Her:
Rabbit
Him:
Tiger

The chivalrous Tiger man could have well been drawn to the Rabbit woman by her seeming meekness and helplessness. And she could have welcomed him in learning to appreciate the fighter and protector in him. But things will tend to go awry after their relationship has been established on a serious, permanent basis. According to Chinese popular belief, the parties involved are doomed to lock horns because each of them will try to prove himself the real and only representative of the feline race at the exclusion and expense of the other. Actually, their antagonism is far from being hopeless, and their union has its own chances.

Under normal conditions, each partner will spend much of his time and energy to try to prove that the other is in the wrong on all fronts. They will be especially keen on crossing swords over financial matters as she is economical virtue personified and he deems it demeaning to worry about money. Their differences concerning equality of the sexes may be enough to light the fuse. Moreover, the Tiger man will certainly attempt to impose his will on the Rabbit, but she is likely to react vehemently by showing her sharpened claws. If she wants to strengthen her position, she will have to pursue a profession of her own and be independent financially instead of accepting the role of a full-time homemaker as she naturally wants to.

Their sex life will not be free from problems. His appetite is too powerful a match for hers. But if she wants to take time to breathe, he may interpret her move as indifference or coldness.

They will be reasonably happy together the day they are no longer intent on competing with each other.

Her:
Tiger
Him:
Goat

A Goat man and a Tiger woman can get on extremely well in bed. He has the magic touch to trigger the innermost desires in any woman, let alone a passionate and impetuous woman like the Tiger. However, the partners' entente will not cross the sill of their bedroom door. In the cold light of day they may agree to disagree on everything imaginable, and their togetherness will be a curious mixture of some honey and a lot of gall. The situation will no doubt be more painful to her than to him because she is less flexible and more vulnerable than he is.

While the Tiger will in all seriousness devote herself body and soul to the cause of feminism, the Goat will show himself utterly unsympathetic to her efforts. He is not at all misogynous, priding himself even on being more feminine than masculine, and will make fun of her refusal to enjoy her feminity. But his chiding and mockery will certainly meet with terrible explosions of anger from the Tiger whose sense of humor is always in an embryonic state.

With her rational mind, it will exasperate her beyond endurance to see her man's outlandish moods and exclusive reliance on his intuition. And yet, his "feeling" will help him find the right solutions to problems more easily than her logical reasoning can - and this will infuriate her further.

The communication between them will be extremely difficult if not downright impossible as the Goat always shirks serious discussions and avoids to let himself be pinned down. There will be days when, for no apparent reason, he will withdraw into his own secret world to which the Tiger will have no access. Yet on other days he will appear entirely dependent on her and be happy to let her solve all problems and make all decisions. In any case she will have to take finances in her own hands since he is thoroughly undependable in this respect.

In spite of all the Tiger woman will come to appreciate the Goat as a charming man from time to time - when she is in one of her more sensitive moods.

A union that is rarely expected to last.

Her:
Rat
Him:
Goat

In this relationship, there will absolutely be no risk of violence of any kind, the Goat man being a most peaceable person. She will have no reason to complain of being oppressed by him since she can get her way in life and organize their coexistence as she will think best without the slightest interference from the Goat. But this very situation may in the long run be a source of irritation to her. Finding herself burdened with too many responsibilities and badly needing a solid feeling of security, she will want him to be more manly, assertive, capable of contradicting her from time to time. She will like him to be stronger but can do nothing to make him shake off his lethargy.

Their greatest problem will spring from his irresponsibility regarding financial matters. Not content to be a spendthrift, he is also a lazybones, and so the onus will be on the Rat woman to manage to prevent creditors from constantly knocking at their door.

Owing to the partners' ability to achieve sexual harmony, some kind of success can be made of this union despite all its inherent deficiencies. The Goat is an extremely sensual man and is expert in awakening the most basic desires in any woman. The Rat is also noted for her sensuality and interest in sex. And so these two will spend much time together in bed and drown some of their many disagreements in each instance of their physical fusion.

Her:
Horse
Him:
Goat

Although this is a combination of two diametrically opposed and unusual personalities - a strongly "masculine" woman and a distinctively "feminine" man - the risks involved can be considered acceptable. A lot of mutual tolerance will be needed, but happiness will not be beyond their reach.

The Horse woman will ever feel attracted to the charm and seeming helplessness displayed by the Goat man, and he will eternally be drawn to her strength of character and resilience. It is this reciprocal magnetism that will help them hold together in the face of the tremendous difficulties engendered by their coexistence.

The Horse woman is outgoing and optimistic whereas the Goat man is extremely vulnerable to moodiness and pessimism. His comportment will cause her great annoyance and hurt every time he sulks and withdraws into his own secretive world, making it clear that he totally ignores her existence during such moments. Considerable tension may result from the violent contrast between her logical, direct approach to life and his involved way to proceed. All decisions concerning the couple will likely rest with her, for he cannot be relied on to deal effectively with problems due to his hopeless indecisiveness. His possessiveness will not fail to antagonize her as she does not stand for her personal freedom to be restricted in any way. While he will expect her to be a model homemaker, this outdoor and dynamic woman will resent having to attend to routine, down-to-earth matters; considering that life holds more than domestic chores, she will feel claustrophobic at his insistence.

At first the Horse will be flattered at her man's great popularity with the fair sex; but the excessive number of the passions he can arouse and his numerous instances of infidelity will cut sharply into her ego.

Sex is equally important to both of them, and so they will not have problems finding satisfaction in bed together. However, because of her basic lack of imagination, she will for some time show reluctance to go along with his love of fantasy. There is every likeli-hood her sexual behavior will become more refined before long under the aegis of such an expert lover as the Goat man.

Her:
Horse
Him:
Rabbit

The parties involved are generally expected to encounter severe difficulties on many fronts due to their fundamental antagonism. Few other couples would be found with so many internal differences as this one. If it were to hold the ground, let alone to prosper, the relationship between these natives would need the greatest amount of common sense, a heavy dose of mutual tolerance, and sheer will power. It is doubtful these requirements will be met.

The Rabbit man is a quiet stay-at-home who prizes nothing better than his own privacy; his manners are patrician, shy and reserved; he is careful about spending to the point of being tightfisted. The Horse is nothing but the exact opposite of her man: She is of the most gregarious type who enjoys mixing with crowds and entertaining profusely; she is a downright extrovert, never hesitating to talk things over to excess; and, above all, she loves squandering money to compensate for her deepseated feeling of inadequacy. It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to reach a compromise on these points without too much friction.

But the most serious obstacle to harmony here is undoubtedly the inevitable clash between the Rabbit's discreet but real misogyny and the Horse woman's exacerbated feminist stand. Her complaints and grievances will in all likelihood meet with his disdainful indifference.

Sex can certainly be another area of conflict between them. This is an inhibited and puritanical man whose distant approach to lovemaking will deepen Horse's gnawing doubt about her desirability as a woman. If there is anything in life he absolutely abhors, it is to discuss sexual needs and problems, and the Horse woman will be confronted with a stone wall when she attempts to improve their sex life.

A catastrophic union.

Her:
Snake
Him:
Goat

This is one of the two or three most charming, most "feminine" partnerships known to Chinese astrologers, and also one of the rare terrains where total bliss and utter misery coexist or dominate by turns.

The complicity between the Goat man and the Snake woman will reach the highest peak as they are like Siamese twins, psychologi-cally speaking. They intimately share sensitivity, romantic inclinations, and sensuousness. Both are subject to cyclic deep depression and overflowing hilarity. But while she is refined and knows exactly what she wants, he is earthier and constantly wonders what is best for him.

Their financial situation is likely to be chaotic as both of them have an exaggerated love of good things of life and neither will want to assume a responsible attitude.

The Goat has the ability to make his mate feel the most desirable woman in the world, which the Snake will greatly appreciate. As their romantic instincts coincide perfectly and their capacity for love so great, they can create exceptional warmth together. Unfortunately, each of them was born with a multiple heart, and consequently faithfulness is something impossible for both of them to uphold. This will give rise to horrifying emotional scenes, for these two are equally jealous and possessive. There will be not only verbal arguments but possibly physical abuse as well. However, the edge of this problem will be greatly blunted if the parties involved enjoy great wealth and have no or very few children.

Sex is of paramount importance to this couple. The vitality of the man's sexual vigor will find a most favorable echo in his Snake's sensual stamina. The lovers may enjoy a unique compatibility of physical desire and expression and get a foretaste of Heaven during their intimacies.

A highly complex, fluctuating relationship.

Her:
Rabbit
Him:
Goat

The partners here being much more "feminine" than "masculine," their union will make a charming couple, a joy to behold. An air of sweetness and complicity will prevail throughout their common life. But this excessive "feminity" will also involve distinct drawbacks such as too much reliance on whims and a severe lack of coherence. Since emotional maturity is deficient in both parties, their relations will be subject to fluctuations and sometimes childish instability.

While both are able to make concessions and forgive, they will not be able to iron out all their differences. The Rabbit woman is not jealous by nature, but the Goat, this incorrigible flirt, could well be the man to arouse possessive feelings in her. He may not really philander, but his constant hovering around will be so provocative that it will be difficult for her to close her eyes to it - if only for reasons of face - and not fly off the handle from time to time. Their arguments, however, will not cause any serious damage, for the Rabbit woman is sensible enough not to let things go too far.

His lack of foresight and practical sense will, among other things, clash with her careful way with finance. She will certainly scold him about his extravagance and irresponsibility and he will call her a fussbudget. But here again the situation is not likely to get out of hand.

The most delicate area of their togetherness will concern their different sexual behavior. Lovemaking is the Goat man's way of life whereas the Rabbit will want, more unconsciously than consciously, to demonstrate her love for him in ways other than physical. At first, he will have to realize that she is not spontaneous or involved enough in sexual union with him, and that his attempts at a romantic approach can only inspire amusement in her. However this expert lover will not despair and will, after a more or less long period of time, succeed in bringing out all her hidden sensuality.

Her:
Monkey
Him:
Rabbit

Since both this man and woman are extremely fond of mental exercise, a serious theoretical discussion could be the reason for their relationship starting up. Once they have joined their auras, intellectual curiosity will form the basis of their common life. These two will spend most of their time learning and analyzing life, people, and situations, thus paying little attention to their differences and possible subjects of controversy. Their happiness will be mainly cerebral and will overshadow the physical side of their togetherness.

The first problem they will have to cope with may be their divergent attitudes toward life. The Rabbit harbors a loathing of change and whatever is unusual or unexpected. The Monkey, on the contrary, believes change is the spice of life and is ever on the lookout for new experiences. He takes himself and his ideas very seriously, while it pleases the Monkey woman to poke fun at everyone including her Rabbit. He may be too rigid to ease the situation, but fortunately the Monkey woman is usually flexible enough to prevent things from getting out of control; she is able to admit readily that she is wrong and then compliment her man lavishly on his intellectual acumen. If she is careful never to overdo it, her technique can always work like a charm.

Passion is unlikely to be a dominant note at one time or another in this relationship. Both partners are distrustful of pure feelings and emotions - although not to the same degree - and will not be overdemanding of each other on the sentimental or sexual score.

A fairly good union, and decidedly an excellent friendship.

Her:
Dog
Him:
Ox

It would be far better for an Ox man and a Dog woman to be friends than love partners, their differences being too pronounced and varied to permit much hope. Risks of daily dispute are very real, and time will have little power over them.

The Ox, a diehard traditionalist, mistrusts all nonconformists, whereas the Dog is perpetually concerned with making this world a better place to live in. Unlike him who appreciates the quiet home, the Dog loves to be out fighting to the bitter end for some ideal. These conflicting stands will make for plenty of arguments. And as both are moralizers, they will try, with dire motivation, to change each other - without, of course, ever succeeding in this enterprise of theirs. On top of all this, dissension over finances will arise from the Ox's unreasonable stinginess and the Dog's excessive generosity.

Some consolation may be found in their sex life, but it will be so tenuous and fleeting that a durable solution to their difficulties must be looked for elsewhere; perhaps a miracle will even be needed. However, if they earnestly work to achieve mutual understanding, their efforts will probably be rewarded as good will can sometimes force chance to manifest itself in this relationship.

A union which is liable to improvement but which demands its price.

Her:
Pig
Him:
Ox

This union has as many positive as negative aspects; its happiness will therefore be mainly a matter of good will.

The Ox will certainly attempt to impose his authority on the Pig woman from the very start; but she is so charming, so conciliatory that she will quietly get her way without his noticing it. With time, he will become more amenable, and all risk of conflict of wills can then be discarded. Their common desire for a warm domestic life will be a good stabilizing factor in their relationship. She knows how to cook delicious meals which he will eat with much joy and gratitude. His jealousy and possessiveness will in all likelihood remain dormant as she is tactful, considerate, devoted and faithful beyond reproach. Both of them love children and will certainly create a large family which will help them cope successfully with life's inevitable disappointments and sorrows.

The only problem likely to confront this happy couple will be that they may settle down in routine and lapse imperceptibly into boredom. To break up the monotony, surprises and even some innocuous disputes should be sought out; travels to foreign countries are also recommended.

Sexually, the Pig woman is so sensual and at the same time tactful that the Ox will gradually succeed in shedding his unimaginative streak. After some time, each embrace will be for both of them a moment of total abandon and sheer bliss.

Not every partnership has the blessing of the gods as this one.

Her:
Rat
Him:
Ox

This can be a marvelous union - marvelous for the partners as they naturally are, but not necessarily so should they conform to certain prevailing social biases; feminists in particular may be inclined to frown upon it without indulgence.

Sharing her life with the Ox, the Rat woman could not wish for a better feeling of security. This man is stability personified; he is besides an excellent provider and likes to protect his woman from all possible tribulations. He will expect absolute fidelity and obedience from the Rat - a condition she will be quite ready to fulfill in return for his patronage. They are unlikely to be ever at loggerheads with each other as his wishes are meant to be orders and she will be in this particular instance prepared to give up her caprices. They will form a solid couple and will be happy in their own way, with the woman doing her best to advance her husband's career. Occasional friction will be inevitable, but it will never reach alarming proportions and will act as a spice to their otherwise humdrum common life. After a few years of peaceful coexistence, they will in all likelihood gradually switch into friendship whatever passion they started out with.

Both parties here enjoy a large family and will surely have numerous children together. They will diligently watch them grow up and carefully prepare them for life. A deep involvement with the in-laws on both sides will also be a matter of course.

The sexual side of their togetherness will certainly lack romantic fancy throughout. Both of them do not care much about the "nonessential" aspects of love. Under the impulse of the Ox's unimaginative approach, their lovemaking will be somewhat basic, primary. But as they have a good appetite and are devoid of inhibitions, nothing will prevent them from feeling satisfied.

A very good union in many respects.

Her:
Rooster
Him:
Dog

These two could be brought together while doing some social work: The Dog man's sincere idealism holds great attraction for the Rooster woman, who is rather blasé, while he appreciates what he believes is her courage and strength of character.

After some time their complex personalities will begin to clash on several fronts. It is always hazardous to predict the outcome of this union; things may turn out fairly well if both partners are determined to work at achieving mutual tolerance.

Jealousy and possessiveness are the common traits that will plague their life together. The Rooster woman may realize by now that she is not the most important thing in her mate's life but comes a long way behind the humanitarian causes he fights for. Although initially sympathetic to his idealism, she will insist on monopolizing his attention, thus causing considerable tension between them. The Dog man, on his side, will want his Rooster to devote all her energy to making life comfortable for him as he desperately needs a compensation for his incurable feelings of anxiety and insecurity. But she is not the kind of woman to wait on anyone hand and foot. Furthermore, she is likely to be infuriated by the misogynistic streak in his character. Both parties will have to make some serious adjustments here, or be continually at loggerheads.

She will try his patience with her spells of unjustified aggressiveness, while he will grate on her nerves by criticizing her about almost everything. However, there will be frequent moments favorable to a better understanding between them, when both partners are temporarily free from depressive moods. The two of them should learn to profit by such moments to the maximum.

Her sex drive is much stronger than his, which is a distinctive drawback in this particular instance. Being puritanical-minded, the Dog man will look at her great appetite with suspicion and will not tolerate any sexual deviations or perversions on her part. But only God knows what reactions a Rooster woman can have when she is rebuffed sexually. Of course, the situation is by no means irremediable. Frank and exhaustive discussions may be able to clear away the dark clouds.

Her:
Tiger

Pig

Mutual admiration does exist here and will be instrumental in smoothing out quite a number of important difficulties.

The Pig man has definite ideas about how women should be- - feminine, gentle and modest - although it would be excessive to consider him a "chauvinist pig." He will be bitterly disappointed to realize that his Tiger falls direly short of his standards. Her direct manner in bed and her professed hostility toward men in general, for instance, could offend and even shock him beyond measure. However, no open disputes on this score are to be feared as the Pig man, although oversensitive, is keen on disguising his pains. He is more likely to react by brooding or sulking for days on end - and the Tiger woman should interpret his sullen moods as an alarm sign and take appropriate steps to remedy the situation. She will not have much difficulty in doing it because, like a child, he will always be ready to forgive and make peace, no matter how much he has suffered.

He loves children, having a childlike and childish soul himself, and longs for a large family. His wishes, obviously, will not coincide with his mate's as she tends to consider children an obstacle to her self-realization and personal happiness. The partners will therefore have to show maximum good will in attempting to thrash out a solution acceptable to both of them. In general they can succeed in this endeavor.

Him:
Rabbit
Her:
Tiger

The initial attraction between a Rabbit man and a Tiger woman can be very strong. Each finds in the other what is missing in himself. He admires her liveliness and enthusiasm while she prizes his refinement and thoughtfulness. But their relationship is not expected to go well beyond this stage as the differences are too fundamental to be reconciled adequately.

The Tiger is a woman of action who continuously needs to be on the go and live her life to the fullest. Her outgoing nature will sooner or later meet with disapproval from the Rabbit man who is a typical stay-at-home and whose favorite occupation is dreaming and mulling over every aspect of existence. She is too impulsive, strongminded and superficial to appreciate this courteous, softspoken, conciliatory and somewhat effeminate man.

It will be difficult to avert a fiery clash between his conservative and mildly misogynic views and her revolutionary and feminist ideas. The more he will want to make peace by various means - but not by forgoing his stand - the more this virago will be poised for a new head-on confrontation. Finances will add further to the panoply of their problems as he is overcareful about spending whereas she delights in extravagance.

Difficulties will abound on the sexual front. The Rabbit, convinced as he is that man - and only man - should take the lead in bed, will not appreciate the aggressive lover in the Tiger woman. Lacking total passion because his urges are commanded by his mind, he is fastidious about his lovemaking and insists that his mate be a lady in and out of bed. This will certainly exasperate the Tiger woman whose sex drive is raw, earthy and unbridled. It is not with such a man that she can find sexual fulfilment. Every instance of their physical togetherness will be more like a scuffle than an embrace.

It would be very imprudent to enter this union.

Very Generous, IamLove, thank you.

Bear in mind that the months, days, and hours,
also are associated with each of the signs,
and that figures into the synastry.

I would think that the hour,
being the most personal,
may be more fitting than the year.
But, apparently,
the Day is considered to represent "YOU",
While the Month signifies your Parents,
the Year represents your Ancestors,
and the Hour, your Children.

- Heart-Shaped Cross

Year - Earth Horse
Month - Water Dog
Day - Water Monkey
Hour - Fire Horse
