Recent merc retrogrades have been so bizarre for me. Of course the usual breakdowns...BUT as I am looking for more employment, I only seem to land interviews during the mercury RX...how unfortunate, right? YES and...bizarre! AARRGH.also, i have a mini business on the side and I only seem to get larger sales during the rx... ARGH. W.T.F, haha

That's funny! Are you sure you don't have Merc rx natally? That would lessen its effect for you. Check it out!

Because of the holidays everyone wants to get out of Merc rx so badly. Are you doing this with the help of a forum? You mentioned something above. Do you have any real life help? Do you have all the photos etc. of the products? How come you didn't just do it on etch or somesuch? Again I think you took a very brave decision and you are admirable and an inspiration.
yikes, i heard from another girl about annoying customers like that! this is my main reason i despise doing anything for other people. it's a huge step forward for me to have decided to sell my jewellery, i never thought i wanted to spend so much time on something that goes to strangers! today was a bit better. still struggling with conflicting scripts. but you know what? i don't care!! i decided that i stop being bothered by every single detail now! if something doesn't work and i have to take the second choice that's not as spiffy, i'll live! and yea, i was getting advice at a pet forum. and no, they cannot really help me but they are so nice and supportive there. my original plan (from 1 1/2 years ago…) was selling on Etsy and other similar platforms. it all started when i asked at the pet forum if anyone sell on Etsy. someone said if i have a website/blog why not have something small there. so i made a sub page on my Weebly website, which grew too big to be contained within an existing site, so i made another Weebly page for the shop. then this got too big and Weebly was too limiting for what i wanted… so… i just thought, ok i make one from scratch! how, well i'll have to teach myself!
you say i'm brave and inspirational. my mother would say impulsive and careless. IP: Logged |

oh yea, and i have most of the product photos taken too. really, all i need to do it to set up the backbone and the put in all that. then fine-tuning and then upload to the server.this server thing is tricky too. my guy already has 2 domains at one.com fo i decided to take one of them and keep my shop a subdomain. less ideal but i'll get my own domain when i'm doing better. but this one.com... first of all, i don't know where i access the root. but i'll deal with that when the time comes i guess... Never heard of "one.com" before. Are they good? Do you know of any free domains? I think it's prudent to make it a subdomain and free yourself up when the business has taken off. I'm always in the lookup for good free domains; let me know if you know of any. It seems most of the ones I know are U.S. based and since I'm now in Europe I need European ones.

i'm not sure one.com is any good, my guy paid for 2 domain names there because it's really cheap and it was the one a friend of his found for him (not very reliable!).originally though, i was going to use a free host and tolerate www . myshop.freedomainforever111000free . com or something of the sort, but because my guy has a bit more decent domain name so i took it. at first i was looking at this list. http://www.free-webhosts.com/search-webhosts.php?ADV=001000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000 i don't know any free ones otherwise... i really can't figure out how to upload my site to one.com though. there is an icon that says "file manager" or something similar, but when i click it it says "sorry it's only usable with Internet Explorer". wtf? who in the world make a function accessible only to IE? it's a dying browser and i cannot even test my site with IE because i'm on mac. Wow, they're exclusive with IE?! Well, most of the corporate US world are still using IE exclusively something that I didn't like as a grad student (working on Linux for most of my programming projects back then). It was like a double life: IE by day, Linux/Mac by night. My then bf was a Linux maverick and I was cheating on him at work with IE. It's good to have skills for all/most of browsers but I agree that a host that doesn't accommodate a broad spectrum of platforms is suspect. I'll check out your link. Hope not spam there! I hate those "free" sites; they always spam my 'puter. IP: Logged |

Lechien, Have you finalized your launch date? I hope you wait a bit until Merc rx shawdow period is over (in about 5 days from today). Are your glitches a bit better today? I think I feel a slight improvement with things but LL *was* down earlier so not sure we're out of the woods yet. IP: Logged |

boo, i don't know what to do if one.com doesn't let me upload my files. it's just a total face-palm retardation to me, what are they thinking!? i didn't dig too deep into it because their interface is reeeeally dumb and i could not figure anything out. i couldn't even figure out how to make a subdomain! my guy has even less clue about this and he did upload a place-holder picture there, which he says "i just replaced the one that was already there in their default template". noooo idea what's going on! i'll sit with him and dig into it in the coming days... pffft, and i WAS planning to launch before my birthday (19th), but i don't see a perspective now. so it'll be outside the Mercury shadow most likely. i just spent again a few days trying to see if i can open the shopping cart in a modal window. they conflicted with other scripts and a long story short, i finally had to give up on the idea. i think it's one step beyond me at the moment. my Virgo Saturn is NOT happy. My natal merc. is in Retro so these retro periods are actually beneficial for me. I feel like I can actually get my brain out of the gutter and see things for how they really are and the whole "tieing up loose ends" researching part is really beneficial for me too. The only thing that sucks is that this retro was square my natal merc. Taurus.. None the less very very good retro period, I'm changing my whole life around career wise IP: Logged |

That's fantastic to hear!! Congrats! Have you always noticed this good luck when Merc goes rx (3-4 times per year)? I wonder if the eclipses were also good to you; hard to tell the energies apart. Really great to hear though that someone is thriving in Merc rx.

i also have retro Mercury natally too, and it's hard to judge if i'm lucky or not.a few years ago during Merc.retro, me and my guy (also retro Mercury) had finished our band tour in Madrid and stayed at a friends for 1 week. it was cold and drizzly, and the friend's room where we stayed at literally fit only a 2-person sized mattress and a tight area to stand. we had to sleep piled up there for 1 week, and what was meant to be a nice little vacation turned into a nightmare with everyone grumpy and ready to kill. on the last night, we packed up and went to meet up with friends. on the way, we got robbed by gypsies in the metro, they got my coin purse and my guy's passport and bank card and everything important. the rest of the time was spent going to police and looking in garbage bins of every stations on the way, and in the meantime my suitcase was broken and i bought new wheels and fixed them on at the meeting place where it was a squat and a bike repair station. without doing anything with the friends, it was time for us to leave to catch the last train to the airport. my guy was flying back to his home country, and i had to fly to the other side of the globe. in 6 hours. then a friend said, "hey, let's grab one last beer, i'll pay". we quickly chugged down the beer and got into the train, and mid-way through they stopped running... so we got stranded and had to take the bus. we asked everyone which bus we had to take, and literally everyone told us different things. a bus came and we asked the driver if it was going to the airport, and he firmly said "no". for 3 hours, we stood at the miserably cold bus stop, chain-smoking to distract ourselves. not many bus would come and they all went to different directions. then the same bus finished the round came back and we just asked again the same question from a few hours ago, "is this going to the airport?" err, and the bus driver was like, "yes". ...so we took the bus, and at the final stop, we got dropped off in the middle of a residential area. it was early morning and we asked the garbage men where the airport was. they pointed to the general direction where there was nothing else than houses, so we started walking... then LUCKILY, a taxi passed and we hopped on! it took us through a highway and it took 15 minutes. would not have been walkable... immediately we went to the counter and asked if he could fly without his passport or any personal identifications. to our relief, he just had to sign some papers and it was ok to fly back to home country. by then we had 10 minutes to say good-bye before we had to catch our planes. i didn't see him for the next 8 months after that because i had to stay where i flew to. but we DID make it. a few months later, my guy found his passport and everything... in a backpack pocket. well, his defence was that it's a pocket he NEVER ever even opens, so the gypsies probably quickly took a look and saw nothing useful, so shoved them back into a different pocket. we were lucky, right? nothing was lost in the end (beside my coin purse). Thanks much I wouldn't say thriving but definitely a better use of my introspection! I feel like instead of being scared of the retro I kind if embraced it..My brain was in overdrive kind of and my thoughts were racing but it ws none the less productive! The Eclipses were fabulous.. Again got some very eye opening experiences and I did spells on the Lunar eclipse. Eclipses and Full Moons are amazing for spellwork/divination if you are interested in it! Annoying part was that my computers were super slow >_< lol

I think that's the right attitude to have. I use it for re-doing/re-viewing/revising stuff when amenable. Luckily I'm working in a field where writing is involved. I review old drafts during Merc rx. Ideal for this kind of thing. But meeting new people or starting something new not so much. IP: Logged |
