The essential thing to remember about 12th house placements is that they grant the native a lot of power and influence over others, but the native simply isn't aware of their own abilities. The 12th house rules all things hidden, so in effect, a large part of the persons mind is even hidden from themselves. 12th house people are afraid of the dark, and lots of other things. We have incredibly rich imaginations and will take any small hint of fear and let it spiral out of control.

Unfortunately, those with 12th house suns must go through a great deal of isolation and loneliness, but many of us like it this way. At times we may get VERY discouraged and feel like ending it all. But a 12th house sun is a do over life, it means we may have committed suicide or not fulfilled our karma in the past life, so therefore we are repeating events, which means you CANNOT take the easy way out, or you'll hvae to do it all over again. The 12th house is the "DO OVER" house, our president has a 12th house sun, and he has a lot of power an sway, but he also is very deluded and deceptive in many ways, and also his presidency really is a "DO OVER" presidency to rectify his fathers failure in Iraq.

Many astrologers think that 12th house folks are very close to the gates of nirvana, at least in respect to whatever planet lies in that house, the end of a cycle is nearly complete. The 12th house person must endure the suffering and pain of whatever placement is in that house. If its a 12th house mars, you absorb all the anger around you, a 12th house moon, all the negative emotions etc etc. 12th house suns just get the whole kit and kaboodle.

Young 12th house suns will fall into some seedy situations and befriend some possibly unsavory people. We are drawn to a darker sort of energy, and we have a martyr complex. We like unhappy people because we think we can help them, or maybe we identify with them because we're intenrally unhappy quite often. We're also drawn to drug users, especially alcoholics, and also people who have borderline mental disorders. The 12th house person NEEDS to have 8th house and 4th house people around, or scorpios and cancers, to channel their energy into different avenues. The 8th house person can let the 12th house person see who they really are, and the 4th house person can teach us how to use our powers for the benefit of those we care about.

The 12th house is an incredibly powerful position, but it can also be very deceptive. One must be very careful about who one makes friends with, as we make enemies VERY easily. People often find a disliking to us for no apparent reason. They subconsciously fear our power and insights, of which we aren't even aware. The key to this house is bringing things into the OPEN. Imagine the sun hidden behind a veil, with only a few rays breaking through, then one day someone realizes the sun is there and pulls back the veil, revealing the full light of day. This is what the 12th house does to whatever planets lies there, it mutes that planets energy.

12th house people must pull back the veil. We are so inclined to withdraw from the world because we are so sensetive and easily hurt. We must stab through maya (illusion) to see the light of day. We get discouraged and wallow in self pity. But this is simply illusion, the 12th house needs to learn how to absorb all the good and bad energy they receive and add channel it towards to their incredible intuitive powers.

Wow what a description, so true with a 12th house Moon and Mars...

Yes a very beautiful description and so accurate. I was told that one of my past lives did end in suicide... I do attract needy people that try to drain me of my energy. My martyr complex used to be quite profound in my younger years, I've gotten better about shielding myself from negativity.

Indeed it does...

Has anyone else felt that it took them awhile to grow into the soul? Example, I felt very shy/withdrawn as a child and then a little confused as a teen. After my Saturn return a few years ago, things started falling into place.

My 12th house planets are finally creeping out of the closet & expressing themselves fully. At last I have grown into my soul/life purpose and have a pretty good idea of who I am and what my journey entails.

I have a 12th house sun and i feel like I always have to strive to be myself. And after a long time spent with lots of people, I have to have a time alone. And my childhood was rather lonely, but I did'nt suffer... But it was a little bit lonely.

Edgar cayce past life report based on your natal chart.

It says i lived in atlantis! Cool.

Sun trine Jupiter Orb 2° 40'

Upon entering the earth plane this lifetime, you came under the positive influence of Jupiter, from your experience in that ennobling realm between lifetimes. You are likely, then, to be attractive in appearance and to have a disposition which leads you naturally to make friends while being slow to anger. Yet when anger does take hold, you are mad all the way through, and are very adept at expressing how you really feel.

Your greater success and soul development in the present will probably come through opportunities to be associated with a lot of people, especially in the business world. Meeting a lot of individuals and making friends with many of them, together with your nobility of purpose, will offer you the way through which you will reach the maximum overall spiritual growth this lifetime.

You also love learning and knowledge for their use in bettering conditions for yourself as well as others. The strongest force for good will come, however, through keeping yourself attuned to the divine within through meditation, prayer and other experiences of spirituality which will be yours. Yet in service for others will the greatest blessings come. So stay physically, mentally and spiritually fit so as to serve the more.

Bear in mind too that you have high potentials for leadership, being naturally interested in social and political matters, like who is 'in' and who is 'out' in terms of influence on a variety of different levels. You are also given to successful dealings with groups, including special potentials for public speaking. In fact, you should be able rather easily to move others through your sincerity and the basic impulse of your audience. That is, you can influence others from their immediate 'gut' response to how well you know and how strongly you feel about your subject. [641-1]

Sun is in an inharmonious aspect with Neptune Orb 2° 15'

You are very unusual, highly intuitive and psychic. You should be closely associated with those who study such phenomena from the spiritual viewpoint, rather than purely academically, as phenomena only. You are a dreamy soul and certainly should keep a dream journal: through your dreams, meditations and even daydream-reveries you have a natural mode of expression in which you can be a source of helpful guidance. Through recording your dream life you can warn and guide many other people, as well as yourself.

You are highly emotional, almost obsessive at times, yet very calm at others. This shifting of feelings is rooted in your difficulty in seeing clearly where your emotions are involved. This can result in self-deception upon occasion, and should be balanced by a focus on spiritual principles and ideals rather than metaphysical ideas.

While sincerity is a very important virtue to you, others do not always interpret your actions in this way. One reason for the disillusionment that comes with your likely conflict between integrity and deceitfulness is your tendency to be continually seeking that which is just beyond your grasp. This mystical, spiritual perfectionist attitude on one hand makes it difficult for projects to be completed, while on the other at times causes others to doubt both your intentions and your real abilities. In turn, you may begin to seriously doubt them too.

While going even most of your life appearing to be peculiar to other people and rarely understood, you have exceptional spiritual insight concerning soul development in the earth plane. You are one whom others may be greatly benefited through their contact with you.

You should also stay close to water, yet not deep water like that crossed during long voyages. The water influence from Neptune will always be strong in your body-mind and will help keep you tuned to a higher spiritual consciousness.

As a writer, the kind of unusual story you might excel in would have to do with the sea on one hand, say the situation of castaways on a South Sea isle. Alternatively, you could write imaginatively about souls in a purely spiritual or holy life, such as monks, nuns, priests and others who have taken celibacy vows yet are faced with the demands of the material world.

As a remedial measure to balance out vibratorily the challenges described above, wearing the pearl would be well. [2175-1, 2533-1, 2448-2, 2746-1, 2346-1, 1261-1, 2331-1, 1434-1]

Your Moon is conjoined with Venus. Orb 6° 37'

You are an artistic and romantic type of person, a natural quality you probably inherited from past lives where you were socially active and involved with the arts in some way.

Also, from one or more experiences between lives in the Venus dimension of love and beauty, you are physically attractive and have a pleasing personality .

Venus is the realm of afterlife awareness which is most similar to the earth, especially as regards material desires and emotions. Therefore with your Venusian background from past lives as well as between lives, you are likely to have an intense, earthy yet subconscious sensuality. (Incidentally, males with this pattern tend to select a mate especially for her sex appeal and physical beauty.)

Also, there may be times when your somewhat intense sexuality and desire nature need balance. This can be accomplished by applying your will to spiritualize your relationships through setting and consistently applying high moral standards and ideals.

For instance, you might pray (although in your own words), 'I feel a close kinship with all living things, for their beauty is reflected in my own sensitive nature. Lord, may I be blessed with a loving disposition without falling prey to situations that demand nothing less than total personal involvement. Protect me from soliciting the attentions of others for selfish reasons. With Your love to guide me, Lord, I pray that I may learn how to express my feelings in appropriate ways.'

Your Moon is in an inharmonious pattern with Ura. Orb 2° 2'

Uranus is the Atlantean planet, the dimension of originality and extremes, and the Moon is our 'way station' between planetary sojourns. As such, the Moon is our reservoir of past life emotion and karma. You chose a birthtime when your afterlife soul experiences in the Moon and Uranus dimensions were in conflict through the difficult aspect pattern between them. This challenging aspect calls forth from your akashic chronicle challenges to face in your emotional life. The most likely original roots of this emotional karma lies in a long-ago lifetime in Atlantis.

Having an intense, strong-willed, independent personality, you are likely to be drawn between experiences that are extreme. Hence there have probably been periods in your life when financial or material things could be described as having been very good and very bad, very pleasing yet very often sad. You may often be ruled by judgments concerning financial matters, yet there are other times when such judgments appear not to matter at all.

In other words, you may often be financially preoccupied, yet allow generosity toward your friends and family to override rational decision making. There may be, then, an instability at times, when you are motivated by sentiment or friendship without even the appearance of reason.

Because of these tendencies, it will be very important for you to set your personal spiritual goals and ideals regarding your relationships, then stick to them. Your choice of companions throughout your life will be as critical as your choice of ideals to help you stay on the right track.

First study yourself inwardly, through prayer, meditation and dreamwork. Know your motives; that is, what are the real reasons which prompt you to do the things you do with your fellow man. If they are selfish motives and are not prompted by the desire to be a better channel, a better expression of the Creative Forces through your own relationships or activities with others, know that they must eventually bring confusion in your life.

You might use self-suggestion via auto-hypnosis and guided imagery. This may help you to be more centered and spiritually attuned. Try to combine these exercises with prayer and affirmations which assist you in turning within for guidance, rather than relying entirely on your own independence and willfulness. Above all, pray for the resolve to be consistent in applying your ideals as set in the Christ. Prayerful study and contemplation of Jesus' promises in chapters 14-17 of Saint John's Gospel would be a priceless resource. [1175-1]

Your Mercury harmoniously aspects Mars. Orb 0° 32'

Between death and rebirth you have experienced constructive planetary-loka sojourns in Mercury and Mars that may be a helpful influence in your present life. This makes for an inquiring mind, one delving into the thoughts and feelings of others and their experiences, especially as to their mental reactions. Your mental inquisitiveness manifests on many levels of action. For instance, you can draw conclusions from the experiences of others as well as how they compare with your own experience.

From your Mars afterlife experience there is a benevolent influence in your life so that often in the disputes of others, in the wrath and anger they express toward each other, there may come from your own mental attitude peacemaking experiences even in the material business world of competition that are beneficent. Knowing how hard it is to be a peacemaker at all, much less where money and cutthroat competition are concerned, perhaps you can more fully appreciate your talents in this area. Therefore as a peacemaker under the most trying of conditions and beyond being merely inquisitive, you are a soul who is adept at -- as colloquially expressed -- 'getting inside people's heads'.

You have experienced the planetary consciousnesses in which you may manifest -- in your dealings, analyzing and studies of individuals and groups -- the highest purposes in the experiences of others. You are, then, one with a high ennobling, uplifted and stimulating intellectual energy. In addition, you are one given to be openly active in helping others to help themselves. Teaching and career counseling, as well as writing and computer science, are recommended as potentially rewarding pursuits. [2910-1]

hmmm..

my 12th house occupies most of the scorpion n a bit of sagi ....

the house is occupied by saturn ..

according to vedic astrology , i was told its a nice placement...with karmic stuff.... i was told am a pretty old soul ( am not wise ... very very very emotional.... i can easily forgive even the ones who cheat me badly , just if they come and talk politely after sm time..... i always have this faith that if i do wrong to someone , i always end up harming myself instead..... i have met a friend , who kept saying he was gonna die ... and eventually died on the same date , telling me all his secrets and last wishes , and i remained surprised ... i have noticed i usually meet people , whose AC/DC have some 180 degrees or 90 degrees connections to my AC/DC..... ) ..

its said that the older souls are wiser and softer (but am notttttt wise i guess!) ... and they help others clear their debts...and also clear their karmic debts ... (yes , i have felt soulmate connections with many people and we eventually break up or do no harm and stay like that , after a while) ....

i dnt knw why , bt i love my zero degree leo sun and my 12th house scorpion saturn its strange why i lv them so much :P

ps> i had a great childhood > luving , carign , pampered one , type.... had a great academic career... people easily loved me ... and even when they went away , rarely said **** about me ...though > someone rarely stayed.... and if they wanted to stay , i always wanted to run away ... so , 12th house saturn gave no trouble to me in childhood , but once i turned 18 , things started messing up at either one front or the other... and someone said it'll stay like that for another many years... ah...they say we clear karmic debts through sufferings... is it that am paying my debts ? (if am the old soul , suppose !)

Mercury and Venus in the 12th house. Unless I pay a lot of attention, it feels like I can never guess how I come across, either in the way I talk/think or while showing affection. My time alone is so important, it's how I keep my mind at peace. The fears and imagination, yeah, that's a major part of my life. I love daydreaming, it's an escape.

The "needs 4th/8th house people" theory fits me, especially the 8th house. Most Taurus people make me feel at ease. They're so laidback I can't help but take on their pace and chill with them. They're wonderful. <3 What I can do for them depends on their chart of course.

Venus in the 12th. Secret admirers. I have to tell these guys I have feelings for them or they'll never pick up on it. Works the other way around as well. I don't think I even know any Virgos except for one.

Kinda the opp for me....I wasnt really shy or withdrawn when I was younger and wasnt too confused even tho i went through my first and shittiest relationship. I am more confused and shy now then ever. I really hope this passes, cuz I like living out loud.

As for me, my sun is in 12 together with uranus and south node. I guess having the sun there makes me want to just want to get away from it all to recharge sometimes. Its a need. I´ve come to think of uranus as the electric planet, and can give anxiety or restlessness out of the blue ( I hate that!! but I´m learning to welcome it and let it pass now), and that south node conjunct sun...
What about you guys? How do you experiment your 12th?

I have a heavy chart with Sun/Mercury/Venus in Aries(5th house), A Scorpio Asc. (26.43*), and Pluto in Scorpio (retrograde) occupies my 12th house. From an early age, I had prophetic dreams. Around high school, I picked up Tarot, Numerology, and Astrology (All Thanks to Linda Goodman). I have always felt like I could see through people and my philosophies of life are unlike those of anyone else I have ever met. It is said that past lives are contained in your 12th house and also within your nodes and retrograde planets in your natal chart. Mine must have been one in which I was spiritually attuned to something incredibly strong, because the weird psychic stuff always happens to me. I get the scariest deja vu sometimes and I understand things I don't know how to explain how I know. I feel a strong pull to things and suddenly know how they work.

I hope so I really do.....I didnt start being shy until after hs...I think it has to do with all the emo bs I have gone thru..makes me withdrawn but I hate it

I have moon at 8 degrees Scorpio conjunct Pluto Rx at 12 degrees, and my ascendant at 19.

One of my oldest friends has sun in pisces at 17 degrees and north node at 23 degrees in her 12 house ( I know because we have all the same degrees of our planets just different ascendants).

I can relate to the pent up energy aspect. I think it makes me very emotional, but not expressive. And hard for me to understand why I feel the way I do sometimes. I also did have a difficult childhood, and am fascinated by things like past lives, etc. I remember having a stronger interest (even fear) of reincarnation when I was young.

My friend as I mentioned. Is very philosophical and intellegent and outspoken , and has a lot of personal problems, and often deals with betrayal in her life. She's had many issues with drug use as well and often puts herself in dangerous circumstances. I'd say she's definately a believer in past lives.

Sun and south node in 12th like the OP post doesn't Suprise me that she'd have a strong belief in past lives.

I only have Chiron in the 12th House, with the ruler being Gemini. From Cafeastrology:

"Chiron is associated with the emotional wounds we receive early on in our lives. The sign Chiron is in will dominate but the house placing will show in which area the personality is motivated and into which they will put their efforts. In the twelfth house, it may indicate nervous tension, perhaps picked up from a close family member. You probably have psychic, empathic and healing abilities. Don't keep shutting yourself off from people - they need your unique abilities. Help others by learning to use these 'gifts' - it will give great, personal benefit but you will need to be emotionally strong and mature."

Interesting, as I do like to help people. I don't always feel supportive though, knowing what to say to people, etc. I do also have wounds to that I need to heal. Most of them to come from family. Thus I think I do need to become more "emotionally developed" in a way!
