It gets odder for me to hear that because I really don't 'feel' it. I'm alot more temperamental inside because I absorb *everything*.

My Ascendant is Virgo....and with my NN there and Saturn...it hasn't been pretty at all.
But I finally understand the gist of it....and yes I am very Virgo like and my closest friends either have a lot of Virgo in them or have it as a Sun, Moon, Ascendant....that's just how it is.
And I love them all, I attracted them to me to help me learn from them. But that's the blend of my chart.
I personally don't see my self as a Virgo Asc....I see myself as Arien....but that's as expected as well.
As for my appearance...well if you take in to account that Saturn is conjunct it...then its on point for sure....
I guess thats very similiar to having a Cap Asc as well.

Great topic Ami!

I attract Capricorns (women) as friends, myself, and alot of times its usually me giving them advice. It's odd that I find I have alot in common with them too. I've always thought it was from the point of me sharing the same axis with them (Cancer-Capricorn), but perhaps there is something everyone else sees that I don't.

The reserve, the semi-workaholic behavior, and the self-sufficiency are the only things I can relate to from Capricorn. The whole need for status....hmmm. I mean, I wouldn't want to marry a deadbeat loser nor would I want to be one myself, but I'm not that obsessed with being at the top.

I'm very much like my Asc Sag. lol How I look and feel and think. But I also have Jupiter trine my sun. And other planets and aspects that have similar qualities which could be why it seems strong for me.

Cap ASC here, I think I see the world from a cap's perspective and I appear distant and reserved to people that don't know me; I dont have any close Cap friends but I usually get along well with Cap people.

Somehow I doubt that ^ - though.

Very interesting, Enchatress(a Scopio name )
What are your placements---
Venus, Mars,Pluto etc and what are your important aspects--if you can say?
I am wondering why you appear this way to others when you don't feel it. It sounds like you might have a strong Venus/Pluto aspect.

Ami

Hahahaha... True, my screen name is a bit Scorpionic, but I acquired it for online use as a teenager and I just never took the time to think up a different one.

As for placements... Yes, I do have a close Pluto/Venus contact. Actually, my Venus is at 0 Virgo, my Saturn is at 0 Scorpio, and Pluto figures into that configuration at 27 Libra. It is a pretty close sextile. (Venus also conjuncts my MC at 1 Virgo and Sun at 2 Virgo).

My Mars though, is very strong as well. It's in Leo in a grand trine configuration with my Moon in Aries (which would reinforce the Mars) and Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in Sagittarius.

You know... I always forget about that Pluto Venus sextile since my poor Venus is so afflicted (it's in Virgo, retrograde, sextiling Saturn exactly, squaring Chiron in the 7th and Jupiter and Uranus in the 1st).

I tend to forget that it has much power whatsoever except for the fact that it conjuncts my Sun and MC. lol. But you're probably right, part of that perception others have of me might be from the Pluto Venus contact. Especially since Pluto itself is in Libra and Pluto rules my Asc.

Ami -

I really sense Scorpio in you. I see you tenaciously (Scorpio) trying to understand people's humanity (Gemini).

Without that Scorpio, would you have been able to hold on to your good heart?

Without that Gemini and Cancer, would your Sco be so focused on analyzing and delving into the mysteries of the human mind and heart?

It's all tied up. We're not the sum of our parts. Instead, every part creates how other parts come alive.

It's surprising that your Sco influence hasn't been upfront and center for you, since it's not just your Asc. You also have Pluto aspecting an angle and at least one (?) personal planet, plus all that 8th house action.

You previously noted that your parents had their Pluto's on your Mars. I think that was a brilliant way to study your natal. Our natals didn't grow in a vacuum, so we won't clearly see how we experience our natals if we don't see how the people in our earliest environment trained us to feel it. Your parents said *they* were Pluto, not you. Pluto on your MC illustrates that as well, since that placement could show that you experienced your authority figures as Pluto figures. So they got Pluto, and now you're taking it back. Would another Asc be bothering? Would it be strong enough to reclaim? And would that theft have been as comprehensive for another Asc?

Ami Ann,

One simple question for you:

Are you some kind of CLAIRVOYANT?

Thank you for answer.

B.

Interesting topic. With Sun conjunct Ascendant, I always think what you see is what you get. That's not necessarily the case, in that I'm hard to get to know (other natal factors will account for that), but I don't pretend to be someone I'm not or wear a mask, etc, so in that sense it stands right.

Thank you (((Jane)))--so much. Your post affirmed me a great deal.
I am very appreciative that you look at all the parts to try to find the whole.
I feel more of a sense of a road map to go on.
Thank you so very much.

Dear B,
I feel embarrassed if I am putting myself as a Clairvoyant.
I will explain how I am psychic.
I think I am a natural medical intuitive. When someone tells me about an illness--I can feel(usually) if it is serious or not by a feeling in my gut.
A sense of heaviness or lightness(well -being) will come over me.
I have been 100% right so far in this.
It has to come to me. I cannot fish for it.
If I fish for it---it will be wrong--usually.

The other way I am psychic is that things will come to me from the outside.
I will just know information.
It has to come from the outside to me or I can't trust it.
If it comes from inside me--it will just be my own wish or desire.
It always feels like it comes from the sky in to my head.
I will know all kinds of things--some big, some small.
One example was my friend wanting to sell his van. I said he would sell it next Wed.
The following Wed --he sold it.
I feel like a channel for information--an opening where it can come .
Any striving or forcing on my part blocks it.

Ami

You have a lot of humility. That's really beautiful. Don't underestimate your abilities. I love that you acknowledge that they come to you, through you, and not from you. I've seen a lot of people get caught up in the ego element of being psychic and you're an exception.

That is exactly how it happens to me, too.

And I second what PA said, it is truely refreshing to see someone as modest and kind around here.

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't know quite how to say it.

(Instead, a quote from a TV show came to mind: "If there is a crisis, you don't freeze, you move forward. You put the rest of us to move forward because you've seen worse, you've survived worse, and you know we'll survive too. You say you're all dark and twisty; it's not a flaw, it's a strength. It makes you who you are.")

My grandmother made my life miserable, for a while. I remember comparing our charts, when I started to learn astrology.
Me: "Ohhh, she has this or that on my wotsit, etc. That might explain why she seemed to hate me. I have my Pluto on her (can't remember), though."
mum: "Good for you!!"

I have virgo rising and the only way it influences me is how I approach life.

I look after my health and I worry alot.

That is the only thing my virgo AC does.

I have Scorpio rising ~ I used to think, "Me? mysterious?" in regards to the usual that's written about those of us with this placement. I read one report, one day in 2002, had that thought, and within two hours, was informed by two different people, that I'm hard to get to know, and "mysterious".

It started to get on my nerves, but I see it now, at times. (I've always been open in some ways, though, and I'm no longer as private as I was in others.)

Wow, Teasel. This touches me. I wish I could paper over all the bad parts--greed, selfishness, jealousy, spite, pettiness, the things we do for pure ego to hurt others.
I used to be able to look at them and know they were human NOT a particular defect to me.
They must be cuz Shakespeare, any great author and even the Bible has the same story of man.
Thanks for being a wonderful friend!

Teasel.

I think that our best qualities can also be our worst. Flaws are important. They make us human. Not if they're used as an excuse to hurt other people or treat them badly or with a superiority complex, but just to see that we're all imperfect - like we're supposed to be. I think it takes the pressure off.
