I'll come back and answer the other questions but I'll get the ball rolling by just saying as far as Q.4's concerned, every time I'm fascinated by the thing's someone says or feel really refreshed and inspired in conversation with them and don't know what to expect it always turns out that their Mercury is in Aquarius. I'd go so far and say if everyone's Mercury was in Aquarius the world would be a better place (I know that would mean we could all only ever be one of three sun signs in that case however so.. perhaps not). The people I enjoy communicating with most often seem to have their Mercurys in Aries, Scorpio and Sagittarius (beside my partner who has her's in Virgo)

2) I generally dislike talking on the phone. Texting is ok. I'm selective about who I get back to. For example some people talk forever and ask annoying questions. Or they talk really loud, etc etc. There can be a variety of reasons. So yeah, selective. Some I get right back to and a few I may not ever. I may choose to just do it later despite not having anything else going on. It can be them, or my mood, or the topic that I know they are calling to discuss.

3) I know some "bad" slang words in a couple of other languages. Well, some good also I suppose. I would love to learn but I'm far too impatient.
I would speak my own language and don't mind if others speak another language around me.

4) I find Gemini moon (which is what I am) to be easy to talk to. Pisces mercury also. Very intuitive conversations. Otherwise, I've not paid enough attention to know.

Yes to the above. I'm curious: what's the purpose of the second question, though, to show what?
I would do that, but not for long, I would probably try to involve everyone in the conversation. What you describe is not polite, in my view, if it takes too long.

I get along with all Mercuries, perhaps due to the many aspects to my Mercury? I don't like casual talk though, so I get along with "deeper" Mercuries, especially with other Plutonians/ a bit of Saturn (not necessarily Mercury/Pluto), but Plutonian minds/approach.
I get along exquisitely with air and fire Mercuries, if they have similar influences: Pluto Saturn Moon Mars

I can be the last one talking, while everyone succumbed with exhaustion, when I am passionate about something I guess my passions are also connected to the aspects described and everything 8th house

If I don't really 'feel' in the mood to talk to someone, I might wait a while to respond. If I'm occupied with something- like if I'm reading or in the middle of a video, then I might check on it and wait to reply. I'm pretty good at replying within a close timespan.

When I ask someone for info and am interested in their response, I tend to stare at the computer/phone screen until they respond, lol.

Yeah, I speak a couple of other languages besides English (Korean & Spanish).
Depends on the environment, but I would most likely feel sort of uncomfortable. It would attract a bit of attention which I am not too keen on having.

I usually get along very well with Mercury in Pisces. They tend to speak very poetically/ in-between the lines which my Scorpio Mercury is naturally attuned to. Disregarding mercury sign, people who are more 'intuitive' rather than linear-thinking are ones I am better at having a conversation with.

Non aspected

I really dislike talking on the phone, I try to avoid it as much as I can.
returning texts is sometimes annoying but I always reply I dont like not replying to someone unless they really annoy me.

I speak 5 languages and I want to learn a new one this year. I really like foreign languages and speaking them.

I haven't notied any problems with a specific mercury sign.

- I am 50-50 returning calls and txt
if i'm not at all insterested in speaking to someone I'll avoid do it or I'll complete forget - i hate txting the time it takes to do so I could've called and spoken to the person. I don't rant in emails or when i do text.

- English is my native language. When I was little and the family lived in Germany I spoke it fluently at 3 yo (army based there) I would like to speak other languages as well as sign language. There are other ways of speaking

I'm pretty lackadaisical about returning messages. I will often read them as soon as I get them only to forget/be too lazy to reply immediately. I often just wait until the next time I see the person to discuss the issue unless it's really pressing - even then, I usually wait a bit and think over a reply.

I often get prompted for faster replies. I ignore such prompting, as I find it equally irritating as they find my slow responses

Aside from English, I speak French fluently. I know enough Spanish and Italian to carry on a casual conversation, and enough German to ask for basic things and read signs. I don't usually bother to learn much of the local language when I travel. Often enough, I'm visiting a country in which I speak the language at least well enough to get by, and when I'm not, everyone usually speaks English well enough for me to not have to bother with anything more than "please", "thank you", and "do you speak English/French".

I usually try to avoid speaking French in front of people that can't also speak it. Unless it's absolutely necessary to do so, it makes me feel like a show-off (probably because it isn't common to speak a foreign language in my country unless you/your parents are foreign). I strangely don't feel the same way about English, though, even when I'm abroad.

Perhaps not surprisingly, I find Virgo and Capricorn the easiest to communicate with - particularly Virgo.

I feel similarly to people with air Moons - Gemini, especially.

I can talk about art, economics/business, literature, and philosophy pretty non-stop.

Only english, but other languages interests me a lot. I'm just really bad at remembering any phrases, but I do think I make an effort trying to remember words and sentences every time I'm in a new country.
- to the other question - I think I would do that if I felt a pressure from the person. I think I would get totally confused about what language I should use, and I would be very stressed out about such a situation probably. I always hate it myself when people talk another language in front of me (if they both talk the same language as I do also)

2) I typically return my phone calls and text messages instantly. I'm always reachable; I don't ever not respond back to people, unless I really don't want to for whatever reason. I'm not a huge fan of talking on the phone because I get nervous easily. But obviously if someone calls me to talk for a few minutes I have no problem.

I'm also not really into casual, small talk; it bores me and it often feels superficial. But I am not one to show any rudeness or pretend I don't care what someone is saying. I always try to give people my full attention.

3) I only speak/know English. I've always dreamed of being able to travel so I would not mind having to learn a new language. The language I've always been most curious/interested in is French. I know a few words here and there, but not enough to be fluent.

4) I haven't really ever taken good notice, but I would assume that other Fire Mercuries are probably easy for me to communicate with. My SO has Mercury in Aries, and we are usually always able to talk very freely around each other and have little to no problems communicating. Also probably Air Mercuries, especially Gemini.

Aside from Mercury placements, I usually find I can communicate/get along well with Pisces Moons or people that have Pisces placements. I attract a lot of Piscean energy. This is probably because my second most dominant planet is Neptune and I have a lot of Neptunian energy in my chart, just not any personal planets in Pisces except MC.

I have a big issue with this. I return phone calls immediately, but any written form of communication (especially Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp etc.) is so overwhelming and exhausting. I love writing and I love technology, so it has nothing do with having issues with either - but it's just too demanding, and I usually take days (or hours at best) to get myself to reply to a written message. I thought it was a phase, but I've been like this for more than 5 years now.
I have had people complain about this. But I never do it on purpose (i.e. wanting to reply with a delay) - I just need to muster the energy and mood to reply. I don't feel technology should be used this way, and it drains me.

I speak 2 languages fluently (not counting my native language), and 2 others at an average level.
It does interest me to learn new languages when I travel, and even when I don't travel. I think learning a language is the second best way to get to know another culture (the first one being living in the country for a while). I've always assumed this is my Pluto and Mars being in the 9H.
About your last question - I've done it and I've felt uncomfortable. I get extremely uncomfortable when people get excluded from a group conversation, and I absolutely avoid talking in a language others can't understand, especially if it's my native language (not English). I would do it freely if the other person needs translation, but otherwise I would either continue to talk in a language everyone understands or tell the person we should talk in private.

Normally, I would reply right away, but if it's someone I find annoying, it's either I ignore it or pretend I was really busy and reply really late.

With calls, I don't usually like to call. I feel awkward in phone conversations unless it's with someone I'm really close to or it's an important call.

I speak three languages--two are native to my birth country and then English. I'm thinking of learning other ones, too.

To the last question, I would say yes. I don't care if people stare at me thinking "wtf she saying" lol. If I find it's an easier way to communicate to the person I'm talking to, then definitely a yes. Sometimes, I switch from English to my native language when making fun of someone I don't like.

I find it extremely easy to communicate with other Earth mercuries--especially Sag suns with Cap mercuries😍. Ahh, they're lovely. It's that natural flow of energy that makes it easy. I like Gemini, Libra, and Sag mercuries. They're very interesting to talk to. Aries mercuries, I can stand.

I don't ever recall having interesting conversations with water mercuries. Maybe because I don't meet too many of them. I find that Scorpio mercuries don't like talking, which kinda sucks because they're very "deep" about everything. Plus, they usually think I'm shallow because they see me more as a Gemini at first sight. I'm not a fan of striking conversations with Leo and Aqua mercuries. They have really fixed ideas about mostly everything.

I'll come back and answer the other questions but I'll get the ball rolling by just saying as far as Q.4's concerned, every time I'm fascinated by the thing's someone says or feel really refreshed and inspired in conversation with them and don't know what to expect it always turns out that their Mercury is in Aquarius. I'd go so far and say if everyone's Mercury was in Aquarius the world would be a better place (I know that would mean we could all only ever be one of three sun signs in that case however so.. perhaps not). The people I enjoy communicating with most often seem to have their Mercurys in Aries, Scorpio and Sagittarius (beside my partner who has her's in Virgo)

1) What sign/house is your Mercury in and what aspects does it make to any other planets if any? (Please note if it's retrograde too)

Scorpio Mercury in the 6th house, about 5 degrees from 7th cusp. Not retrograde.

Mercury conjunction Scorpio Pluto orb +2°51'
Mercury sextile Capricorn Neptune orb -1°45'
Scorpio Sun conjunction Mercury orb +10°44

2) Do you return phonecalls/emails/texts/messages instantly, do you ever purposefully wait a short while before responding then eventually do or do you have people complain about having sometimes not heard back from you? Feel free to go into as much detail as you want about this

I will screen your phone call. If I don't know your number and you don't leave a voicemail I don't return the call.

I would say I have a good response time. Better than most people. People complain about not seeing me but that's because I can be a hermit and prefer to study than be people despite being sociable and having a good social life. My friends understand this and forgive it. Jupiter in the 1st house is what I attribute this to; not my Mercury. But even if I haven't seen you in person in months I'll respond to your text quickly, call less quickly but still in a decent time.

3) Can you speak any other languages? (assuming everyone here speaks english)If you can't - when/if you travel does it interest you to learn a few phrases in advance? If you can - would you communicate in one language with someone else around a group of people who don't understand the language in a small space or would you feel uncomfortable?

Languages are my strongest suit. I attribute this to the Mercury in Scorpio memory. When I choose to learn a language I learn it quickly because once I learn the word it is there to stay. I speak Spanish and Italian fluently. I'm learning Arabic rapidly and expect to be fluent in 1-2 years.
I have a working vocabulary of Portuguese, French, and German but no plans to make these languages high intermediate or fluent. My Mercury is in the 6th house meaning my learning incentive is usually brought on by my work. I also have a respectable knowledge of nutrition due to this house placement.

I treat English as my default and use other languages as necessities. If I know you speak English and Spanish equally well I will respond in English, often even if you're talking to me in Spanish. Out of my three fluent languages English is my best and thus my default.

If my boss came up to me and told me I would be sent to Germany in 4 weeks for a business trip I would study German for 3-4 hours a day and head over with a workable knowledge. I wouldn't be able to have a full conversation obviously but signs, menus, directions, and day to day things would be within my grasp.

I play the game Duolingo to keep my weaker languages at their current levels. Just 5-10 mins a day per language if I have the time. Arabic is the only weak language where I devote formal learning to, 30 mins a day on weekdays, hours on the weekend.

For my fluent languages I just read websites or listen to music instead of active lessons.

4) Which Mercury Sign placements (or aspects to any of your planets) do you find conversation the most easy with, free-flowing or liberating with?

I can't distill to Mercury signs because I've never paid attention to them as much. I'll speak to general energies to give you something. I find Gemini energy to be quick witted but superficial usually making it very hard to find similar topics. Virgo energy people love me and I them because I connect the big picture dots for them and they catch on very quickly. They're intelligent but often just don't seem to connect the patterns themselves. Libra energy gets along well with my energy but often I get in the teacher role here too because they just aren't studious and often it is a one sided conversation. Especially the Mercury in Libra people. Aquarians and Sagittarian minded people I have an appreciation for because of their tendency toward iconoclasm. Aquarian energy also has that extra bonus of being less judgemental than most.

5) What types of things can you talk about non-stop? What subjects/things get you going? Wherever it's something you can talk about endlessly or listen to subjects on endlessly.

I detest small talk.... Hate it, can't stand it... I don't mind talking but please have a purpose for talking to me when you call/text me... Don't just call me and be like "sup"...

I don't like talking on the phone too much, I do sometimes, because I can do other things simultaneously without being rude, for example cook, clean, etc. Otherwise I avoid talking on the phone, I used to be very nervous before calling strangers, arranging meetings etc. So annoying I am very confident when meeting and conversing with strangers in person, but on the phone I just turn into this anxious little bird. I have no idea why. Maybe the lack of seeing peoples mimic play a huge role for me. I don't usually return calls, I prefer to txt back. I don't answer to unknown numbers and for now (knock on wood) it hasn't been an issue. If there was something important, they'd also text me. Normally they're just those bloody surveys. I don't either answer instantly on other means of communication.

I speak 3 foreign languages fluently, and am a beginner in 3 others. Have some others on my wish list. I always try to speak as much as possible in the language of the country I travel to, be it only few words, the natives really appreciate that Hm, about conversing in group.. I don't know, depends on the context... Really really depends. There's no final answer for me.

I usually enjoy having conversations with Sag, Cap, Scorpio and fellow Virgo Mercury (in that particular order ) I have yet to know Aries and Aqua Mercury that I'd get along with, especially Aries is the one I can't stand. I'd state the reasons, but I don't want to insult nobody It's strange, since in theory I'd like their ways (?), having Mercury squared by Mars.
