Good looking people can be smart though. I mean, they're just like you and me except they're BEAUTIFUL. Beauty doesn't affect intelligence.

Like most working models also go to school. Modeling is just how they pay for it.

Anyway, I either like male model types or nerdy-looking boys with big noses. In general I like thin/lean with just a little muscle definition. I love good veiny forearms. When looking for a mate, I prefer looks over personality tbh. I can deal with any personality type (Venus in Pisces I guess). I am forgiving of anything when it comes to personality. However, I can't make myself sleep with someone I don't find physically attractive. So that's why I'm way pickier about looks over personality.

@ Shankara. I'm with you on the Morrissey thing circa 1989. But then he also had a hearing aid (very sexy).
Now, he just looks like my Dad (very very disturbing indeed!!!).

Gwaaaan Zala, make your move on the pot-bellied four-eyed sex bomb. If you don't I will, he sounds just my type!

I am with BM and eve on the voice thing. My bloke sounds like John Hurt, fwooooaaarrrggh. He may dress like a jumble sale and have strange skin disorders but hey, I don't care. I just open my ears and my mind and...stuff.

*snogs eve*

And "War of the Worlds" on vinyl featuring Richard Burton is like porn to me.

With Mars in Taurus I totally understand the voice thing. It's actually my favourite physical feature on a man. Ah, the speaking voice. Sean Pertwee is the one that I equate to porn. Watching Event Horizon gets things moving. And lets not speak of Equilibrium.

A "snog" while I drink my tea! I feel so British.

I'm not attracted exclusively on the vibe level, I'm realizing. The physical does matter. B/c if it didn't matter at all, then I'd probably be bi.

I met a girl last fall who I instantly thought was very pretty and noticed that we had some sexual energy between us, which was odd, because I'd never experienced that type of chemistry with a woman. Then a couple of months ago, we were at a party, both drinking, and it comes up that she's bi. So another female guest asked to kiss her and she said that, actually, she'd been wanting to kiss me for a while. What an appeal to my vain Leo Moon! How could I resist, lol. My SO was there and after he gave his blessing , we got busy. It was pretty good, but even with that sexual energy between us, that energy didn't translate into that strong level of lust I've felt when kissing guys who I also felt sexual chemistry with. So if it's purely an energy thing for me, and our energy was telling me we had sexual chemistry, then I should've enjoyed the physical expression of it as much as I have with guys, right? So since I didn't, since I can feel the gap between the energy and the pleasure in manifesting that energy physically, I'm thinking the physical does matter for me. Maybe not as much as it does for some people, but it matters.

It's highly probable I'm overthinking this.

If a man is overly 'pretty', not attractive to me. (this does NOT apply to Pierce Brosnan...he's yummy)

I like a manly man, especially if he has a really niiiiiice chest. That does it for me. Then his voice. Soothing, deep and a really niiiiiice chest. Ha ha. Kind of scruffy is good...longish hair...sexay

Someone who can hold an interesting, intelligent conversation.

Did someone say "British"? I think British men are so sexy (yes, I mean English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish)...

But anyway, I am definately not attracted to conventional beauty. Who is conventionally beautiful anyway? Maybe Jude Law because of the evenness and symmetry? But even he is losing his hair (or was, before the plugs). Even though Brad Pitt is sexy, he's not textbook handsome. I actually fall in love with the flaws. What is even better is if they are hot in every other way but they have just one or two quirks - hair they can't control, imperfect teeth, large ears, freckles, glasses, scars and I love moles but I am picky about them (they have to be small or clusters of cheek moles in particular). So sexy.

I really love imperfect teeth - celebrities like David Bowie, Skeet Ulrich (remember him), Matthew Perry made me so angry by getting their teeth fixed into those perfect white chiclets! I like thin men too, not bodybuilders, with large manly hands (Mars in Gemini), scruffy and unshaven is best. See, I like all of this imperfection but I like it in a nice package - "spiffy" casual clothes, tailored suit.

I only dated one guy who was conventionally handsome (a Capricorn) and everyone thought he was a god. My little sister had a crush on him and she was 9 or 10 at the time, my friends compared his looks to celebs "He looks like the guy from 'Not Another Teen Movie'" - that is, Chris Evans. "He looks like a young John Travolta" is what my grandmother said - how people went from Chris Evans to John Travolta was beyond me. I think it was the dark hair/pale, smooth skin/light eye combo. His flaw was that he was boring. I think personality flaws are worst than flaws in looks. Plus I am into brainy or creative guys, they usually aren't the prettiest. I guess I like a beautiful soul...

My sister (Taurus) is still into pretty boys though and hates scruff or imperfections - Cillian Murphy is the man of her dreams.

I have Sun in Leo (7th), Aquarius Rising , Moon in Libra (9th), Venus in Leo (6th/7th), Mars in Gemini (5th), Jupiter in Leo (7th)

"I like men with funny noses, ears that protrude, irregular teeth..." - fellow Leo, Jackie O.

Wha? How is he not textbook handsome?

Anyway I like girly guys. I don't like muscular, I don't like hairiness, and I don't like fat/broad chests. Even Brad Pitt is a little too beef cakey for me.

Honestly the biggest thing that attracts me to a guy is personal style. You can be butt ugly but if I like the way you dress, I'll be attracted to you.

I don't know - I was thinking about the imperfections in his skin and how he is more of a scruffy handsome than a cleancut handsome. But then again Robert Redford doesn't have the perfect, pretty boy skin either. Hmmm... Maybe it was a stretch...Either way, he is sexy! lol

It's interesting--the idea of conventional beauty is totally subjective BUT, in daily practice within a culture, there is usually an unspoken acknowledgement of what "level" people are at or what "league" they're in.

I don't like it (when I said I go for gorgeous types I meant people I personally find gorgeous), but I do think it happens.

This is interesting. I don't know - I think that “rugged”, has become the new conventionally handsome. There used to be a "ruggedly handsome" sub-category but now everyone who is cute but has scruff considered is conventionally handsome. I think that "handsome" is a strong word. I personally wouldn't use the word “handsome” to describe Brad Pitt. I think I'd use "cute" or even "sexy”. I guess the blonde/blue thing is the All-American Ideal so that would be conventional...Maybe my idea of handsome is so unconventional that I don't notice the conventional when I see it. Sorry, I've got that Aquarius rising. I am past the fluffy celeb Pluto in Sagittarius phase already – bring on the tall, dark, angular seriousness of Pluto in Capricorn!

Downtomars, you just made my day! Like you said about the American ideal of blonde and blue eyed is just so typical that it doesn't stand out, it is just too obvious... I mean its as if it could be Shakespearian times, when they regarded the fairer as the most beauteous!

That being said,

I find it extremely absurd and pathetic that you jumped allover me with a "Holier than thou" attitude because I said I am not dating a woman with ugly feet since the above is your "Wish List"

Furthermore, you are either a drunkard or have no idea what you are saying, how can you be attracted mainly to someone's looks at the first place then say they can be butt ugly but if they dress well then you are game?

You are truly a hypocrite with honors. I wonder what sun sign you subscribe to.

It does sound a tad superficial to be attracted to clothes and not the body/soul inside them
But if superficial floats someone's boat, then so be it

Well, each to their own -- and tastes tend to change with age.....

I don't think that the way a person chooses to adorn his or her body or present his or her physical image to the world is all that superficial. It's a huge indicator of our aesthetic sense, the image we wish to convey, how we feel about ourselves...and it involves intention and choice.

The way a person looks, especially the choice-based aspects of his or her look, are amazingly revealing about deeper, more internal qualities.

And that's also one reason why some people who would not be "conventionally good-looking" by most standards are considered so beautiful--because their style, flair, and allure reveal their inner beauty.

However, rather than superficial and superfluous items "revealing" inner beauty, I think it's the other way around: a confident person's inner beauty radiates and overpowers/eclipses whatever is on the surface.....

Agreed, and that's my point, on another thread I was saying I have a set of standards when choosing or hunting for a mate, looks certainly play a huge role, and she jumped allover me because of it, (Ohhh you shouldn't pick based on looks or feet you have to look deep into a person's personality etc regardless of looks) LMAO

And here she is all for going after model types and looks and leaving substance, exactly what she was arguing with me about making it sound like I am a blasphemer for my preference!!

Apparently not only a sugarcoater but also a hypocrite and a chameleon.

Amazing

"style, flair, and allure reveal their inner beauty"

No they dont, many people look gorgeous, whole, content and beautiful on the outside due to their style but they are a terrible mess on the inside, they lack confidence and are so filled with insecurities.

Style is a necessity for me yes but it doesn't mean I am picking based solely on that, it just compliments the entire picture / character.
