When you get settled into law school, Randall... if you ever get the urge to stump any of your teachers, I can give you some questions they'd have a very hard time answering. I've been studying law since mid-2011 (on my own, of course), and I know things they don't teach lawyers. Excuse me, attorneys. That's what you'll be studying to do, join the Bar Association and become an attorney.I have every edition of Black's Law Dictionary, 1-9; Bouvier's 12th ed.; and the Oxford Law Dictionary, 5th ed.; and they're what I consider my primary sources. Whenever I want to vet a piece of info I come across, it's to them that I turn. One very fascinating thing to observe is that the changes from one edition to the next are almost invariably a shortening of the definitions, leaving certain key aspects out. Things "they" don't want people to know anymore; but I've been given to understand that the newer definitions do not invalidate the older ones -- which makes sense, since meanings aren't being changed or opposed, just written more briefly (supposedly).
