Such an Aquarian. Even surprised us with his death.

Everyone should watch The Labyrith or another David Bowie movie in celebration of his life. It will be like a mini funeral/goodbye

Both Capricorns (and around the same age, both having had health issues).

But I am wondering if Pluto was touching anything in their natal charts?

Not trying to say we can predict death or health issues exclusively with Pluto transits, but I am curious. I guess I'll look.

Pluto played a part, but for Bowie, mostly also Uranus in Aries going direct and in square to Capp. After all, Uranus was part ruler of his chart.

As for Lemmy, Uranus square to his chart ruler Saturn.

How would you describe Sun combust Mars, in general?

Violets that is odd.

I got to see David Bowie live in the 80's. He's now in Rock and Roll Heaven.

The concept of combustion is relatively new to me. I used to think the sun conjuncts a planet (other than Saturn and Uranus) was great until recently. So I have yet to studied it enough through numerous charts to have developped an opinion about it. I only know what I've been told.

I have always felt a very strong connection to Bowie, our placements are very similar and have many conjunctions in our synastry. When I heard the news today I cried and felt very depressed, I've always admired the way he was never afraid to express himself. I can't help but also feel sympathy for Iman his widow and his child he's leaving behind. RIP David Bowie, you'll forever be one of my rolemodels.

Its the aqua-leo axis, i think everybody with something in those signs is probably wanting to puke up their soul right now at times. The whole thing is bothering me too, i cant even lie. My ascendant is Aquarius and my sun mercury and descendant are in leo. So are my north and south node, on that same axis.

David has a son too from his first marriage his name is Duncan.

Talk about Capricorn energy.

Bowie's a Capricorn Sun who created an album all while quietly suffering from cancer. He worked on this album while on his death bed. To pass away so close to his birthday/album release is quite a way to leave a legacy. If that's not a way to (inadvertently) generate buzz for an artist, I don't know what is. The Aquarius in me weeps for this kindred spirit's departure, but my Cap stellium applauds the mastery and will power.

Mortality, legacy, hard work, impressive feats, and illness all wrapped into one scenario.

Well played, Capricorn season. Well played.

I saw an astrologer on YouTube attribute his determination to keep going to his mars and the aspects to it moreso than the particular sign his sun and mars were in.

I know a Capricorn that tends to give up before he starts sometimes, if he thinks something is going to be an uphill climb so i think i agree with the YouTube astrologer, that the sign probably isn't what was responsible for Davids determination.. Sun conjunct mars will make you a fighter by nature. The ruler of his sun and mars was in leo, conjunct his leo moon and descendant. A man who worked with him on a play said he fought to the end "like a lion".

I miss him horribly. Didn't he and Lemmy both have a the similar Sun-Mars 12H Cappy conjunction?
I just finished "Lazarus". Artist until the end.

I don't like to talk about death but what I DO want to talk about is why Capricorns seem so apt at music? I know the majority of MY preferred singers are all Cappies. Are they better at digging up their soul deep emotions than others? Do they transform their own darkness (yes we are) into beautiful music better than others?

i remember when he first started his career 6 + decades ago... he didn't make any $$$. he wasn't all about that, at least back then. he was more about the art of creating.

that cannot be his Cap sun right? wondering what it is ?

I don't know, but I think it's cool how he has two different color eyes. I WANT!! 😍
Did someone say he has ascendant in Aquarius? Because if that is so, it totally makes sense

Anyone who really makes a difference and has excellence wants the product more than the money.

Capricorn's are naturally deep creatures with deep emotions. I think many people don't really understand cap dominant people. If caps are musically inclined they can channel their pain, or feelings into an amazing song or musical work.

True but his child with Iman is only 16. I relate to her, my own dad has been sick since I was a child, but she must now deal with the grieving process so young. Her emotions aren't even fully processed yet and now she must deal with the deal of her father ):

Agree.

It seems very congruent with what Sun in Capricorn conjunct Mars in the 12th house would do.

This is another good point. Leo is a sign known for creativity but people keep trying to attribute everything in David's life and career to Capricorn despite the fact that his moon is in Leo and even Saturn (the ruler of his sun) is in Leo, too.

David said himself that he didn't like performing, didn't feel as hough he was a natural performer (probably the twelfth house sun) but he would go on stage and pretend to play a character and thats how he managed to cope with it. The flair for drama and theatrics is also a Leo thing.

Am I saying Capricorn had nothing to do with things? No. I believe he was able to come back from the precipice before it was too late because of his Capricorn/Saturn energy. He managed to drop the drugs and everything because of that, i think. And by all accounts he was a super responsible guy - when he and his first wife broke up, he took his son and essentially raised him all on his own. He also had a really strong work ethic, that is clearly Cappie energy.

It was a combination of the Leo and Cappie that benefited him in the end for different reasons. And everybody loved him so much because he had Venus on his midheaven, the mid heaven is career or dealing with the public. He had Pluto in the 7th house of the other, or other people, as well, as thats why you see this kinda weird territorial, possessive desire by everybody to claim him as their "own" lol.

...Even in astrological circles. Im sitting here right now like " He only had two planets in Cappy and they were buried in the twelfth house - are you really going to pretend you don't see all those fire sign planets clustered around the angles in his chart?"
