Topic: what is the first thing you look for when reading synastry charts

Saturn to sun, moon, Venus or Mars. If none, even if there are lots of "nice" or steamy synastry aspects, I know 3 years down the line they'll be broken up.Hopefully still friends, though. IP: Logged |

First I like to look at the Moon and Venus in both charts to see if there compatible. After all the Moon is how we are emotionally and Venus is how we love. Then I look for any planet interchanges, even if there isnt a conjunction going on it still can mean understanding between both people. Then I seek out loving/affectionate aspects, if they have any Moon/Venus, Moon/Moon, Jupiter/Moon, Sun/Venus, Venus/Jupiter. I use to pay attention to passionate aspects in synastry, but not anymore, I find usually you need more understanding along with loving placements in synastry for a relationship to last. And then I count how much Saturn is going on, need to make sure there is an equal balance of Saturn coming from both ends for it to be mutual. I find that if only one person has the Saturn going on with the other person not having any then the person with all the Saturn will be the only one investing in the relationship. Last off I look and check if there is any hinderance type placements/aspects between the two, such as Mars/Mercury, Neptune square Mercury, Mars square Neptune, and Mars square Saturn or Saturn in 3rd house.IP: Logged |

It would help if I had a link to each chart with aspects listed. I need to see individual aspects each of them make in the natals to be able to compare. It's harder to tell with just the synsastry chart unless you are looking at signs, houses and aspects alone.IP: Logged |

Okay this will take a little time because I need to go back and forth between charts so I will post this and edit so you won't wonder where I went. I will keep editing and adding more (this takes a little time because I am new at this.) Sun is trine Uranus in one chart, opposite Uranus in the other. The easy aspect would help mitigate the tense one in the other chart indicating an attraction between two people. Same goes for these: One chart has an eighth house moon, the other has moon in Scorpio. One has the moon in Taurus, the other has moon opposite Venus (ruler of Taurus.)
This indicates the moons have the same sort of needs, see eye to eye. Moon is sextile Venus in one chart, moon is opposite Mars in the other. Helps mitigate. Moon sextiles Jupiter in one chart, squares Saturn in the other. Venus and Mars square Saturn in one chart, Venus trines Jupiter and Mars sextiles Jupiter in the other. Mercury is opposite Neptune in one chart, it is trine Uranus in the other. Mercury is square Pluto in one chart, trine Pluto in the other. This is what I found so far... IP: Logged |

I don't have a first thing I look at, but Mars Sun contacts (especially the conjunction) are always nice. The other's planets falling in your 7th house is pleasant Opposite rising signs is great. For example, my ex was Cancer rising and I'm Cap rising. Great pairing and it lasted quite awhile. Sun on Moon is great either way IMO. There are so many great placements...kind of have to take the charts in a whole and read them that way. Enjoy what you have while it lasts. !! IP: Logged |
