Lets not get me started on Paul now. Or half of the other traders to the entire human race that where the Apostle's and desciples of Jesus. Paul was almost as guilty as Peter is of distorting and corrupting the true intentions and messages of J.C.

When I come acrost the true crimes and sins they commited along wiht the other founders of the "holy roman catholic church",, lets just say those are the few times I wish the hell that has been falsly portrayed in the bible realy did exist-

Just so the likes of such discusting liers realy could burn for all eternity.

Of course his trash talking mouth tried to paint phillosophy to be blinding "of the way to heaven". He was also the same power hungry sorta character that tried to use the church to stop and hinder the progresion of science- both physical and metaphysical. The swine where deathly afraid of peaple actualy learning something [including how to think for our selves] instead of spenidng thousands of years stuck in the dark ages of religous reign.

They make me sick. Holy saints my AquarianAs$

"""The Apostle St. Paul said: 'Make sure that nobody makes prey of you by philosophy or by mere deceit, depending on human tradition derived from elements of nature and not according to Christ--for only Him the whole fullness of the Divintiy lives bodily. Only in Him is all complete, since he is the source and the power of it all.'"""

Load of TIHS !!!

Great way to lock JC into his golden cage. Lotus I would have expected you to already know well that JC was here not too make peaple dependant on him as with any other drug-

but was here to show peaple the full potentials we all have as spiritual beings. What we could do with our own wills and self disciplin.

I understand that completely
I despise the Roman Catholic Church and all it's lies
But there is still some truth to be found.

I do not have a religion

Within me is my Truth
with Mother and Father

and all I'm trying to do is help those that are interested, if your not
I'm sorry.

I do think philosophy can "hinder the way to Heaven". Philosophy exists largely in the realm of the theoretical and the way to Heaven is made of sterner stuff, no? Of course, I'm not referring to men like Plato. They knew of what they spoke. But even in Paul's time the Greek Schools of Philosophy had disbanded and were in ruins. And that state of affairs certainly hasn't gotton any better.
He who tastes, knows.

As for the goodies the God of Science has bestowed upon us, I'd hate to think of them in the hands of those even less ready for them then we are. You think Korea w/ the bomb is a scary proposition? Consider Phillip II of Spain with his finger on the button.

The purpose of the Medieval Age (aka the Dark Ages - just in case you weren't already scared) wasn't to build a better bomb or create a cloned sheep. Other issues were at hand and I believe that an honest, unbiased look at the time will reveal them.

hi Tink ~ can you tell us more about the medieval agenda? please?

LH1 ~ much love and light to you dear lady...i posted a passage from a favorite
book a few months ago that seems relevant now...

here it is again ~

quote:
WE ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING WE NEED. There is no need for self-improvement. All these trips that we lay on ourselves -- the heavy-duty fearing that we're bad and hoping that we're good, the identities that we so dearly cling to, the rage, the jealousy and the addictions of all kinds -- never touch our basic wealth. They are like clouds that trmporarily block the sun. But all the time our warmth and brilliance are right here. This is who we really are. We are one blink of an eye from being fully awake.

from Pema Chodron's book
Start Where You Are

That's a pretty quote. I'm not familiar with the author. But that "warmth and brilliance" that I too believe we all share is often hidden away under more than a few layers of grit and grime, don't you think? I think it is every man and every woman's duty to scrap away that stuff in order to get to the beauty waiting beneath.

"we are one blink of an eye from being fully awake"

From one prespective that seems right - God is always near to us. "I am as close as your jugular vein"

From another prespective it seems naive - are we close to God? - How many veils between me and the Lord?

Maybe I don't understand what the woman is trying to say.

What do you think the middle ages were all about?

dear Tink

the book actually is a buddhist treatise about stripping away those layers, written by a buddhist nun...nice reference to the jugular vein, btw....

may i think on the medieval question a little further?....
there was i time i considered pursuing a post-graduate degree in medieval studies....

but i believe you know the answer better than i....

ever read 'The Name of the Rose'?

thanks for your reply.

That's good to know. New Agey everything's ok mumbo jumbo sometimes irritates me. Sometimes one little piece out of context can be misleading. My mistake.

I thought of it too. I suppose I wouldn't have done well though. I foresaw many fights with many professors.

Yes, an odd but intriguing Italian man recommended it to me. Delicious.

Why sad about my reply?

you're right! Is it this that means sad? Or is that just disgruntled?

I'm computer illiterate.

Thanks for the compassion!

lol...i guess my quote is out of context...

and i suppose i'm the new agey type who would irritate you endlessly...

it's just when i read that paragraph for the first time, it really struck me....

and i felt change.

i love it on it's own, but the rest of the book is excellent too...

it's nice to have your brilliant perspective....i always look to your words
for erudition....

i think of
as softer, gentler love...

i think of
as stronger, passionate love....

you get both ~

(fun maybe to see what everyone else thinks of them....)

so is this -- -- 'gruntled' then?

If it speaks to you than by all means go with it. There must be a reason for that. The Good Lord gives us the medicine we need when we need it.

Sometimes I think we need to read the authors complete train of thought to truly understand, that's all. Sometimes a piece alone leads to misunderstanding. But the fault lies with me. You unknowingly (I assume )uncovered a weakness of mine - an inability to tolerate that particular viewpoint. And that gives me the opportunity to work on improving myself.

So you did me a favour, you know?

Wow
Ladies

Interesting stuff, and all with Love and understanding
A blink of an eye
yes
but no self improvement I disagree with
shouldn't we strive Our best
to love all our brothers and sisters

there's more to the onion than that
Just my thoughts
and it certainly helps to get all views
let's keep going.

....and on philosophy......

You can talk, talk, talk till the cows come home....cant ye...but it is how one feels....deep in the heart isnt it, that counts....

As for the "few layers of grit and grime" oh Tink, loved those words......some of the most sincere of heart I have met.....come across as real rough diamonds....and dont spout this love and light thing all the time....but they are truly connected with the almighty......it is as though they dont have to convince others or themselves..... they dont preach it.....they just have it...they just are.......

And I agree with you about the new age stuff, it does at times irritate the sh!t out of me.....cos its only old age stuff being recycled....we are just remembering what we forgot....quite funny really hahahaha

dear Tink ~

i must confess to a lack of wherewithal, at present, for pursuing my own explanation of the middle ages here....

i was just so intrigued with your statement ~

quote:
The purpose of the Medieval Age (aka the Dark Ages - just in case you weren't already scared) wasn't to build a better bomb or create a cloned sheep. Other issues were at hand and I believe that an honest, unbiased look at the time will reveal them.

you left me wishing for the revelation of those other issues....of which i know not.

i would love to have the privilege of your further explanation...but if not, thanks for the idea-pique.

love, Hedgewitch

I don't feel we're talking about New Age really

we're trying to figure out the Truth from the beginning
and with all the books we all must have
I believe we should be able to find
Truth

Dark Ages they knew alchemy, the ssecrets
but they didn't work with God
Hence
The Dark AGES

My thoughts

You got me spiraling on the Dark Ages
so I asked and meditated about them to
Mother and Father
they said simply
they left us to our own devices
they literally took a break to SEE
what we would do

I've had a dream since I was a little girl
about those times
the king stabbed me to death
he had long brown curly hair
with dark brown eyes
almost black
a forced marriage to me
I had a lover
we were caught
he killed us both
my twin and I

oh well
so many lives
but what's important
is Here and Now
and what we do
from this day forward
with Love and Light

LINES ON A KMER AT MONTE VERITA, AUGUST, 1938

Bodhisattva...'saint': one who stays, in human form,
Compassionating us, to help us live
As what we are--the image in the pool
In which, reflected, shines the Face
Of the great 'TO BE'
When the Word goes forth--'I Am'.
How difficult to see the Face, in you and me,
In us, and them!
How brokenly the music of the Word
Disturbs the silver surface of the silent Pool!
What strange mystery! Can the Creator, then,
Not create?
Alone, unaided, is the Power powerless
To realize Desire's will?

As a son goes, separate, out into the world
To choose, alone, his path:
As spindrift blows, or mist on mountain tops,
Or thistledown, light, on straying airs,
Lifts, and, errant, floats above the summit of the hill,
To fall, perversely, where the soil is spent--
So, the creative Power, lauching the Word,
Incompletely operates, depends on you and me,
On us and them, to grow and know
And be the vehicle of Truth.

And sorrily we fail, suffer, and desecrate our minds,
Unreconnaissant that we are, indeed, God's Face.
Yet there are those who sought, and saw, the Light
And might have left us, stumbling on our solitary way,
Who stayed, and let us glimpse the Truth
That they have known, compassion overcoming ardent will
To go and be at rest in bliss,
In conscious knowledge that the seed and flower,
The tree and fruit, are ONE.

Bodhisattva, with the lovely smile,
You knew the Truth, the gentle jest
That Kali, from behind her fearful mask,
And Gorgon, with her horrifying grin,
And Sphinx, and Durga, enigmatic, hide
From frightened man, testing him, as, on an anvil
Iron is hammered till 'tis tempered hard.
With your smile the curtain's lifted,
And we know that we, as you, may find our way
To blissful knowledge of the ONE.

Hello fayte.

My lack of skill in deciphering icons has already been established, so do correct me if I misconstrue, but it seems like you're displeased with something we said.

Care to elaborate? We're all adults here. I'm sure we can handle it.
