I used to have those very same Medicine Cards and loved them. They helped greatly me through some very torn times. I leant them to a friend and never got them back. (I've since moved away) But I am determined to get another deck sometime. IP: Logged |

from Kundalini - discover the secret wealth in your body by Vikkar TagorArousal from Birth there are very few people who are born with an aroused kundalini, and they can be divided into two main categories. in the first category, there are the people who are born with a partial arousal of the kundalini. people like these are called saints, and this may be the reason why their process was not completed in previous lives. the second category consists of people who were born with a completely aroused kundalini. such people are called "avatars" or incarnations. they are calm, detached from material issues, devoid of worry, full of love for the universe and for human and non-human creatures and possess a lofty spiritual stature. as people who are born to be metaphysical teachers, they have a clear vision and a high level of philosophical awareness. Veda methods of arousal the vedas teach us basic methods for arousing the kundalini ~ behakti yoga behakti yoga is the path of devotion, and it is meant for people whose hearts are more developed than their minds/intellect. jenana yoga jenana yoga is the path of wisdom, and it is suitable for people whose minds are more developed than their hearts. karma yoga karma yoga is the path of unselfish action, and it was created for people whose hearts and minds are equally developed. hatha yoga there are many people whose hearts and minds are not sufficiently developed. for this reason, guru Gorak and others developed hatha yoga during the middle ages. mantra yoga repeating a mantra is a smooth method that is devoid of risks and can be extremely powerful. raja yoga this is the "royal path" that is usually reached after hatha yoga and veda methods have been practiced for a reasonable length of time so the mind becomes steady, the action of the karmas is neutralized and emotions are purified. tapasya - the path of ascetic simplicity vasana and samskara are eliminated by observing ascetic simplicity. pranayama - deep breathing aushadhi - the use of plants (cannabis and lsd are not substances that can arouse the kundalini) laya yoga people whose chakras are not open... over-arousal of one of the centers is liable to cause pain and confusion, and conversely, it is liable to spark powerful lusts. kriya yoga kriya yoga is a safe and practical method that is not in conflict with the mind. it is more suitable for people who lead an ordinary lifestyle, as opposed to raja yoga, which is suitable for purified people (satvis) who have a high level of self discipline. tantra yoga this is the quickest way to arouse the kundalini, but only if the practitioner understands the two principles of nature - shiva and shakti - correctly, and after he has succeeded in rising above lusts and is not longer in thrall to urges. shaktipat samadhi is experienced through momentary arousal, when an expert guru transmits his vibrations into the practitioner by means of a touch or a glance, a string of beads he holds in his hands, a flower, a piece of fruit, a handkerchief, a dream, a letter, a telephone call, and so on, according to the method he employs. kundalini yoga is a combination of different and important types of yoga, and for this reason is suitable for everyone. it develops the individual equally in the four directions: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. an alternative method to kundalini - and one that is more moderate - is reiki.

salome, I loved the winged Lion and saved it to add to Daniels online photo album. Little cubs are amazing! aren't they? I find them to have such a presence, Daniel is definitely his own person! He has his Sun, mercury and mars in Leo. Again, THANK YOU! for starting this thread, I've enjoyed it so much. I loved the quote from Jesus, it resonated with me- What we bring forth will save us! Hugs! Char

Salome, I used to get Hummingbird quite often! It was nice to read again, thank you for taking the time, it was so thoughtful of you! I remember so much of it felt right to me. There was a part in particular...something about being so delicate of heart, that harshness/cruelty was devistating to Hummingbird spirit. I forgot...would love to read it again, if it's not too much trouble for you to type some more out. You've brightened my morning, thank you! Would love to hear your thoughts, silverstone. I do believe in animal totems. One that is profoundly significant to me is Polar Bear. I dream of them periodically, always at crucial times my life. Lone survivor in a barren environment. I think oddly enough I have both the extremes of Hummingbird and Polar Bear within me. I'm often torn between needing love and beauty above all, yet urged to conquer life in solitude (at least inwardly). IP: Logged |

Interesting, Lia... Bears, eh here's more on Shamanism in regards to Power Animals: Bear The bear is an animal that hibernates in caves to get away from the outside environment. So as a power animal, it indicates that you have to search within to fulfill your hopes and aspirations, or to find solutions to your problems. Bear is concerned with the reachings of goals. Just as a bear withdraws from the outside world when it hibernates, so should you withdraw from your entanglements and seeking refugee within--in the silence where the power of knowing is, and where the answers to your needs, and the harmony you seek, lie hidden. Bear also stresses the importance of dreamtime--the time to nurture your dreams and aspirations in quiet periods, and to seek ways to "own" them so they can become practical realities. Bear is the power of the meditative state. So if you have Bear as a power animal ask it to help you find the centre of your being--the place o perfect balance and harmony--and make sure that time for inner looking becomes part of your daily routine. Key indicator: Ability to draw strength from within. Silverstone ------------------ The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. it is told that Eagle Shield, a famous Sioux healer at the beginning of this century, received all his remedies from the Bear Spirit, and one of his songs contained the words, "Bear told me about all these things."Silverstone ------------------ The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake.
