I have my Sun in the Eighth House and I definitely related to that article. I've struggled with feeling loneliness and feeling like no one else thinks and feels how I do. I can imagine other people's pain and motives easily- empathy has always been a strong point. I also will picture a white light around me if I'm feeling negative energy or feeling vulnerable. I used to have a fear of death that would give me anxiety attacks, but after discovering books about past lives my fear of dying was wiped away, although the thought of losing someone close to me will cause me to panic! Luckily I haven't experienced many losses in my life. And I'm a natural detective- I've thought I would make a great Private Investigator, lol. I love having my Sun in the Eighth! IP: Logged |

For me, it's Mars. Blocked energy.I think the 8th house is Saturn's testing ground. This, because Saturn rules the #8 in numerology. It is here where we are put through the changes, and in the 10th where we get our scores. Pass or fail. For me, the 8th house is a place where we/our/that planet is tested and tested again and again. Not in the plutonic/scorponic emotional way, but in the practical Saturn way. "Not good enough, try harder" Is the message any planet in this house receives. IP: Logged |

I remember reading the article that the OP posted 4 or 5 nights ago...hahaha. After a random trip to a graveyard with my Summer Camp when I was five or six, I did have an obsession with death for while...but it certainly wasn't a fascination. More like fear..LOL. My grandmother also died on my second birthday, which is pretty interesting to note from a detached perspective (moon = women in family). And my mother's immediate sister kind of has what you would consider a terminal disease. Apparently though, she went to a famous Catholic Shrine somewhere near my mother's village and she's gotten much healthier. The thing about the whole psychic/empath label is that I have ALOT of placements in my chart that indicate the same thing so I can't really pinpoint which one does this. I know its true though, I had 'feelings' about things (like the social worker in the article) which turned out to be true. I think alot of people are not comfortable around me on first impression because they have the feeling that they're secrets/masks can't hold around me. It's not like I go around looking for scandalous sh%t either, sometimes I would like there to be some sort of wall between me and other people too....I don't like to know this crap about people.
As for the Moon/Lilith part of it....lets just say I have to dress like a Nun in daily life, otherwise I attract the wrong male attention. I'm also completely disgusted by that and how easily affected some guys are to other's sexuality. It's weakness to me, so I don't respect people like that. Some people think it's 'man-hating' but its something me and my friends would go through on a daily basis considering where we lived.
**Moon in also the depositor of My sun so that's probably what makes me much 'darker' than the Average Cancer. IP: Logged |

I have an 8th house stellium(Sun,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter,Psyche,Vesta) and my 8th house is ruled by the Sun in the 8th house...And well Im not psychic and I don't pick up on other people's vibes or I don't pick up disturbances. I don't think I've gone through any rebirthing in life till now as Pluto transits from my 12th house to my 1st house. My view of transformations are different, I don't feel the abuse/self abuse, anger and depression in life were transformative forces. They are more like obsticles to overcome in my life, they didn't make me a survivor but made me understand and appreciate life a bit better.. About the first impression thing, this probably as to do with Scorpio on the 11th house with Pluto being in the 11th house, is what make people very weary of me and me weary of them. If I change to a whole house system, it puts my Sun in the 9th house which makes sense because stelliums mostly get their kick and fuel when the Sun is involved but my Sun is not a part of my stellium anymore, so my stelliums poweress dies down a bit. This would changed my 8th house ruler Leo is now the 9th house.. "...Ruler of the 8th house in the 9th house: My transformation begins with my opinions. My need for transformation is subservient to my need for expansion. I transform in an effort to expand my horizons. I transform feelings of vulnerability by being involved in larger world issues..." Edit: Ok I think I got what I was feeling across >.> IP: Logged |

I have moon and jupiter in 8th and i can see right through people and know things i'm not supposed to know. this was very confusing as a child when my abusive dysfunctional parents would tell me i was crazy and imagining things. Also my sun is in the 12th house so that's probably why I almost believed them. I thank my lucky stars that I discovered astrology, it has helped me immensely!IP: Logged |

Looks like we have the same Ascendant ( Tell me why I thought you were a pisces rising? LOL).
Only, my 8th house ruler is in he 7th though so transformations are suppose to come through relationships/other people. I can tell you that I seriously grew up after my first serious relationship. I'm not exactly jaded, but a little more realistic. =__= My 8th house ruler is also in the 7th, so I guess it means these two houses are chained together. IP: Logged |

Sun, Pluto, and Mercury in the 8th house. Eros too. I've read that the houses are the environment that your planets (the characters of your psyche) do their work/jobs (which are represented by the sign the planet is in). My Merc and Pluto are in Virgo (represents healing and service for the job) and my Sun(the King, masculine head of the "corporation" that is You)/Eros are in Libra (the temple dancer).

Lol at Pisces Rising well I am Pisces Moon, my neg egg ways online will be the death of me.When people speak of 8th house transformations, even those on campus taking Astrology it always the "bad" things that make you transform and well the bad things in life didn't make me transform it made me learn but transform no, it was dealing with other affairs outside myself is where I transform. It's interesting about the 8th house ruler in the 7th house and one of your transformation came from a relationship. Im going to start looking into that and see if there some basis and then probably forget about it lol. IP: Logged |

Lol Diablo. Sometimes I feel like the crazy cat-lady that lives in the Eighth House! Alia- Ooh past life regression! I'm VERY interested in that. I was referring to the writings of Brian Weiss when I said I found books that helped me deal with the fear of death. Many Lives Many Masters is like the Bible to me IP: Logged |

My 8th House ruler... all of Virgo is in the 8th house but my 8th house begins in the last degrees of Leo and continues into about 10 degrees of Libra. Does that mean that Mercury is the ruler of my 8th? Or the Sun? Either way, that would mean the ruler of my 8th is actually IN my 8th. I'm sure that has a name that I have heard but can't remember... depositor??? But I'm wondering what it means when the ruler of your house is IN the house.IP: Logged |

Whats Psyche like in the 8th for you, Diablo?I can't get a grip of what Psyche is like, maybe because I don't know much about it and I guess for me the more you work and tap on your psychic energies the stronger they become and I believe the energies are there because my chart says it but I just never tap on them or work on them..thus I don't pick up vibrations. Lol Dino..sometimes i think i AM the crazy cat lady stuck in a little blonde's body hahahaCK: its been interesting, i can say that lol. 8th being all about what's beneath the surface, the occult, sex, death & regeneration and mine being ruled by Scorpio..well! Its a double whammy there haha I'm an empath, its like having a radio antenna sticking out of my head and picking up on everybody's frequencies. I really had to learn how to distinguish between someone's feelings and thoughts from my own and now that i'm in my mid-20s i've realised a lot of things were being of other's thoughts and emotions imposed on my psyche, making me choose wrong decisions etc. Being a radio antenna, i get tired in big groups of complexes. I work as a bartender in a casino, I'm so tired and drained after work from being around so many drunk, drugged up, cashed up ppl. Very draining. Going to a concert or a music event, 5 hours later I'm whinging cos i wanna go home after having all my energies drained completely. Being so water ruled, I find my water gets drained and I get dry lips, mouth and tongue, i'm dehydrated etc. Whenever something has been draining my water, whether its another person's feelings/thoughts or a situation, I need to have a shower or drink lots of water to replenish my energies. I've had serious problems with Major Depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, melancholia..now i realise a lot of it was to do with being an antenna and being drained repeatedly and not understanding my gift. I find anti-psychotics and anti-depressants dull that ability. I'm very Mars, Neptune & Pluto ruled. Saturn in there has taught me how to use it correctly and for the good. I'm pretty sure Saturn in there is what stops me from having an orgasm through sex! IP: Logged |

Ami, did you find it on Astro.com? It tells you the degrees of it. If you look in the extended chart section, there's an option for the list of asteroids. You can click that and asteroids come up.... I think it's #433. Psyche is #16 IP: Logged |

quote: After researching this issue for myself and others it dawned on me what the true lesson of the eighth house is. Instead of feeling separate or different from others we need to think of it as feeling our “Oneness” with others. These individuals are feeling others energies, auras, thought forms and emotions. This is experiencing oneness with others, not separateness. If these individuals can begin to look at their experiences in this way, then they will start to feel an unexplained happiness come over them. They will realize that they are truly blessed and would never want to lose the natural healing gifts that they possess.
By being able to see to the depths of other people, we might either lose in the darkness (resentfulness for the ugly "truth" of humanity), or find the light within (understand, accept and be compassionate to people's flaws and see the goodness in them). For me, I came to understand many important things in my life regarding to how people function in the psychological/emotional level. People might have ugly sides, but I believe that there is goodness within them too. But the 8th house is not only a protection - it also enables one to become a protector. By being able to see to the depths of other people, you can heal and protect the ones important to you. I have Aries Sun/Moon/BML/Venus/Mercury (AC ruler)/Eros/Psyche/Eris/Kaali/Aura (and some other stuffs lol) in the 8th house.
I've always wanted to be understood, but now I'm happy as long as the people that are important for me cares for me, even if they might not fully understand me. But well, somehow, sometimes I'm surprised by how some of them actually know things about me that I never really thought hey would know or see me that way. Also, in the past, I was so closed to myself that it's surprising how good it actually feels, to emotionally rely on others (complaining and whining feels good after all lol) or to feel that we are actually more similar than I've thought.
