Joan, I would have to say that on a handful of occasions (like in two or three month stretches), I have been so motivated to lose weight that I went on (and adhered to) a low carb diet, and because I am so obsessive (Scorp sun), when I was on, I was on. I didn't overeat so much then, b/c how much meat or chicken can you stuff in? It's not like cheese puffs! But the low carb thing went down the toilet as soon as something really stressful came up, be it work related, or home related.

But otherwise, no. And I have had a very long stretch (my entire married life, since 2002) of being so stressed, or disillusioned, or just plain sad... that the overeating has been continuous.

I am hoping that when my divorce becomes final, I will find a way to change my habits. I am 170 lbs on a 5'3" frame at this point. My knees are feeling it and my mother is clucking at me about diabetes!

I have moon square saturn natally ...
my 2nd house is cancer
I'm one of those people who when I diet I just eat less. I (saturn) restrict, eating bearly anything, pretending I was the thin person herself & that was the amount I would have normally ate that day.

We discuss weight a lot on this forum

This is the only thread I've seen on it.

I heard that girls who didn't receive much maternal love - or at least feel they haven't - don't have success with diets.

So all I can say is Moon aspects/placement/rulership yada yada....

This sounds reasonable.

Emotional eater here!

Pisces sun and merc 12thH
Taurus Mars in 2H
4th and 5th HCusps in Cancer
Cancer Ruler (Moon) in Scorpio in 7th Conjunct Pluto (opposing my mars in taurus)
-Scorpio is 8thH Ruler
Jupiter Conjunct Sun and Rising Sign

I eat emotionally especially when it comes to problems with relationships and internalized sex drive. Here it is in a destructive way. Also, I fed others and eat as a 'joy of life' and I think that you must indulge yourself but in good measure :-)

Lol@ diets can eat

I'm not an emotional eater. Drinker, sometimes, but I control that--only as a very last resort if I have had the day from hell, and always in my own home, safe, not out on the street. Plus, I know how many calories are in a lot of my favorite drinks, so that is a motivator to not do it, as is my job (I want to do well at work, so I don't ever want to show up hung over).

I used to be heavier than I am now, and that's my motivator for not going back to it. Honestly, vanity is what keeps me from emotional eating (and I have a Cancer moon). The most that I will let myself have of sweets is one or two hard candies/small wrapped candies. Even then, I feel a lot of guilt about it.

I'm medium height; used to be 4-5 sizes larger than I am now and I've kept that off for years now. I have a Capricorn Mars.

I'm strict about what I eat. I'm not a "low carb" person or anything (I am strict about not eating certain kinds of carbs, but I do eat whole grains), but I do count calories and watch the fat, sugar, sodium, stuff like that. I don't eat meat (very, very rarely--like once every few years and only a small amount), fried foods (about as often as I eat meat), and I am careful about how much cheese I eat. I measure everything.

I do enjoy cooking, but I save it for special occasions and always plan ahead by eating less on the day before/day after. I do the same when I know that I am going out to eat; if I don't know and it's spontaneous, and I accept the invitation, I will go light the next day or two.

When I am upset, I have no appetite. When it's serious, I can go days without being hungry or eating. Less serious, I can skip a meal or two and not even notice. When I feel angry, going on my bike helps a lot, as do my hand weights and exercise ball.

Me, when I used to overeat, it was more mindless/boredom overeating than emotionally related.

As for Venus, I have it trine the moon and Jupiter. I have a Grand Trine in water. I have Venus conjunct Pluto in the 12th.

wow, great Marses think alike. I have Cap Mars too and and do exactly as you do, minus the drinking. (I'm way too vain to drink because I heard alcohol is bad for the skin and gives a gut by enlarging the liver).

^ that's a big advantage in aging gracefully and saves $$$ too. Isn't that very Cap Mars-esque? Economy & planning ahead & discipline. It's the saving grace in my otherwise wacked chart lol

I remember my Freshmen 15! Hey the dorm food and pizza was too starchy and good to pass up. No regrets there.

I have Neptune in Cappy by my midheaven. When I was younger people thought I looked older and now it's vice versa. Hey, they call Cap the 'Benjamin Button' sign.

I know a Leo guy that is occupied with maintaining perfect physique so that he doesn't need health care, esp. in old age. He has Mars (and Venus, Mercury, and Juno) in Virgo. And, yes, He looks good! lol

^ Such people give hope, especially in this youth-obsessed culture.

I'm on the slow track to the breatharianism that Linda Goodman prescribes in "Star Signs." I've been a vegetarian for over a year now which was easy but this year will be a bit of a challenge because I resolved to become a vegan.... and I looooove dairy and eggs. But Cap Mars says no pain no gain.

Groceries are getting so expensive though...it would be awesome for the budget if I could find sustenance from prana

Hehe I guess Virgo Mars gives Cap Mars a run for the money with the planning
