What element or sign is most rational in your opinion?I think Air. Even though they can be bad at understanding people's psychology.
Ultimately water signs have the most understanding, but are very easily influenced by emotions. So I'm kind of undecided about whether we are are rational or not. Because does it count if you understand everything, yet you still cannot control your own emotions? IP: Logged |

AqauriusI'd say Virgo but there's a difference between rational and rationalizing. lol ------------------

Rational seems more like an Earth or Air sign thing. Emotions seem to impair rational thinking, like using your gut instead of your brain.Personally, I find with a scorpio mercury that my thinking is based on instinct instead of rational, like it's ruling air or earth signs gemini and virgo. I don't think a pisces would be rational either, since it's very dreamy but it's just a hunch. House placements seem important too, IP: Logged |

I think Air as well RunAroundScreaming. Mind over matter. In general though, when it comes to trying to interpret or understand concepts, I personally think Air Signs are the most capable of making the most objective explanations. There is much to be said about a grouping of individuals who don't allow their emotions to cloud their judgment. I'm a think first and respond, then feel later kind of individual. I work through my emotions, but I tend to keep them at bay. Oh and I think Aquarius is hands down the most rational sign. IP: Logged |

I am very, very rational. I was gonna write an article on "Thank God for Air". If I did not have this rational side, I would be long gone. I have Gem Sun, Venus and Mercury. I have a Libra ASC but I don't call Libra that rational as it is too indecisive and people pleasing imo lol------------------

Yeah, I definitely agree about the idealistic thing Sand. I actually prefer the whole ahead of their time thing though. Maybe because I feel like I fall into that category. It's very easy for me to be misunderstood and it's hard to relate to a world that's not that accepting of the eccentric odd ball types.

i wouldnt agree with aquarius, its irrational rational. aqua an be one of the most unpredictable signs because of the weird way it reacts to its feelings. I'd say from what ive seen gemini or capricorn hands down.

I'd say Virgo! 
Disciplined,clear thinkers. They set mini goals and achieve them. organised and smart, they don't act on feeling or impusle but what is already set out for them. Although earth ,Virgo corules mercury. --------------

Yes! "irrational rational" lol--great way to put it. Totally agree. Capricorn isn't rational at all, though, imo. They think the world is out to get them. Probably one of the most irrational signs to me. I agree with Ami Anne that libras are the least rational of the air signs. I'm going with Gemini, too They incorporate what they feel into their thinking, yet somehow don't let themselves get that influenced by their emotions since they analyze them. But they don't ignore their emotions like aquas do. I've had deep convos with a lot of Geminis and they analyze everything in a way that Aquas never could. The Libras and Aquas I've spoken to, especially Aquas, have been very confused people. That doesn't change the fact they still think they aren't, though, lol. Their quote is "I know" after all....Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings...but it's the truth. Virgo is a tough one, because they appear to be really rational but aren't really. They're super emotional, it's just they appear the opposite because they rarely let vulnerable emotions or passion show. I think rationalization is something that applies to Aqua a lot more than Virgo, though. I think virgos analyze and analyze but never come to a rational understanding for some reason. Analyzing too much gets to a point where they overanalyze and the reason they come up with is a lot more complicated than it really is. Water signs are really wise, imo. All water signs. But I do think Pisces are drama queens, and tend to overanalyze as well. Scorpio and Cancer, I think, have a lot of understanding, but just like cancer, can't control their emotions, so I wouldnt call that rational. IP: Logged |

Yeah, but the fact that they are workaholics doesn't make them rational, though :P
Just because they can soldier on and ignore whatever they feel.

You've basically summarized the lesson most aquariuses need to learn imo. Most feelings aren't irrational imo. You feel a certain way because of a certain truth, and I think feelings are a valuable piece of wisdom.
