Faith -

I don't see myself very clearly (Chiron in 6th) but I've always been told by females that I have classic beauty. I'm starting to think it might be a mix of idealism and projection that's causing the proposals, though. Like maybe they're projecting their image of the type of woman they want to marry onto me - or is that even possible? I hope that makes sense.

I have Aquarius ASC with Pluto squaring it, BML conjunct MC and Venus squaring my MC too. Neptune is also conjunct my chart ruler (and is also my co-ruler) so maybe that adds to the idealism. I have Sun, Venus and Mercury all in my 7th house. I also have Venus trine Neptune in addition to Uranus.

Aries23Degrees-

The Pluto part makes sense. I think all of the men who popped immediate proposals had strong Pluto aspects with me. One in particular had his Sun, Mercury and Venus square my Pluto and his Moon was opposite my Pluto too. The most recent had his Scorpio Sun, Mercury, Venus and Pluto conjunct my Pluto - all making sextiles to my Virgo stellium, too.

More and more I do hear that it is the PROGRESSIONS that make a commitment (be it marriage, or deciding to be partners for life, or moving in together for the longterm, whathaveyou) rather than transits.

Also, Solar Return charts seem to be scary on point with this kind of thing.

(I say all of this, btw, knowing that my progressions AND solar return chart for this year point to heavy commitment, and it does make sense emotionally right now, regardless of what takes place.)

I'm not sure what their zodiac was...

But I recall the glee in my Scorpio grandmother's house when family parlor-company started criticizing the younger generations who seemed to want to "hurry marriages" after only knowing their potential partner for 'a few years'.

Chuckle-chuckle. They would finish their discussion, so uptight, then my Scorpio dad would look at his mom with a glint in his eye, and he'd goad her saying, Hey Ma? How long was Memere and Pepere (his grandparents) engaged before they got married?

The tension in the room would break into riotous laughter after she'd respond,

"Two weeks!!...*jawdrop*-- And that marriage was happy and lasted for 50 years!!!
{{Until Death did them part. }}

Oh, and he got married again, and that second marriage lasted until he died at age 95. She was feisty and quite a bit younger than he was. (She was the same age as my grandmother!! *shocker-shocker*) He was funny, kind of charismatic, and seemed like a mostly laid-back kind of person.

I remember being at his 90th birthday party. Someone asked him, Hey Joe? What is the Secret of your longevity?

He would quip, I don't know, but if I knew I was going to live this long, I would have stopped drinking (Canadian whiskey), and stopped smoking all those cigars!

Of course then~, the room would just break-out in peels of laughter.

I had a great set of extendeds when I was little. They REALLY-ACTUALLY "enjoyed" each other's company. For Christmas, they used to rent a Hall with all the festive trimmings. One of the uncles would don a Santa Claus suit, and make an entrance with a huge sack of gifts for all the children.

All of that stopped, though, after the untimely early-death of my Taurus Grandfather who had been 'the strength and hub' of this extended-lot. Things just went downhill after he was gone, then the family broke completely apart...

But even with all of that--- I am SO DEEPLY Grateful for having been a part of that scene so very long ago.

Those memories are part of the Christmas I hold in my Heart. For all my life, The Universe was Kind to have done that for me.

My parents did this, he knew when he met her that she was the love of his life and that he wanted to marry her. They married 1 month after they met. I wouldn't say it was either happy or a fairytale of any sorts. Having them as an example freaked me out of marrying, even though I say I want to. I even followed in their footsteps and got engaged 4 days after meeting. But fortunately it didn't last. I now think getting married so quickly without properly knowing the person is NOT for me. I don't care how old I'm getting and how loud my clock is ringing.

I actually don't know what transits my parents were having, I'll have to check. They were together for 33 years, until my Mom's death 3 months ago.

My parents are similar. Can't say their marriage is a fairytale but it works for them. They met then got engaged, married and became pregnant with me within 9 months of knowing each other. They were both around 30 when they met and my Mom said she had a very short list of "must-haves" at that point and my Dad had them all. That was 30 years ago! They're both Aries Suns.

I personally feel if it's the right person and you both feel it then you can get married right away. But I also feel like if you aren't in a hurry to have children, why get the government involved? ESPECIALLY if there's a chance you'll divorce and woop there goes 40 grand.
I also feel like getting married is kind of stupid. Unless your having children why do you need to label your relationship? Do you believe it will make your relationship better? Some people are about labels and so is society if that's what your about then go for it.

It's better to know the person for at least a year before you settle down with them officially because people are complex sometimes and you need to know all faucets of their character. You might learn something about them which makes it hard for you to spend the rest of your lives together... You never know!!

Love is not giving up on each other and if you both vow to do it then it's worth marrying

I just realized transiting Uranus is opposing my natal Venus, about 8 minutes wide--applying. Maybe I'll meet "the one"--again!
