gorgeous, T, reminds me of the woods around my house when i was a kid - out in them ALL summer long!AG - i saw something about that awhile ago. in fact there was a tv show about that wiretapping program, many interviewees were agents on the job then. apparently they had so much info they didn't know how to deal with it, so they were invading our privacy for little or no effect...a practice run? and has the new admin backed off AT ALL? i have been keeping my tv behind closed cabinet doors for about 10 years now! it's not even plugged in at the moment, and i know it sounds paranoid but i always wondered a)whether anyone was connected to that monitor on the other end and b) if the thing wasn't energetically harmful even when off! i can hear a tv from the other side of the house even when it's almost inaudible to the people watching it. there's a high-pitched electronic whine that bugs my inner ear, oversensitive since my days in front of amplifiers... i tend to think that part of the purpose of all this electronic surveillance, digital tv everywhere, cellphones etc, is just to create static to interfere with our inbuilt telepathy and connection to source. i am using my cellphone less and less, and ALWAYS on speaker not my ears. at night it's buried in my bag surrounded by muffling materials! am i paranoid? i see it as a reasonable precaution...? wow kat, i am the same way with tv's. if someone falls alseep with one on, i will inevitably make my way to the room and shut it off as i cant sleep with the noise.i am bored and dont feel like working much today, i got a lot done this week and just kinda hanging in there until 5 so i can hit the art fair in ann arbor. you would love it. ann arbor is a pretty cool town. when i was a kid (15 or so) i would jump the train up to ann arbor for the hash bash and act like i was a college student and just roam the streets being "cool" in my tie dye shirts and stuff. when i get too upset at the kids, i have to remind myself how wild and free i was and smile and let it go. i know what you mean. my daughter is so strait-laced in some ways and no way does she give her son the liberties i gave her! but she waved all her wildness under my nose for a few years there, while i kept mine as well hidden as possible from my parents!i am guessing what you mean by hash-bash lol! i remember ann arbor is a college town and has had a rep for years for being quite cool, never been there myself. the closest i ever got was a) passed through the twin cities on the train from new york to oregon when i was 17 and off to college.... and b) had a boyfriend from chicago, so visited there a few times in the late 60's (not VERY close, is it?) where did you get all that animal totem info from by the way? i googled it. just google, owl totem, then stuff comes up. yeah, i kept my ways under wraps as much as possible too, but like you said once before, i am closer to my kids than i was to my parents, and they think they can say and do pretty much anything in front of me or not too.
a lot of things they do or have done i would really rather not know. ann arbor has a bay area feel to it, artsy community. supposedly open minded. salasalito (sp) kind of feel, only more people. (and actually not as open minded as they think, as most people that consider themselves open minded are actually intolerant of differing opinions) to each his own... info on what a hash bash is - Hash Bash is an annual event held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on the first Saturday of April at high noon on the University of Michigan Diag. A collection of speeches, live music, street vending and some occasional civil disobedience are centered on the goal of reforming federal, state, and local marijuana laws. The first Hash Bash was held on Saturday, April 1 1972 in response to the March 9th 1972 decision by Michigan Supreme Court declaring unconstitutional the law used to convict cultural activist John Sinclair for possession of two marijuana joints. This action left the State of Michigan without a law prohibiting the use of marijuana until after the weekend of April 1 1972.[1] Chef Ra was a fixture of the Hash Bash for 19 consecutive years before his death in late 2006.[2] Ann Arbor has very lenient laws regarding the possession of marijuana – a $15 fine first $50 second $100 third (and subsequent) offense—and is a simple civil infraction rather than a criminal offense (it was really cool back in the day, or so i thought!) pretty much sums up the extent of my political activism!

hehe, sausalito may have that kind of feel now but i worked at a hotel there for a few years and met some of the older denizens - the ones who remembered when the town madam was elected mayor, and other juicy character references for what was basically a really rough town! it got its fashionable and artistic rep later, and the place i worked at was known in the cocktail days for its famous ramos fizz - not for the view (up there with the most spectacular worldwide) or history of the original owner, a cute guy nicknamed tapeworm jackson for his voracious appetite!!IP: Logged |

woke up the other morning around 3 - with this in my head after a very vivid dream...and just realized the 2nd verse is all about someone who talks in their sleep! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MWJwGM2Oo8 i hadn't thought of this song for ages, but i always loved the depth of the production, from its sense of space (almost vacuum) to its fullest..funny what people bring you in dreams! this one i just love, specially the guitar and keybds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmALL-V74Po

i'm still here! my place of work has been going through paroxysms lately, nearly got locked out (as in evicted) which has been staved off, meanwhile she hopes she is selling the place and all of a sudden is putting a bunch of energy into stimulating business. meanwhile she owes me thousands and i am trying to figure out the best way to get out - with my money but without bringing the whole thing down around everyone's ears...such fun!i feel i have had enough of lurching from crisis to crisis, but don't really want to start working for a new boss in the same place....decisions decisions....
