I'm also a 12th house Sun and fond of the underdog. I married down in terms of finances/class/education, but up in terms of his being from the majority race. I married him because of love, but there was also something about him that told me he would be successful someday. If I thought he'd be a slacker/free loader, I would have ran far, far away.I don't consider myself unreasonable, as it is doubtful anyone wants to deal with a financial drain out of choice. I must admit, the first few years were really challenging due to gender/cultural programming. In my culture, patriarchy rules and it is expected for men to be powerful and provide well for their families. My family was not pleased at all, with my role as primary bread earner. His family was also uncomfortable with this role reversal, and urged him to finish college so he could find a better job. After awhile, the stress of being in what I grew up to see as a man's role did begin to eat at me. It didn't help that my husband has a mutable Moon, and would frequently change his mind on whether to finish school and keep working part time, or find full time work. Eventually, I tired of bringing home job announcements and told him that his failure/success was in his own hands, and I would no longer help if he wasn't willing to do his part. In between that and the birth of our first child, he matured at last and decided to take the future more seriously. He asked me once more to bring home job announcements, which resulted in applying to work in one of my contact organizations. I did help him polish up his resume and interviewing skills, but am happy to say that he has taken off all on his own. Today he is being molded for high management, having been promoted three times in the last couple of years. I am so glad that he has now matured and is blossoming very well in his field, well on his way to achieving the cardinal sun ideal of managing staff. In looking through our charts, his Moon is in the second house which I've read could mean obtaining financial success through females? The ruler of my 7th house is in the 12th, adding to my Sun within that house which brings me to want to help others better their situation. My second house is empty, w exception to Juno, not sure what that would mean. Anyways, I wanted to add to the conversation to show that sometimes relationships aren't as simple to classify as marrying up or down. I think often it is as Dreamer stated, you find someone with similarities in personality/world view and work things out. I think it would be harder to have a successful relationship if you marry for money, with drastically different world views in which you can not agree on key issues. IP: Logged |

I'm far too egotistical and patriachial to not be the accomplisher and breadwinner of the family. True, my birth family paid for most of my basic college degree, but I went out and got myself a job and earned three graduate degrees. Then I made my own money so that my marriage family can live well. Being a man, if I couldn't far exceed what my wife accomplishes, I would honestly jump off a cliff. And my wife herself has a masters degree and had an executive job. Anyway, I was brought up on the notion that you would be digging your own grave if you didn't marry for money. Even being a boy, my parents specifically went out and hunted down daughters of richer families for me to date. Eventually, I got kind of tired of rich girls and began steering clear of them. So, I had problems with women looking upwards for money, and then also women who were looking downwards because of reverse social class envy. IP: Logged |

any planets in the 12th house will have this effect. I have sun and mercury in the 12th. For the whole part of this year, I did a lot of humanitarian work for the underprivileged. At one point I even wanted to be a counselor (mercury in 12th) IP: Logged |

Planets (especially Venus/Moon/ruler of the 7th) in Capricorn: Planets in Capricorn indicate someone who seeks fame and social status. As such, individuals with planets in Capricorn may marry for money, rather than love. As the planet of love and relationships, Venus, when found in Capricorn, is indicative of someone who may base her choice of mate on financial considerations. Individuals with this placement tend to see love like a “business.” In other words, they look at relationships like “work,” and give and feel comfortable receiving love in practical ways. Venus in Capricorn natives are pessimistic and skeptical about love. Their fear of rejection and fear of vulnerability often comes in the way of them finding fulfilling relationships. In addition, Venus in Capricorn individuals are usually attracted to mature, successful “business” types, as security and stability, as well as social status, are important to them. You’ll often find Venus in Capricorn native in relationships with much older, or much younger partners. It is thus unsurprising that Venus Capricorn natives are more likely than other signs to marry for money. Anna Nicole Smith’s 7th house ruler, Mars, is in Capricorn. Heather Mills’s 7th house ruler, Mercury, is in Capricorn. She also has her Sun in Capricorn. Melania Trump has her Moon in Capricorn. Marla Maples’ Ascendant is in Capricorn. Ascendant, Sun and Mercury are in Capricorn. Planets (especially Venus/Moon/Ruler of the 7th) in the second house: The second house represents material possessions. Individuals planets in the 2nd house may associate love with money. As such, they may choose their mate based on financial considerations. The Moon in this house may indicate someone who associates emotional security with material possessions. Venus indicates someone who might associate love with material possessions. Heather Mills’ Sun and Mercury (ruler of her 7th house) are located in the 2nd house. Rachel Hunter has Venus and Moon in the 2nd house. Marla Maples’ Moon (the ruler of her 7th house) is in her 2nd house. Midheaven in Libra/Venus in the 10th house: These aspects indicate success and an increase in social status after marriage. Again, individuals with this aspect may marry (Libra/Venus) for social status (10th house). Heather Mills has Her Midheaven in Libra. Marla Maples’ Midheaven is in Libra. Gayle King has Venus in the 10th house. Rachel Hunter’s 7th house ruler, Saturn, is located in her 10th house. Planets (especially Venus/Moon/Ruler of the 7th) in Taurus: Individuals with natal planets in the sign of Taurus tend to be materialistic. As an Earth sign, Taureans seek security, and Taurus is the natural ruler of the 2nd house of material possessions. As such, Taureans tend to be concerned with financial security when choosing a mate. As a result, Taurus individuals may marry someone for their money. Vanessa Bryant’s Sun is in Taurus. Melania Trump has her Sun, Saturn, Mercury and Venus in Taurus. The ruler of Rachel Hunter’s 7th house, Saturn, is located in Taurus. Planets (especially Venus and Jupiter) in the 8th house: The 8th house represents “other people’s money.” Venus in this house can indicate “unearned money,” while Jupiter may indicate large inheritances or sizable financial gains through partners. Heather Mills has Jupiter in her 8th house. Jackie O’s chart has Venus in the 8th house. http://astrolady.wix.com/astrolady#!gold-digger-astrology/c782 IP: Logged |

I don't care for wealth. I have my own personal value system for what attracts me to a mate and money has nothing to do with it. Very Aquarian in that regard. I usually insist on going dutch.IP: Logged |

There's a man who keeps popping up in my life. He's mega-loaded. I rebuffed him, and part of the reason is that I don't want to look like a gold-digger! Right now, I'm not in a good financial place, and it would bother me a lot to have people thinking I would go out with him for the $. And I have n.Venus and n.Moon in the 2nd. His n.Moon lands in my 8th. He is on my mind a lot, but absolutely nothing to do with the $.IP: Logged |

perhaps I am delusional but I really take problem with the term "gold digger" I am with someone 26 years older and he is not wealthy more like "well off" but anyone from the outside might think I am a "gold digger". What does gold digger mean to you? I do not pay for anything but I am going to work once I finish school. Does this make me a gold digger? Some women are stay at home moms and do not work, this is not me. Also, I am not with this person solely because of money. Jupiter in 8th Moon in 10th house

Partner doesn't work yet but is much more wealthier than my family. As in helicopters to work wealthy lol! I am a venus in taurus. It was instrumental to my decision to wed especially because she has no brothers. I calculated I could run things eventually. I do very well myself for someone in my age bracket. Could be better but I suppose that time is coming. I'm a scorp asc. Venus in taurus is in my 7th. IP: Logged |

Possibly Moon/Venus aspect Anna Nicole had this exact conjunction but she also had Neptune in the 2nd house which is the aspect I suspect is more of a connection between the dreams of wealth and self worth.Asteroids Gold or midas in 4th/IC, 10th, South Node or possibly 11th house if the ruler of this house is afflicted. Depends how you go about it, and if you have the money you can get season plastic surgeons to work on you. If you're crazy and ask for ridiculous amounts of surgery at the same time then you'll look crazy too. A lot of people who aren't even ugly get surgery for the wrong reasons and mess up their entire look. Plastic surgery can really do wonders on people who actually have features that could be chiseled down My cousin got a nose job and she looks so stunning now, all her features are balanced and proportionate.

Libra placements. Possible heavy Venus activity in natal chart.hmmmn??? So a driven/determined/goal oriented zodiac sign putting themself through school without a penny of help from the old man, stopped to splurge on a luxury German automobile with its wallet depleting insurance and maintenance costs. This, while pursuing the destination of purchasing their first home - cash, in an upscale neighborhood, and furnishing it with a wife who won't need to work - all before age 30. Curiosity.
