Everyone here and everyone that ever posts pictures publicly on the internet is under the same exact threat of their photo/s being stolen. This is an optional thread and anyone in here that has posted their pictures could have already had people screenshot them and have them saved in some folder on their computer with the person's username, cross referencing the picture with facebook, other forums, etc. Like Geeky said, it's the internet and I'll add to that "trust no one". Take your pic down Becky, you definitely have the potential to be the next addition in the "Beautiful Women of Color".IP: Logged |

^^ Some sub-forums are not visible to people who are not members of LL, may be these types of threads should be created in those sub-forums rather than public sub-forums but the main problem is that the person who did that is a regular member of LL.I don't know what happened in Lipstick Alley but I think you don't need to worry much about FB page, it has just 5 likes in which I guess one is from Ami so not a lot of people should've been able to see your pic. Why should I be the one who is constantly scared of this while others get to do it? Thats so f*cked up. That 15 year old brat better not post here again or she'll see.
My picture was stolen by a grown man here, you aren't the only one.

It's almost besides the point. A site with the amount of traffic this one gets is no doubt constantly being crawled and indexed by search engine spiders. Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. Not to mention privately run content scrapers. Even if Randall has taken steps to prevent it, it's pretty much impossible to stop altogether. Once you hit that submit button, it's out there somewhere. Permanently. Depending on where in the world you live, you may be protected by personal copyright laws even without placing an explicit notice on your content. But even that's not a guarantee since there are plenty of regions where these laws are completely ignored. I'm not saying I like it. Any of it. But considering current precedence and new technologies such as Google Glass (which allows users to record real world data as it happens) a lack of public privacy may just be one of those unpleasant things we all learn to live with. Either that or we all stay inside around the clock with the curtains drawn. It's kind of eye-for-an-eye, but the best recourse you probably have in a situation like this is to fight fire with fire. And to remove as much incentive as possible. Basically, if someone wants to use your likeness to boost their own fragile ego, call them out on it. As publicly and embarrassingly as possible. Really, what could be worse to someone with that kind of mindset? And yeah, keep really important stuff secure. Use a service like LastPass to generate and store secure passwords and logins. Use unique credentials for anything you think is even remotely high-risk and don't share anything you want to keep private. Call me jaded. Call me paranoid. But that's my two cents. -------------------------------- P.S. My pics are posted here too. Right now I assume somewhere there's a nasty old fat dude using them on Craigslist so he can trade pictures with some other nasty old fat dude pretending to be someone else. I just hope that if they decide to photoshop my head on someone else's body, that they pick someone with nice abs and a ridiculously large @#$%. IP: Logged |

Haha. Agreed. The original was perfect. I would've quipped back right away if it hadn't made such a perfect punchline IP: Logged |

@BrontexThat turned sour fast! It was a joke, not meant as something rude. Ah text, you most fickle thing. Reminds me of a comedian doing a bit on our need for tonal font families. "How do you know he didn't mean what he texted?" "Because he used Sarcastica!" @Hera Yeah, I'm having a bit of a crash test with them myself! IP: Logged |

Haha. Relax It was taken as a joke. Mostly. I just couldn't find the right smiley to punctuate my response with. IP: Logged |

We're down to smileys helping us understand one another. *sigh* What has this world come to? Haha I do think that assigning certain fonts to certain tones would help a lot, seriously! IP: Logged |

Too bad they're so pretty though. It almost compensates everything else that's wrong with them. Well, almost. IP: Logged |

He is very pretty, I agree. I have a thing for a guy with something "wrong" with his face though. Call me crazy but a little darkness on the outside excites me! Either that or they have some brooding "I'm probably too effed up inside for anyone to deal with me, just walk away while you have the chance." thing about them. I'm crazy, right? IP: Logged |
