made me think that it's not only that Scorpios say that they are not jealous/ possesive/ etc.

EVERY SIGN, when asked, denies some of their fundamental and obvious characteristic.

I've heard lots of cancerians claiming they are not very close to their mothers and that they are not hyper sensitive and they never change moods...

Lots of Virgo claim that they are not cleaning freaks or interested in details...

How many aries do you know that they swear they are not agressive or impatient?

What about Pisces saying they have their feet on the ground? Leos saying they're modest? Capricons saying they're funny and party oriented? Aquarians saying the're just regular guys that follow the rules?

Etc... etc...

BTW, I learned this the hard way. I dated a hyper sensitive cancer girl that wanted to protect me and called me 35 times a day. I finally got rid of her (in a non violent way ) but then I realized that I did some of these horrible things to other people... I was like her! Well, not completely, but I had to face that some of the (typically Cancer) things that drove me mad were part of my personality too...

I guess, its natural ... person knows more about himself and has (is it true) greater understanding of his nature and thats what comes out ... as compared to you understanding someone else's nature ...

“Capricorns saying they're funny and party oriented?”
Actually Cappys are usually like that - how else do they climb the social ladder?

But yeah, I have seen it. I’m one of those Pisceans that claims “I’m not emotional…actually I’m very detached”
ok I may seem like that due to my Moon - which is why I say it in the first place…
but trust my emotions are deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep - confuses the hell out of my Moon & Mercury

Most times I read to somebody Linda's description of his/ her sign they say "I know some friends of my sign that are that way, but I'm not the typical (sign). After all I am not (main charasteristic) at all..."

And gues what? they are wrong! They ARE that way.

(BTW my moon in Gemini makes me relate emotionally to people reading them books )

HI Pop

Maybe some of us at some time in our lives are only too aware of our failings.......but choose to stay in denial..

I have yet to meet a fellow SCorpio who isnt jealous in love....its just that some have more of a handle on it.....I for one have great passion in love and therefore have felt jealousy around those I care for, I always did, even with my mum and dad, thinking they loved my sis more than me!!!

The only exceptions I am aware of are the ones that live with a partner they dont really "connect" with, where the passion has gone out of the relationship, so to speak !!

As for the other signs, maybe some are just not typical of their signs.....they have more influence from the other planets etc etc. I have know shy and retiring Leos, I know one at the moment she has a Virgo moon......no desire to be notced at ALL.

I think its part not admitting and then in part not being typical of the sign.

Cant speakfor others but I embrace all the traits of a typical Scorpio......mmm....say no more.....just that I am glad I was introduced to therapy and healing....but not as glad as my husband was!!! LOL !!!

Most people that I know who would even consider astrology actually identify with their signs. What I always found hilarious is the people who just insist that astrology is all bullcrap and then say something so amusingly characteristic, even stereotypic of their Sun sign that you almost think they're kidding..
I work with a Taurus that refuses to accept astrology even for a second and one day as we were sharing a smoke he tells me "you know.. all I REALLY care about is food, sex, drinking and smoking.. that's all I really need..."

Yes therapy is very good...

And BTW when you deny the way you are, you lose power! People can really control you without you noticing.

I've seen many leos, for instance, accepting a bad deal or failing for someone who just tell them they are the best and praises their ego... Since they are not aware of their hunger for being praised they fall easily.

Hi Pop.

Your post was funny. This made me crack up:

“Capricorns saying they're funny and party oriented?”

Hahhaa, that is so me! I am a Cap, but I am like so-anti my sun sign sometimes. I am like: "No I am not reserved, quiet or serious!" but people catch it anyway, and I then I spend an enormous amount of time trying not to be defined and saying "I can be the life of the party too!" (which I am sure there are tons of Caps who really are)

Good thing for my Gem rising...otherwise, I don't know....I'd probably too serious!(By the way I think Caps get a bad rap...)

But your post made me think of something. I think there is a reason some aren't into Astrology and other such things because you have to LOOK into yourself, and at a point, stand back and be objective about yourself. Some people are just too involved in themselves to do that....this is also what I think about people who say they are the complete antithesis of their sign (when others see it)...

Also it could be a "please don't define me!' kind of thing...which I sometimes feel also.

Hi Pop,
I read you opening post. Made me think. I guess everyone goes from self denial to self awareness. Thats what living a life is about I say. I also guess lucky are those who understand themselves, when that happens they realize their god like nature that was within them all along and they learn to use their god powers in a better way than before.

Sometimes I wonder if we must introduce astrology/sun signs in our education system

Good idea IAmThat about introducing astro into the school system.

Every teacher our son has had I always ask for their birthday on the pretext that he would like to send them a card/gift. Yesterday we were at a party at school and his new teacher was there......I stopped her and said "would you mind telling me when your birthday is" and explained the reason why. When she said 29th October, I nearly fell over.....same day as mine......she looked surprised too and I said "we must talk" and laughed...

Hopefully it may have planted a seed........but the thing that worries me is, our son now has two Scorpio women in his life to contend with......oh well he is one himself, so he may understand LOL !!!

Love

I agree with whiterabbit's sentiments about people trying to deny astrology while simultaneously embodying their sun sign.

---------

I find often that I wish I matched my sun sign more. I'm possibly the most indecisive Capricorn I know. Otherwise, I don't deny anything about my Capricornian nature, I just feel enhanced by my other placements.

Yeah but I have water water everywhere and people do not describe me as emotional or sensitve. I think I am but maybe I'm really not.
I have no kids, no attachments and I'm sure not going to mother you. People say I'm head over heart. Who's right!?

Hi Sue,
Your son is one lucky kid to be surrounded by such pampering Scorp ladies hehehe.....

I also sometimes wonder if we humas are born in a particular sign to learn a lesson? And if our star sign would help us achieve what we were supposed to learn as a lesson.

For example, a person used to be too attached in a previous life and hence will be born in air sign to learn to detatch
Just a theory. Or how about a person was lacking passion and hence is born in a water sign to get passionate ...hehehehe

Hope my outlandish comment won't hurt anyone

Pop - it's true. But people who are "in the know" about astrology, well once you know better, you do better. Astrology points out our obvious areas that we need to work on, and once we know them, we SEE them. Once we see them, we consciously deny them - both in action, and in word. Astrology helps us to refine ourselves. Don't you think? I am very much a Leo. I have sun, Mercury, Venus & Mars in Leo. There are some things I don't want to change, and there are some things that I have to watch for. If I've been "in the know" for long enough, I've been watching for those things for quite a while. Therefor, they are no longer a problem for me.

As a Leo, I will always need to feel loved. I will always need to be impressive, and rise above the crowd. I will always be generous, freindly and enthusiastic. But, I now know better so I WILL NOT be a credit grabber (give credit where credit is due - this is easy when you're naturally generous). I will not be a braggart (just do my best and if I'm successful, that speaks for itself - easy if you always aim to be impressive)and so on. I think we all respond that way to Astrology. The thing is, the more you learn about your own chart, the more you are able to neutralize the negative and lean on the positive.

I believe Astrology should be taught in school. It's that important. More important than sex-ed maybe.

Very interesting observation, by the way.

WhiteRabbit, LOL! Even better when a Leo tells you with a straight face: "Leos don't believe in this crap!"

lol I've made a LOT of posts on this subject this past year..and I still completely disagree with sticking the whole world in TWELVE boxes.. People ARE people. They each have their own individual SOUL and like I've said time and time again Astrology does not TELL U who you are.. it helps you understand yourself YES, it helps you understand others YES.. but it doesn't tell you who you ARE deep down inside.

A person is more than a set of traits.

Sometimes I feel like this site is turning into a cult..and I don't like the vibes I get. It makes me think that IF astrology did become a science and was recognized a LOT more people would end up taking it too far in this exact same way..and that would lead to a lot negative things like - discrimination on sign..telling people HOW they *should be* acting because they have a certain sign etc etc.. I'm not liking this one bit

All the following people are/were Aries:

Cardinal Ratzinger

Mariah Carey

Elizabeth Montgomery

If any of these people said that they ARE their own person and different from the others..could anyone really argue with them?

I am aware of the fact that sometimes you'll find people of the same sign, who are very similar. An example of that would be Russel Crowe and Marlon Brando.

However, other times.. you'll find people who are VERY VERY different.

So the fact that some people of the same sign can be quite similar isn't enough to pass a theory that says all people of a certain sun sign throughout the world and throughout history are exactly the same.

I mean honestly don't you people know people of the same sign who are different? Don't you know people who have the exact same charts or similar charts who are different?

Don't you know twins who don't get along and are interested in very different things and are just overall different people?

Have you never been in a situation where you got along with one twin and couldn't find common ground at all with the other?

OR Have you never been in a situation where two people had similar charts (twins or not) and you were good friends with one..while the other gave you bad vibes?

Because personally I have been in a few of these situations..

I find the concept of this thread very unrealistic and LIMITING to the vast variety of human thought and feeling. I don't like anything that limits and puts a great number of people in a certain category allowing them no leeway. It is unfair, in my opinion, and a lot of problems throughout history came from similar narrow ways of thinking

I usually agree with you a lot, Lauren ( Aries Chica) But the cult comment?
Naw..........
As long as there are people all over to ping and pong and yin and yang, and opinions diverse.. like this thread right here, for instance.... I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Really.

Sorry about the cult comment. I wasn't bitting at anyone. That's just the feeling I get with certain thread topics that are made.

It actually happens rarely..but it bothers me when it does because I wholeheartedly disagree with it.
