Well honestly I have to admit over the fact that I don't think that making me a moderator would be the best choice and that I was only joking around about it. Needless, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize to begin with that the relationship that I have with Randall has always been on shaky ground(between the terrains of thin ice to rice paper)and that right now I don't feel that I'm suited enough in my life to be too involved with something that I know I would have to be here all the time to assume such responsiblity, right now I'm just too much of a mess for this kind of duty!

I also realize the fact that I've seen problems with just naming just anybody for moderator, suggestively either that person has to:

1. Have enough of knowledge over the subjects that are brought up within this forum.
2. Not have any affiliated leanings for any political party(even to the point that the person nominated didn't even bother to vote in the last presidential election).
3. Has been here long enough and as often enough in this forum.
4. Is easy going and shows fairness to all that visits this forum. Keeping an open mind and yet remains detached to all,to execute discretion plus shuns any favortism with any of the members that visits this forum.
5. Someone is kind and courteous enough to even the most irate and irrational member on this forum, after they been through one of the more heated arguements that go on(from time to time) on this forum.
6. And that are not weighed down by the problems that are going on in they're personal lives to reflect upon the events that go on within this forum.

These are just a few suggestions that I would be looking for in a moderator.

Tink or Eleanore would be two of my best choices, but I see that Eleanore is already a moderator as it is.

So I dunno.

what exactly can a moderator do? can they close threads? if so i wouldnt want jwhop to be one... no offense i know he has been here long, but even 'senior members' can have very extreme views and i believe he is one of them.

Lol, AG!

But, I don't think Jwhop is the type to get megalomaniacal with newfound power. I certainly don't think he'd start censoring everything he didn't agree with.

I definetly vote that he be a mod.

Johhny it's funny how you say you think he would be great as a mod.

Yet you are failing to mention the fact that he is a republican and so are you. Of course you want him to be a mod. You agree with his views.

That's hilarious!

I think it would be great fun if Jwhop were Moderator. Might keep him around even when he's losing arguments. Of course, we may need to keep special interests away from him, and we'll have to ensure he doesn't start a war with another forum, but at least we'll get a tax break, huh?

--------------

I feel like I spoke too soon offering myself up seeing as everyone's nominating people, and no one is volunteering as Randall had asked.

I'm pretty much good with anyone doing it. How 'bout BlueRoamer?

Thanks, ozonefiller.

I actually thought about volunteering for this forum. I enjoy being on Lexigram Magic but it currently has *four mods whereas this one is in need of new ones and gets more traffic. I visit this forum just as often as the others so that wouldn't be a problem. Either way, I'd be happy staying as a mod where I am or transferring over here.

That said, I think good choices would be Tink or jwhop and AcousticGod (as the con/lib team), if they're willing. Seeing as this is one of the most frequented and, err, challenging forums, I think it would be nice to have more than one moderator here. Though I suspect from the title of this thread that Randall already knows that.

*three mods, sorry

Well Mystic Gemini, I appreciate your vote with confidence with me, but I'm sorry to say that I'm really not interested in being a moderator. If I did, I would of have been one on my own website and I'm not interested in having that either right now.

But thanks anyway MG!

Yeah Eleanore, I think that you would great moderator for this forum, it's pretty much right up your alley on the things you pretty much are quite aware of anyway! And since I've known you, you seem to be one of the most fair minded members here as well!

Harpyr is an out right liberal and I would choose her for the left, but the both have one thing in common that I see MG, I see the fairness with Harpyr, Eleanore and/or Tink for the most part!

Not even I(I'll admit) have that for a credential, I don't think!

Actually, Mystic Gemini, I'm an Independant. Sometimes I agree with one side, sometimes the other ... sometimes both sides, sometimes neither.
