There are some words, or ways of wording things, that make me want to smack people.

I can only assume this is my Virgo Moon talking.

Virgo influenced people, do you have certain words or phrases that are like fingernails on blackboards?

If you do, what are they?

Lol. There's the irony for me, I think.

I cuss like a sailor, but I swear to God if someone describes food as being "scrumptious", or if a grown adult refers to their stomach as their "tummy", my hand starts twitching.

Also, it has taken me like ten years to finally use "Lol". And then I just gave up, because it's sort of handy.

My Virgo stellium husband would be irate if I said tummy near him.

He loathes many words...veggies, "sides" (as in "Would you like any sides with that?"), whatever, and many others.

Also he is particular about pronunciation. To his credit his is amazing about detecting accents, and can spot our peculiar local accent even when we are far from home (I know this because he's done it in front of me before.)

His Virgo Mercury conjunct Pluto.

My Virgo friend does not use LOL, and I'm starting to wonder if I annoy her when I say it....

Virgo mercury, Venus, mars here.
Generally, no.
There's a few words that I don't care for but certainly can tolerate.

Ahahahaha! I am the same way. I just...can't...let it slide...when people mispronounce words. I'm likewise mortified if I mispronounce something (or misspell a word), so I try to be careful about that.

I can also pick up on accents fairly accurately, despite not having traveled outside the US, except for Canada and Mexico.

(I would like to, but my family never wanted to travel outside the US much, and my husband is afraid of flying. Chiron in H9.

Really?!

I wonder if it depends on house placement? Although mine is in H2, not like it's in H3 or anything.

Nothing that makes me cringe anyway.
Not like you. LOL
I was going to tease you this morning but thought that I better not.

I was thinking my mercury conjunct mars....?

Not sure.

The Mrs hates the exact same word. Hahaha
And a few others.

Ahahaha!
It's fine if you do it, lol. I know you're joking.
Funny that she hates the same thing, though! I think it might be almost universal.

Funny thing, I started using this so that it would annoy me less when other people use it.

"Let's see what all the fuss is about..."

Off the top of my head - it bugs me when people say "and yet.." YET is also a bloody conjunction. You don't need two consecutive conjunctions. Stop wasting conjunctions. There are starving kids in Africa.

I guess in all honesty, I have to say that I say "my tummy" when I'm talking to my son. I was mildly horrified and simultaneously entertained by all the words I started using after I had him, that I swore I would never use.

I do, however, recall being really young (like kindergarten maybe), telling my friend that "it's your *stomach*, not your tummy".

*wheezing*
Priceless.

I have to confess that I'm guilty of that one.

I don't have any Virgo placements, but I hate when people use slang/shortened words (I don't know what to call it..).

For example, "whatevs" instead of "whatever". "Delish" instead of "delicious". "Preggers" instead of "pregnant".

That sh*t ****** me off.

Bwahahaha! And I'm guilty of saying 'tummy', complete with BabyTalkVoice. Although I am being ironic when I use it, I admit I do like the word.

It's a living, breathing organism, my *stomach* (but you know what I really want to say ).

My best friend, Virgo stellium, Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus hates certain words and phrases. She absolutely hates when people refer to things as "goals" and when women are too valley girl and rude. My SO, Virgo Sun, Mercury and Jupiter hates when people day "Yasss" and hates valley girl accents too.

I'll be out the door as soon as you start SPEAKING in text speak, let alone write it excessively. Some meme words get on my nerves too, like bae & fam.

I can tolerate a lot of abbreviation, typos and pop cultural stuff, but if you're deliberately lazy with your speech or writing, that irritates me to no end. I don't mind it if English is not your mother tongue.
