was me. I did say a few things to Key because I felt it necessary to jump in and defend some people that had been receiving the brunt of some very condescending remarks. Whether it was right or wrong, my Aries moon did compel me to jump in.

People have to be somewhat politically correct while still being able to express their views. If I call someone a derogatory name for being a homosexual would you say it is offensive?

What about if I started calling people racially offensive names?

It would be wrong and I do not have the right to offend someone just because I have the right to free speech.

Our word is what people take us as. In that I mean, I have / had a friend that stated he used racial slurs as a way of shocking people. Hmmm, to me he is still a racists. If someone yells "I like drugs...I like drugs" do we think that person may have a drug problem? More that likely we do because why else would they say it?

If someone states" All women are stupid, should be barefoot, pregnant and cooking a meal for us men", wouldn't we think of them as a chauvanist? I think that person is entitled to their belief, but once it is stated it is open for others to comment.

There is a point where things become crude, where as adults we really don't need to dip into that type of cess or else we only prove to make ourselves look like fools.

Think about the person that always had to cuss. We all know people like that, and one has to think, don't they have anything intelligent to say other than every other work starting with F and rhyming with duck?

I am not perfect, which has already been pointed out on other threads (LOL), but I do try to think about what I say and if I do hurt someones feelings I apologize. If I think they are full of it, then I'll thank them for their contribution and go on my merry way. LOL

As far as men and women:

I think men show their feelings just fine, and maybe even a bit too much. It could be that I seem to be surrounded by Cancer moons and they like to show what they feel. I have more masculine qualities which motivates me to keep my feelings deep inside unless I am writing. I have become more open in the past few years, but it is still hard.

Many of the men I have known and been friends with seem to open up to me and almost get clingy. I am not sure if I convey the feeling that I am understanding and not going to judge them for their emotions, but I seem to see more men cry than most women (it doesn't mean I am special) it is just something that I have noticed.

Now, when it comes to animals and kids, I am extremely sensitive and open. It's kind of weird how that works. LOL

Hi pidua -

Not trying to speak for lioneye, but - you know how some signs are masculine:

Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius

and some are feminine:

Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorio, Capricorn, Pisces?

These are just astrological terms. The masculine sign is direct and energetic; a feminine sign is receptive and magnetic. I believe these masculine and feminine atrtributes were given to the signs thousands of years ago. Hopefully, most of us try to avoid the sexism in these distinctions. Generally, the masculine signs are strong through action and the feminine signs are more self-contained.

I think that is what Lioneye was referring to - the behavior deemed by sign according to masculine / feminine terminology. Lioneye wasn't the one to come up with assigning signs with these labels.

I have a lot of masculine signs in my chart. But, hey - we both have an Aries moon, pidua!

It's funny, because when I found out up there that you were indeed an Aries, I thought, 'hey, isn't that what I said?' and looked for that thread. I mustn't have looked hard enough, cuz I came up emptyhanded. Thanks for the kudo's. I actually had a few different guesses posted, but the last thing you wrote got me thinking Aries for sure! It's good practice for real life.

Hi Pix -

You couldn't find the thread because it got locked up, for being contentious. Lots of people weren't roaring with laughter over some of my comments. Oh well. You win some; you lose some. Tough toenails.

I have a question, does male energy necessarily have to be in the form of a male body? (My thoughts are probably not, anywho). Seems the common perception of whatever "male" is has manifested itself in the discussion amongst women. Ah well guys . Have a great Tuesday.

P.S. Zumm . . . don't answer Just me thinking on a cloud today.

OOPS too late

Well, yes. Otherwise it's just an assertively/aggressively expressed female's viewpoint. It's nice to have the other 50% of the population's (i.e., males) contribution as well, because sometimes they have the truly objective viewpoints, even on woman's issues. It's good to know what THEY think. We already know what WE think.

Also, I recall reading somewhere that the more "masculine" signs a woman has in her make-up, the more she'll require interaction with males, and the more "feminine" signs a man has in his make-up, the more he'll require interaction with females.

It's very helpful as a means of coping with all the masculine energy within a female existance, and vise-versa.

Uuuh, the p.s. got in too late. Anywhoos some more.

In my own thoughts, gender is a social construction. From the astrology that I've read, most think differently about that. Though these days my own belief in the stars, is wanning. The idea that we are neither men nor women, but both simultaneously would probably find favor with only a small minority of people. I entertain it and I like it, the culture of the mind and speech transcribed into living reality. The culture of the unconscious mind, mmm . . . what would they say about gender? A whole Universe that is the stuff dreams and nightmares are made of.

Just my own thoughts. Not looking for any debate.

Peace

Aph.

Hey lioneye

You think it's tough being a guy on a site overrun with women? He he, it's Leo paradise Surprised Randall doesn't try to charge me admission Just kidding Randall

Hello key. I read your piece on the other thread that got locked and thought your commentary on the various signs was funny. I've seen links here to sites that just ripped the signs with various slanders without a peep of dissent. Of course, I get along with Leo, Aries and Aquarius well and usually understand where they're coming from. Have a lot of Leo and Mars in Aries myself so I know when it's all in fun and when it's an attack. Leo and Aries know those things Your energy seems very easy and familiar so maybe we've crossed paths somewhere in the far or recent past. Going to save your comments to pull out the next time someone says I'm a $#@^&^ so and so Thanks

Give a Leo a compliment, and they just slobber all over you to sing your praises ............... Okay, now THAT was funny!!!! Just kidding, in fact, Leo and Libra are my two most favorite signs.. in all honesty! My hubby is an Aries too, so I totally understand their tendancy to talk first, then follow it up with a rational thought. I love talking to Libras, we are usually on the same wavelength, and Leos radiate this honesty and sex appeal that I recognize and adore. I have Leo rising, so I am entitled to make comments about slobbering without getting a tongue lashing.... (HEE HEE)

Ahhh, yin vs yang... What can I say? I kind of understand what your saying Aphrodite, but I too will not accept that. I am male. I do have feminine and masculine parts, but I am a male. I have Leo mars so occasionally I can act leonine, but it is very rare and powerless. I usually dislike extremes in people, but tend to the people that can balance themselves, neither fem or masc. I like feminine girls, but I always sense their power - though I wouldn't call this masculine. Masculine guys though just annoy me. I wouldn't call myself a masculine influence on this site, or feminin for that matter, but just who I am. Most of the guys I talk to about esoteric matters seem to cringe. Hence I have developed a dislike of society (plus my 30). My dads a perfect example of a Leo. We don't really get on at all, and I don't care. He has his own life. The last present I bought him was a gag-gift book called "Golf Astrology" which I thought was witty as "it was the only golf book he didn't have", but he thought differently. Since then, and for the next two years I have resolved to buy him vouchers. My sister bought him a beer mug that changes colour (using batteries) which he LOVES, but I think is the stupidest thing I've seen, and everyone knew he wouldn't use it! I also got him a 4-in-1 remote control which he didn't like because he apparantly liked his 3 remotes.

I just think people can lose site of what they say or who they are. Some people are more offended than others. My whole thing is positivity. Who in the world needs negativity? It seems only negative people who sub-consiously try to steal positivity, but instead create more negativity. I think they then realise there's nothing else to say to that person, and then move on. Yeah, freedom of speech is great, sharing of ideas and experiences are awesome, but I do NOT accept negativity.

Dean.

Key, I am the one who locked that string (by popular demand at the time), but I wanted to just tell everyone to lighten up! Must have been something in the transits. Personally, like Jwhop, I thought your comments were either funny or thought-provoking, or both.

Bauschd, your dad doesn't sound like a very evolved Leo. I know sometimes Leos can be very stubborn and narrow minded. It comes with the territory of being a fixed sign. I'll bet he has a fixed moon and/or ascendant as well.
Well, I hope he hasn't completely turned you off of Leos altogther. Give us another chance, man! We're not all bad.

I find that I always have trouble buying gifts for my dad too. Older men can be so hard to please. They don't get excited about much.

Hmmmmm, signs and presents.

My Dad is a Cappy with a Cancer moon and just loves when we remember his birthday. I always get him a book about American Indian stuff or a fine piece of art (mostly Southwestern). I collect the same, so we are pretty easy to buy for most of the time. I also know that my dad has a sentimental streak and likes when we remember things.

Out of the blue I bought the Willie Nelson CD "Essentially Willie Nelson". It's a 2 CD set and I kept wanting to hear Seven Spanish Angels. My bro, dad and I would blast it on road trips when we were kids. So, I got one for him and gave it to him last week. He was touched because he had been looking for that very song on one of his old tapes. LOL... Also, my Dad, being a Cappy, means NO SECOND HAND STUFF. My brother, sometimes such a sag, will send my dad used stuff. It really torks him off even though little bro thinks it's kind of funny.

My mom just loves when I make her things. She gets all sentimental and weepy...that's my double crabby mommy. Oh yeah, and chocolate!

Leo's can be hard to buy for (just like Virgos). My Leo guy has a Virgo mom and never knows what to buy her so he doesn't get her anything. On a trip to San Antonio I found a beautiful pweter candle piece that cast the shadow of the Alamo. I convinced him to buy it for her and she just went nuts. Virgo's LOVE quality and functionality.

Mr. Leo is a bit harder. I buy him his favorite music and make him pouches for hunting. He also like fine whiskey and my wacky homemade birthday cards. But praise...that works quite well too.

For me the Sag? Well, I like foot treatments. It helps the taste when I stick my foot into my mouth like we so often do. LOL...I am just kidding..well not really.
