Yin,

We generally reproach a person for the immodesty of their suffering
when it is ourselves who cannot tolerate so much as the suggestion of it.

I dont appreciate your comments about "complaining, b-tching and moaning".
I invite anyone to voice and vent their sorrow, and ask for solace,
and I promise to never judge anyone for being vulnerable in that way.
I personally find sadness much less offensive than insensitivity.

But, maybe its just me.

BR,

haha!

Guess I'm not there yet.

Seriously, though, I'm a great listener,
and I focus incredible attention on people,
trying to really connect, not just push my agenda.
I find that most people are threatened by the attention,
and, really, they have no desire to be known or understood.
They just want to trade surface appearances,
and they resent any attempt to discover more about them,
no matter how gentle and nonthreatening your approach.

I think many people in the world are legitimately different.
It is unfortunate that the vast majority of people are blind to this fact,
and they would rather chalk it up to something sordid.

Some people will never understand, and even when they "listen",
they have no real intention of hearing and understanding me.

Say la vie!

Same here, HSC.

And I really believe, also- that love can be given freely- since "infinite love truly is the only truth" once we tune into those higher realms.....Perhaps in a Utopian world there will never be any taboo regarding "rushing in" to things....if everyone could only have open hearts, purity of intentions, etc.

Oh vey!

Hello AG.. I could pretend that I know what you meant by the above, but...huh?
lol.. I'm very new to astrology, so I know my Sun is Virgo, Moon is Cancer and Rising is Saggitarius.. but that's about it lol.
Does that mean you and I are exact opposites? I'm curious...

Does it mean we are opposites? No. Probably far from that.

Your Sun falls exactly where my Moon is, so I have a natural empathy (Moon) for you (Sun). Your Moon is opposite my Sun, so you empathize with an energy similar to my Sun (just like my Sun except the approach is emotional rather than practical). My Mercury sitting on your Ascendant means that the way I think (Mercury) corresponds with the personality you present (Ascendant). My Saturn being opposite your Ascendant means that part of my personality may hamper (restrict, discipline) part of your personality. (I have Saturn opposite Mercury in my chart, so Saturn disciplines my way of thinking.) I'm not too familiar with how Neptune and Mars interact when they're conjunct between two people. We also have my Pluto conjunct your Uranus.

So overall, my guess would be that we're fairly compatible, and would make decent friends.

If we can look past our own pain long enough to hear about other people's experiences, then we can really connect. When we realize that other people suffer like we do it makes our pain a little easier to bear.

By letting go of our expectations and desires we can live in the moment, laugh at the ridiculousness of life, and revel in the blissful reality that life truly is.

The mind constantly strives to separate us from others, keeping us superior, unique, different. When we get smarter than the mind then we can allow the bliss of existence to flow.

HSC.. thanks for that! You asked what I do for a living. I'm an office geek lol. I sit at a desk all day and make up orders for repair of semi trailers. Then I review them when they are done and bill out the customers among other things.
I really want to get into something more. Maybe take either a night class or one of those computer classes. I don't see myself here till I retire....god help me lol.

And as for Yin's post... I too felt a bit of a stab there. I don't mean to beeotch and moan, but I don't have anyone around me with whom I can relate to...or who is willing to listen. For the most part it's refreshing to know that I'm not alone in some of my feelings. And to be able to type it out here and send it into cyber space is somewhat of a relief. Sometimes it's okay if nobody responds, but it's good knowing I'm being heard. And if nobody wants to be a part of it they don't have to read it. Just my opinion...

You said it much better, BR.

The problem is that despite having this great community here and being able to express ourselves freely and knowing that we are not alone in our "quiet desperation" we still complain... and moan... and b1tch... and feel miserable...
Hmmm...

I think I might know what you're getting at here, yin. I'm not offended.

The world is full of self-described lonely misfits. If any of us had any doubts about that, LL surely proved otherwise. So all of the lonely hearts gather together in one room and yet still feel alone. Why is that? There must be more to it than numbers.

I find that most people are threatened by the attention,
and, really, they have no desire to be known or understood.

There are a good many of those sorts. In my experience, it might be more accurate to say they have no desire to know or understand themselves and, yes, naturally would prefer that you not go digging around either. And so they hid, from both themselves and the observer in question, behind those superficial appearances the more thoughtful among us find so irksome. After only a moment of contemplation, I can begrudgingly admit that, despite a lifetime of claims to the contrary, there are more than a few aspects of myself I would rather not uncover. That right there offers me an opportunity to connect. Maybe it's an unspoken, between the lines type of connection. Maybe it's a connection based on listening to something someone else finds essential and I deem trivial and unworthy. But the opportunity is there just the same.

I'd like to think so anyway. I was reading To Marguerite yesterday - "And bade betwixt their shores to be the unplumbed salt estranging sea". Nevertheless, and with all due respect to Mr Arnold, I'm putting my money on the hope that the gulf is neither half so deep nor so wide as it so very often feels.

People are so complex and different and unique. And it's hard to say that everyone fits in one explanation of why we are lonely or alone. I don't fit in any one description. I take some and I leave some. But as Popeye would say "I am what I am".
As for what I choose to do about my shortcomings, that's part of why I'm here. I want to learn how to better myself, learn about others and how I tick also, and the way I choose to start is spiritually. I've noticed how much better I feel in general when I know I'm learning something along this twisty path I'm on. It's like someone switched the light on and I feel like I'm suddenly getting it.
It kind of reminds me of that saying.."Please be patient, God isn't finished with me yet" lol.
And as for the beeotching and moaning, I am venting. What do I want to accomplish by doing so? A number of things. I hope people can understand why I am who I am, I also need to vent sometimes, and yes, I do hope there may be someone out there who may say something I can take with me.
I am a good listener. I enjoy being there for people who need to vent. Sometimes people don't want you to do anything but just be there.

Sunny,

I asked because you have Uranus in the 10th and Sun conjunct your Midheaven (like me!).

I could see you doing something very different and unique (uranus),
and possibly acquiring a position of great influence (sun/pluto).
Good luck with those classes or whatever you decide to do!

I'm glad we're both seizing this opportunity to connect with someone of like heart and mind.

Maybe that is as much as can be asked of anyone?

take care,
s

26T,
quote:
It's because we dont know and love ourselves. Plain and simple. We kid ourselves into thinking we do, but if we are still lonely, that is our signal that we dont and still have work to do.

The simple is too hard.
For most of us it's easier to brood.

Who's up for the challenge?

Truly.

That's who I wanna love with.

It might be difficult/ painful to admit this at first, but you are right.

However, I feel, also, it is crucial to real-eyes the part we play in the unity of all, and an interconnected balance is essential to our well being.

That's all.

You flirt. I do.
"Too old"? I have Saturn in the 7th house. That's not possible.
