I'm boycotting the movies, my reason by orneriness.

Okay, let's play the usual mindgame: try to guess what the character's signs are!

Harry: he was born in July, making him either a Cancer or a Gemini. I think Cancer would fit him pretty well, although he would have to have his moon in something flashy...

Hermione: Capricorn? Virgo?

Dumbledore: I would say a very well- balanced Virgo... maybe with moon in Pisces.

Snape: Scorpio or Cancer.

Percy: Leo all the way!

Great thinking!
but i don't know enough about signs to guess
all i know is that Harry was born on July 31, wot does that make him?

Oxychick-sorry i missed your posting
i know what your talking about!!! yipee can't wait!!! something must happen in book six, either way.
but i'm in the middle of reading goblet of fire again (i had to read them all again ) and so far there are some things confusing me:

obviously Ron and Hermione bikker like a old married couple, and Ron gets REALLY mad when Hermione goes with someone else to the ball and at the end of the ball she tells him that if he doesn't like it maybe he should have asked her but not as a last resort (this points to them two)
but Viktor Krum (the guy who Hermione goes with) thinks that Harry is a threat, because he says that Hermione talks about him a lot....

and now *SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT!!!
The thing which has been troubeling me the most, the prophecy. if you read carefully the lines are " and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives" this line got me very confused. dumbledore kept daying how the truth was so horrible yet it must have been obvious to even Harry that he would eventually have to fight off Voldemort, yet what i think these lines really mean is that one of them has to kill the other, but one can not survive without the other...therefore Harry's death is inevitable...i may have totally missunderstood but that thought just popped into my head. Perhaps there is still to much emotion within Dumbledore to let him reveal the "whole" truth...i dunno...
wot do you think???

I completely agree.

Just finished the book yesterday and I have a huge hunch Harry's going to die at the end of the 7th book. Maybe he'll be reunited with his parents. It's so sad...I was in a funk all day after reading the book and crying (you know at which part). Too tragic.

OHH i just finished it today. WOW. You guys seriously think that he will die? why? I don't think so, because that would just be too depressing and I think Miss Rowling has a lot of imaginationa nd will come up with something equally magnificent to all the rest of her books!
Harry is a leo since it says that he is born when the seventh month dies! YAY!

i'm not too sure anymore actually...i have read the last parts again and....i think it would also be ridiculous if he died, but when i read it the first time that's just the feeling i got...my new theory is that Harry will find a way to rid himself of all Connections to Voldie and therefore be able to destroy him completely...
i loved the fifth book, i thought it was the perfect calm before teh storm that is sure to be the 7th book.

Erm.. silly me! July means Cancer or Leo, and since Harry is July 31 he would be a Leo. Well, that's one sign solved...

I think Dumbledore would actually be a Virgo with moon in Aries.

Good theory QoS!! What about Ron and Hermione? Hermione could be an Aqua/Sag/Cappy mix..Ron...don';t know, but maybe a Pisces moon. Maybe an Aries with Pisces Moon?

Hermione is definitly a Virgo the third book states that her birthday is in September!

YAY! I'm so happy Ron's a Pisces!! How sweet Pisces and Virgo are opposed on the wheel but they fit each other perfectly.

I think Dumbledore is a Pisces he's so sweet and mysterious! He knows everything that goes on!

HI i'm new but i do have some say on the topic.I haven't read all of the books yet but Harry Potter is a fantastic book!
If you watch the movies before you read the books it will spoil the adventure,
The movies are for after you read the books
the movies just put wut you have read on screen...
The movies don't tell everthing you need to know they leave out most of the important things...
They are good movies but you really should read the books first...
Just an opinion from a fello member!!

MOONAT i haven't finished all of the books yet but from what i'v heard they are really good...
What i really want to know is what is the fifth one all about and i don't want any <<<<<SPOILERS>>>>> but wut do they learn about in the fourth and fifth book that is so different then the other books!!
What has J.K. Rowling changed so much in the last two books and wut is the biggest most important thing HARRY,RON,and HERMIONE learn that changes there lives forever!!!
I would like to know the differnce from the other books and the fourth and fifth!!

you mean like why everyone has been saying their heaps different?

well the only explanation i can give is that those people thoroughly hate change, because after all we are dealing with a boy who, through seven years of schooling must become a man, and these readers want his life to stay peachy! i think its a bit unrealistic to think that, the books just get darker as far as i'm concerned, but they always stay real, in each book Harry reacts to things in the way that i believe someone who has been through his life, at that age would react....it's jus that people want his life to be perfect, but that's hardly real

was that what you meant? sorry, i'm a bit slow today and probably didn't understand...

harry potter definately kicks a$$! its the best book in the world. i dont know how old you guys all are but im 18 and have real difficulty convincing my friends to read it- they're all "its a kids book" but theyre really missing out.

since this is an astrology forum, what do you guys think of their new divination teacher (who certainly knows a lot more than the last one) referring to your type of astrology (ie being individually affected by the cosmos everyday) as "human nonsence"?

i dont believe in astrology so this seems quite accurate to me- i dont think things as trivial as one persons relationship problems (for example) would be reflected in the sky above. maybe big things like wars etc like their teacher said.

did this not bother any of you? its still a great book and the films are complete cr*p compared to the books- DONT WATCH THE FILMS IF YOU HAVNT READ THE BOOKS!!!

i havent read all of these posts as someone didnt post a spoiler alert (thank you to those of you that did) so i thought id better not ruin it for myself and just scrolled right down.

i did want to mention though that jk rowling is a leo, and she gave harrys birthday as her own, a leo, and hermione is a virgo. i forget what ron is, and i dont remember the source of that info. im sorry ron might be an aries though.

malfoy is definitely a scorp i think, though.

of course, who but a libra would use the terms 'definitely' and 'i think' in a sentence, lol!

i cant wait to catch up on this series, i have only read the first two. i am po, so i have to wait longer to get things. i have seen both films though, and they are brilliant. the second was much darker than the first, and i LOVED it! it was great. had more depth too. i love that they cast robbie coltrane as erm, whatsisname, the big fella? i have liked robbie coltrane since i first saw him on cracker. i think that was the series, it was bbc.

i also grew up loving the lion witch and the wardrobe series, and harry potter seems to be this generations equivalent.

how old IS Harry????
i suppose if we go back to '94 when JK started writing the books, he would now be 21! (did i do the math right??)
but seeing as the books aren't finished...ummm is it sixteen now????
