No, I wasn't snappy. I believe I was clear when I said you didn't have to be Christian (or Muslim, etc) for it to have an affect. It's just how people passively absorb an idea (just like with the Greek pagan gods without actually believing in them) that they then radiate out (without being conscious of it) and when associated with certainly heavenly objects they then radiate back at us.

Satan, Lucifer, Jehovah, Zeus...they're not really people, they're ideas, and ideas change ('course then so do people! ). Note, I didn't say they aren't real, just that they aren't people. I see them as more masks but what exactly they represent changes over time, so they come to represent different forces, that is talking about the classical Lucifer is talking about someone else than the Lucifer sang about by Iron Maiden today. Put another way "Lucifer" thousands of years ago was a completely different person with "Lucifer" today as the name got taken from the old Lucifer and given to another force now going by Lucifer, but they didn't choose to do this themselves (they don't really care at all), nor did the person itself change but rather than name turns one's attention to different energies. Perhaps the best way to put it they're like stations but what frequency they work on in one age is a different frequency in another.

(ETA: This is just generally speaking with humanity who make up this ocean of psychic energy, but individual "drops within the ocean" can certainly invoke a different aspect in say occult rituals by having a different understanding, but as for astrological energy, which I see as originating from the collective unconsciousness rather than the heavenly bodies themselves, the "majority view" is going to drown out the minority views.)

I have Descendant 1 degree away from Algol, Orcus conjunct Sun (1.5degree), Lucifer opposite Sun and Orcus...Pollux opposite Moon, Castor conjunct Jupiter... I am definitely not evil. Not even close!

This is seemingly an age old question and is only aimed at one thing: being able to pre-judge people. It is rooted in fear.

Over 20 years ago, astrodatabank had space for comments on celebrity charts in its database. Every kind of astrologer from everywhere left comments on the birth chart of Adolf Hitler to say how they could see the evil in his chart. There was every kind of factor mentioned and every imaginable twist of reasoning as if to convince each other astrology got it right, in hindsight of course.

All evil is done by human beings while in the flesh. There are no innately 'evil' souls, as if they were that way from the beginning. To assert otherwise is projection — of one's own shadow onto others. People often like doing this because it is an easy way into feeling 'good' and personally justified in one's morality without any responsibility or personal reflection.

It isn't a soul-oriented use of astrology at all, but one rooted in fear. Fear that one of these 'evil souls' will sneak into one's love life. Fear that one of them might take over a country again, or worse, take over the world. Fear of succumbing to the dark side that is even promoted in popular movies. It is all fear-based, which is what creates the black-and-white thinking that deepens duality into a persistent spiritualized neurosis.
