The other night on TV I started watching "Four Kings" or something like that about 4 guys who are roommates. They were all talking about going out, getting one night stands like if it is the normal thing to do, and everyone does it. Well..............I don't. One guys said to another something to the fact of "haven't you lately?" like if the other guy was abnormal for not having one lately. Do guys really think like this now-a-days? Am I out-dated and too old-fashioned for this world? I turned the show off because I thought it was a ridiculous subject to base a show on. It doesn't set a good example for young people. While I don't believe one should wh*r* around and disrespect one's body, I do believe that a fair amount of sexual experimentation before settling down is a good idea. Let's be honest... sex is no fun until you learn how to do it. I watched the episode you're talking about. I don't think they were necessarily making one night stands out to be an every day occurrence, but that they occasionally happen (however premeditated they may be)... and they can be a good thing. Who knows?... you may learn something new! IP: Logged |

Wow, by all of your guys responses, you do make it sound like I am outdated. I guess this is common for 20-ish aged people, then?Well, I *don't* believe in one night stands and I *don't* feel bad about it. I do think it's discusting. I don't care if you guys think I am a prude. IP: Logged |

Neph...What fun would this world be if we were all the same? Someone has to be you, and have your values. The world just wouldn't be the same otherwise. P.S. I guess if we're gonna throw labels around... If you're a prude, I'm a (used to be) $lut! IP: Logged |

TV is changing, which can be construde as offensive. Other things I've been seeing on TV that I find offensive guts (like CSI and Crossing Jordan) snot, farting, slobber and way too much blood I like old TV much better when it was only implied and you didn't have to actually see it. Some kissing is just as bad, If I can see all of their fillings, I've seen to much.IP: Logged |

Silvermoon ~ Oh, I am not offended or anything like that! No worries at all! Libra ~ I didn't intend this to be that kind of thread. But I agree, maybe it is inappropriate? I was thinking more along the lines that I am outdated and not really "hip" or "with it" anymore. If you like, I can delete the thread, I have no problem with that. The reason I post things here that could go to FFA, is because I have not been comfortable at FFA for quite a long time now, the energy there is very agitating. I do venture out and peruse around there only once in awhile. (no offense to anyone) Most important, good luck with your surgery. I am worried for you but hope all will go well. LalaLinda ~ they fart on TV? I had no idea! That is hilarious! (I mean, the idea of it) ARtlovesDawn ~ that is very interesting. The opposite could be said for out here in Universities. IP: Logged |

No no, sweetie... I was just being silly.Personally, I'm really not all that easily offended. (Unless we're talking about disgusting bodily functions. I'm a pretty squeamish.) Thanks for your well wishes! IP: Logged |

Oh Nephthys ,The world is a big, big place. Television only presents a teensy bit of what goes on. TV is such a competitive marketplace, that few people would truly say it gives a comparable depiction to what goes on in real life. Aphrodite IP: Logged |

Personally, I am also not into modern TV. I rarely watch TV anymore, because I'm annoyed that almost every show has some sexual content to it. I'm anything but prudish (at least I like to think so), but it gets annoying. The other day, I turned on The Simpsons and was shocked at just how thick the double-meanings are. I mean, it was always a crudish show but it seems a lot more so now than when it first started. IMO, all the sex and violence serves to disensitive the people making it les sreal.IP: Logged |
