I actually feel the same way about my mothering skills (why I have no intention of ever having children) and I have the same Venus-Mars sign combination as Jon - Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Sagittarius.

Can this combination of signs produce a personality that abhors the thought of marriage and children? (I've noticed Jon has done neither despite being with his girlfriend for something like 15 years).

I most certainly will not. Childfree people call this "bingoing" when people try to illegitimize our feelings about not having children in this way. It's seen as disrespectful. I'm sure this is not your intention but it's just a little FYI

I have moon in Pisces in the eighth house.

I also have Saturn in the fifth house of children - ding ding ding! LOL.

Could be it. Then again, Jon Hamm is a Pisces sun, just like my moon. Maybe it's the Pisces (though I doubt it).

Aqua and Sag are signs that aren't exactly known for their love of domesticity, though, so it was the first thing that I thought to attribute it to.

Straight up, Aquaguy91, if I got pregnant I would have an abortion. No qualms about it. As a sort of precautionary measure, I've gone online and looked up how to induce miscarriage, what I termed "home remedies." I told my Virgo friend that, she was pretty offended at my choice of words.

What is your moon sign, Aquaguy?

Aquaguy has a Taurus Moon!

Oh that's a very interesting topic.

I think Regardes Platero here doesn't want to have children, either..

I know she has a Cancer Moon, and a bunch of Libra and Scorpio placements.

I don't know what would cause that astrologically speaking, but I think Saturn in the 5th may play a role in it!

Definitely, it makes the idea of childbearing seem waaaaay too heavy and unappealing.

I also noticed that both Oprah and Jennifer Aniston are Aquas with Sag moons and neither of them have children. So I think there may be something about the combination of these two signs that makes the idea of kids really seem like the proverbial ball and chain.

my ex is venus in aquarius. i couldn't even convince him to be in a monogamous relationship with me. marriage? ha! nice try.

my current sweetie is mars in capricorn. i think i'll have an easier time convincing him that marriage is a good thing. :-)

My mother has Venus in Aquarius and Mars in Capricorn and she always wanted to be a mother.
She is a very free spirited person but she told me that having a child never seemed like a burden to her.

i wasnt meaning disrespect, obviously children arent right for everyone, but just pointing out that peoples attitudes do tend to change on this as we get older, heck im 21 years old and i will be the first to say i dont want kids now, i want to have fun,get established in a career and travel ,and get down to babymaking maybe in my 30s haha, and yea my bro has saturn in the 5th he also said he dont want kids and if he does, much later in life.

Sagittarius & Aquarius are both associated with a love of freedom. And honesty, and an intellectual bent.

I won't have a child in the next 3 yrs though. Actually, I even know the person who I want to have kids with, if everything works out, fingers crossed. Late 20s, early 30s is a good time imo
What is your Venus/Mars combo? And also - what sign is his Venus?

actually, he's known he wants to get married and have kids for at least a few years (he's 24 years old) but trust me, he's in NO RUSH to get married and have kids. i'm almost 28 and feeling ready to settle down and get pregnant. sigh. there's def something to be said for dating older men.

we are both venus in aires and i'm mars in scorpio.

You don't need to feel sad about this. It is actually a good thing that some people don't want children. The planet is overpopulated as it is.

My fellow childfree-ers make me happy, not sad. I find their comments refreshing.

In this day and age it takes courage to follow that path, if it's in your heart. Usually it's best to keep quiet about it though, and just.....quietly not have babies. LOL

Otherwise you will have to get an earful from people .... which, you actually will anyway....
and they also tend to look down on us and feel free to voice their opinion to us. I avoid the whole topic usually.

anyway, thumbsup to you!

& I do love kids. Most people don't believe that when you say you don't want any.

I like other people's kids & they seem to LOVE me too.

Somehow I turn into a human jungle-gym, or "ride giver" to the little ones.

I can get crazy with them. Just don't want any of my own.

Any other childfree people feel the same?

I love the little devils, but don't want one of my own....
