Hexxie ~

wow...thanks for including your beautiful thoughts and cards here. they were just what i needed to see today!

the medicine cards are magical aren't they? after reading your post i went in search of mine to look at dragonfly...dragon essence indeed!

a very strong animal totem appearing in my life these days is wolf...so i found wolf card also...i love his howling at the moon face.

wolf is the pathfinder, the forerunner of new ideas who returns to the clan to share medicine. wolf takes one mate for life and is loyal like dog. if you were to keep company with Wolves, you would find and enormous sense of family within the pack, as well as a strong individualistic urge. these qualities make Wolf very much like the human race. as humans, we also have an ability to be part of society and yet still embody our individual dreams and ideas.

in the Great Star Nation, Wolf is represented by the dog Star, Sirius, which legen tells us was the original home of our teachers in ancient times. Sirius was thought to be the home of the gods by the ancient Egyptians, and is still considered so by the Dogan tribe in Africa. it stands to reason that native american peoples would formulate this same connection and adopt Wolf people as the clan of teachers.

the senses of Wolf are very keen, and the moon is its power ally. the moon is the symbol for psychic energy, or the unconscious that holds the secrets of knowledge and wisdom. baying at the moon may be an indication of Wolf's desire to connect with new ideas which are just below the surface of consciousness. Wolf medicine empowers the teacher within us all to come forth and aid the children of earth in understanding the Great Mystery and life.

...become Wolf, and take up the sense of adventure. you may just stop howling at the moon and become the moon.

Wolf...
Teacher,
Pathfinder,
Moon-dog of my soul.

Howling,
Singing,
Teaching how to know

more on medicine cards

(thank you again Hexxie for bringing these back into my awareness)

Animal Medicine

to understand the concept medicine in the native american way, one must redefine 'medicine'. the medicine referred to in this book is anything that improves one's connection to the Great Mystery and to all life. this would include the healing of body, mind, and of spirit. this medicine is also anything which brings personal power, strength and understanding. it is the constant living of life in a way that brings healing to the Earth Mother and to all of our associates, family, friends, and fellow creatures. native american medicine is an all encompassing "way of life," for it involves walking on Earth Mother in perfect harmony with the Universe.

...it is possible to find animals to speak to you in a particular way -- the way of power. these creatures may carry special medicine for you, and will call to you in the Dreamtime if you are to study them more closely. your power ally is a certain species with which you have recognized a an important connection. This species becomes your teacher, with whom you allow yourself to grow and learn. nothing can replace the observation of these creatures in their natural habitats, for this connects you with the Earth, the animal, and the Great Mystery.

It was a big black Dragon and it was ok it did not bother me, I was scared of course. It sniffed around me and I had some candy hidden in my coat pocket the dragon found the candy and ate it. The dragon never did me any harm. I am not a dragon lover but I dreamed of one.

Do you know what it means to dream about dragons..I read it could mean Wisdom..

Hi Salome ~

Re: The Dog Star Sirius

quote:
Thoth also tells us that the star Sirius holds the key for transmutation of galactic karma. In fact, one of its ancient names in Lemuria was Magha.
This is a word-form of the archetype Magda; as on Mary Magda-lene, who as we know represents the fallen galactic level within the fallen (Oritronic-Luciferic) universe...

quote:
In most ancient Egypt this Sirian trinity was also represented by the Royal Family of Osiris (Father-God: Sirius A), Isis (Mother-Goddess: Sirius B) and Horus (Son-Christ:Sirius C).

`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

hi Hexxie ~

interesting about the dog star Sirius...

linda goodman wrote about Sirius in relation to Isis and Osiris...i will try to find the book and relate it here. i also have a very interesting book called the Magdalen Manuscript that's about Mary Magdalen being an initiate of the temple of Isis and the alchemy of Horus. it's about the Egyptian alchemy of transmuting the energy within in terms of serpent energies combining and spiraling up the spine much like the caduceus pattern. it also touches on immortality, like LG again.

Mama Mia ~

what a great encounter with a very powerful dragon you had.

it appears that you had contact with a great power and energy within you, and although you weren't afraid to let it approach you, you seem tentave about embracing it.

the following is the description of Snake, from the medicine cards. often snake and serpent energy is related to dragon energy...and in some traditions they are interchangeable.

Snake

Transformation

snake medicine people are very rare. their initiation involves experiencing and living through multiple snake bites, which allows them to transmute all poisons, be they mental, physical, spiritual, or emotional. the power of snake medicine is the power of creation, for it embodies sexuality, psychic energy, alchemy, reproduction, and ascension (or immortality).

the transmutation of the life-death-rebirth cycle is exemplified by the shedding of the snake’s skin. it is the energy of wholeness, cosmic consciousness, and the ability to experience anything willingly and without resistance. it is the knowledge that all things are equal in creation, and that those things which might be experienced as poison can be eaten, ingested, integrated, and transmuted if one has the proper state of mind. Thoth, the Atlantean who later returned as Hermes and was the father of alchemy, used the symbology of two snakes intertwining around a sword to represent healing. complete understanding and acceptance of the male and female within each organism creates the melding of two into one, thereby producing divine energy.

this medicine teaches you on a personal level that you are can bring about the transmutation of the fire medicine. this fire energy , when functioning on the material plane, creates passion, desire, procreation, and physical vitality. on the emotional plane, it becomes ambition, creation, resolution, and dreams. on the mental plane it becomes intellect, power, charisma, and leadership. when this snake energy reaches the spiritual plane, it becomes wisdom, understanding, wholeness, and connection to the Great Spirit. if you have chosen this symbol, there is a need within you to transmute some thought, action, or desire so that wholeness may be achieved. this is heavy magic, but remember, magic is no more than a change in consciousness. become the magician or the enchantress: transmute the energy and accept the power of fire.

Contrary:

if you have drawn this symbol in reverse, you may have chosen to mask your ability to change. look at the idea that you may fear changing your present state of affairs because this may entail a shot passage into discomfort. does this discomfort keep you from assuming the viewpoint of the magician within? is the old pattern safe, reliable, and a rut? in order to guide beyond that place which has become safe but nonproductive, become Snake. release the outer skin of your present identity. move through the dreamlike illusion that has insisted on static continuity, and find a new rhythm as your body glides across the sands of consciousness, like a river winding its way toward the great waters of the sea. immerse yourself in that water, and know that the single droplet which you represent is being accepted by the whole.

feel Snake’s rhythm and you will dance freely, incorporating those transmuting forces of the universe as part of your sensual dance of power.

i am happy to draw a medicine card for anyone who would like...for your totem, or answers...or anything.

quote:
A beautiful woman, a goddess, sleeps upon a golden dragon.
The dragon hisses, eyes glowing red in the darkness.
The woman lies under a thick velvet cover, her arms languid, her delicate fingers still and silent. Her skin is creamy blue, warm and soft. Her almond-shaped eyes move imperceptibly behind closed lids and long eyelashes.
She sleeps. She dreams...
Seated on a cloud, she hovers in the sky as thousands of men and women prostrate themselves before her in worship and adoration.
Inanna! They cry!
Oh! Queen of Heaven! They cry! We bow before you!
Suddenly, from beneath her, venomous snakes appear.
Writhing from her, they crawl toward the crowds.
First snakes, then dragons, then demons.
They devour her worshippers.
Terror fills the air. Blood stains the land.
No! The goddess screams. No!
I am you. Do not worship me! No!
Her anguish overcomes her. Gasping for breath, she wakens, trembling and crying. No! Tiny beads of sweat cover her body. No! Tears flow across her lovely face.
The dragon hisses...and then is silent once more.

quote:
We Pleiadians consider ourselves to be of Reptilian racial base. As evidence of our connection to you, the human species possesses a reptilian brain located in the cerebellum which controls the autonomic functions of the body. In all the worlds, including the Pleiadian star system, many races abound. There are no words in your language to describe these races. You could not even pronounce their names, because the sounds would be foreign to you.
When Anu first came to Terra [Earth] 500,000 years ago, the Dragon People and the Snake People were already here. Naturally, they were reluctant to share their planet. Anu wanted the the gold, but the Dragon People feared Anu would not respect their peaceful ways. They had spent eons setting lines of magnetic energy around Terra and had constructed endless tunnels in coopration with the Snake People. The energy vortexes which power their civilizations are in these tunnels, along with enormous stores of precious stones and metals. Quite a few battles ensued on Terra and in her skies. Finally, arrangements were made, territories were drawn, and Anu agreed to mate with a Dragon princess named Id to seal the alliance. From this coupling came the male child Enki...

These are from a book I love called Inanna Returns by V S Ferguson.

'ello Salome ~ I am really enjoying the spiral of this thread!!
In regard to what you said here: 'transmuting the energy within in terms of serpent energies combining and spiraling up the spine much like the caduceus pattern.'

I found this quote:

quote:
The Kundalini force lies dormant at the base of the spinal cord. This is the 'strength of all strengths' referred to by Hermes Trismegistus in the Emerald Tablet. Once awakened it can move either upwards or downwards. If it moves up, the person in question enjoys the greatest spiritual development. If it moves ddown it produces the worst kind of physical and psychic disturbance. Those who awaken the Kundalini force without first becoming pure and fully in control of themselves, fall prey to unrestrained sexual passions and a demonic lust for power that puts them in oppostion to the entire world. This is why disciples are advised not to attempt to awaken Kundalini before having worked on purity and humility. For this force, this 'strength of all strengths' can destroy as well as create. Tantric science teaches that Kundalini sleeps seven slumbers and that it must therefore be awakened seven times, because it is buried under seven layers of increasingly subtle matter.
It is relatively easy to awaken Kundalini from its first sleep. But the question is not so much of how to awaken it, but of how and in which direction to guide it. The direction Kundalini takes is determined not by a person's will, but by his qualities and virtues. When the Kundalini serpeent awakens, it goes at once to where it will find nourishment. If this nourishment is in a person's inferior self, then regardless of any efforts he may make, that is where Kundalini will go, and for the individual this means hell, true hell. In order for the serpent to move upward it must be attracted by the higher side. The Kundalini force rises up through the Sushumna canal, in the spinal cord. On either side of the Sushumna canal the two currents Ida (polarized negatively and linked to the Moon) and Pingala (polarized positively and linked to the Sun) rise in an intertwining spiral. The traditions of ancient Greece and Judaism also present this process with the symbolic images of the Caduceus of Hermes and the Sephirotic Tree.

This is from the book You Are Gods by Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

the image above illustrates to me the egyptian alchemy of the path of the two serpents, with light coalescing in the pineal gland of the head.

this is part of the alchemy of horus, from the Magdalen Manuscript ~

the dged or sacred pathway of the chakras begins at the base of the spine and goes up through the spine and into the head. there is a secondary djed pathway that moves from the perineum directly up to the crown called the Central Column of Central Pillar. in some schools it is referred to as the pranic tube.

(*my thought* ~ interesting...when i see 'central pillar' i always think 'caterpillar'...and as these experiences are meant, ultimately, to confer immortality...it's cool to think of the 'pathway' as a caterpillar, as the means to transformation -- that results in the butterfly. )

the black and gold serpents ~

the black serpent rises through the the lunar pathway on the left side of the djed and is connected with the Darkness of the Void or the creatrix of all creation. the gold serpent rises through the solar pathway on the right side of the djed and is connected with light. in a sense the two serpents are alchemically opposites and when you bring the two opposites together within an alchemical container there is the possibility of immense energy.

...as the life force (sekhem) rises up the djed it takes two different yet parallel paths. the black serpent rises from the left side at the base of the djed, while the gold serpent rises from the right side of the djed, also from the base. however, as they continue to rise up the djed toward the head, they cross over each other as they enter the chakras.

thus the gold serpent crosses over to the left side of the djed as it enters the sexual chakra and the black serpent crosses over to the right. as they climb further up the djed, the gold serpent crosses back over to the right side as it enters the solar plexus and the black serpent crosses back over to the left.

next the gold serpent crosses to the left side as it enters the heart and the black crosses over to the right side. as they enter the throat chakra, the gold serpent returns to the right side of the djed and the black serpent returns to the left side.

finally they meet at the center of the head with the gold serpent hovering on the right side while the black serpent hovers on the left side. both of them face each other with the pineal gland sitting between them.

Interesting.

I had a dragon dream a little while back.
In it, a woman that I know was projecting herself as a dragon expert of some sort to me.
She was trying to convince me that no, I had it all wrong, and the dragon was named this(forgot what the name was), and that the dragon symbolized darkness, evil, etc.

But as she was saying this to me, I had a very clear visual in my mind of a gentle plant-eating dinosaur instead. (looked like a brontosaurus). I sensed that she had a personal agenda in trying to convince me that what I felt was more innocent and gentle wasn't.

Do you believe that dragons could be a myth that is somehow linked to dinosaurs?
Or maybe that wouldn't make them a myth at all if so. The dream made me wonder.
If man and dinosaur never co-habited together on earth, there could still be a possibility that their remains were found by ancient people. Hence, the myth.
Although komodo dragons still exist, so perhaps there was once a larger similiar species?
It's been discovered that species do evolve to be much smaller on islands. (tiny elephants and pigmy race of humans). Aren't komodo dragons inhabitants of tropical/island geography? (too tired to google a search right now. )
