When people use "impactful" in business writing.

No. Stop now.

You meant to write, "influential" or "significant."

"Impacted" or "impactful" reminds me of a bowel obstruction or wisdom teeth that need to be removed.

I have Virgo Sun & Saturn with Mercury very close at 29,32 Leo.

^ Wheezing again.

EDIT
I also want to make sure that no one gets offended by our pet peeves! They're just gripes, everyone has them.

With Virgo influenced people, I've noticed that our pet peeves often involve words, punctuation, or putting things in the wrong place.

But still, we will love you even if you do these things.

I'm a Virgo Sun and Mercury. I don't think I have pet word peeves. But I'm often a lively speaker and I can't stand it when people don't express themselves rightaway, as in saying everything twice or three times with different words or paraphrasing themselves when everybody else has understood. That slows conversation down importantly and so it can get quite frustrating.

Oh I also like pronouncing things correctly, and being as grammatically correct as I can. I don't like hearing things mispronounced or seeing bad orthography. But of course it's not like the end of the world for me.

Word.

Yes, that's true. We love you anyway. In fact, more so if you have flaws enough to keep us busy. With our mental lint rollers and logical Lysol. (Just kidding! )

I think I'd better stop reading. I'll be too afraid to post.

My husband has Mercury in Virgo, and he also doesn't care even remotely about whether or not people pronounce words correctly, spelling, etc.
He's a prime candidate for using made up words that grate on my nerves, actually.

His Mercury is square Saturn and trine Moon, but he has Aquarius Mars and Sag Asc, so I think that maybe balances out his Mercury.

I will admit that grammar is not my area of expertise, and I often don't pay much attention to it (seems out of character, but I guess my Pisces Sun takes the wheel when it comes to that).

Oh no no, please don't! I just thought on a Virgo pet peeves thread, I could legitimately be a little snippy.

I guess my Scorp mercury doesn't allow for gradations in 'snippiness' (if that's a word) and it comes out a lot sharper than intended.

All in good fun.

No, don't do that!

It really is all in good fun!

I'm fairly lenient, it's just that there are certain words that just...do that for me.

I mean...I annoy myself with how many emojis I use. I think that's just the way of the Virgo influenced thought process.

@ Faith

I hope we didn't scare you off, too?

I'm sure that my husband does not appreciate my incessant corrections regarding pronunciation, so I can only imagine what it's like to be married to us, lol.

But hey, when we clean the house it sparkles, and we're good teachers when the kids take an interest in spelling, right?

We also keep all of the puzzle pieces in the right boxes.

I'm hoping they've just gone on a tea break.

But Violets, thanks for this thread - here, we get to be weird borderline-OCD freaks about *words* of all things. Where else can we do that?

I'm glad some people are enjoying it! It was just making me laugh this morning (mostly at myself), so I started a thread.

Mercury Rx is coming back to conjunct my Mars again, so perhaps I should have taken that into consideration.

I don't know what the starving kids in Africa has to do with this, but okay. LMAO!!

I'm not at all Virgo , but I must say
Words like "Wow" upset me. Mostly because when I use that word, I am judging someone in a negative way.

Also "wtf" when used inappropriately comes off at rude.

It does, on a MUCH deeeper level. That's 8H Scorp mercury humour.

'Wow' is a pet peeve of yours? Really? Wow.

Oh! Good!

I don't want to say things like "moist pound cake" and get everyone worked up so that they hate me.

My Virgo heavy friend is constantly correcting people's grammar and wording.

He particularly despises the phrases "It's all good" or "I'm good" in response to asking someone if they want something.

He also really hates the phrase "It is what it is."

He will get into days long or weeks long arguments about little things. One recent was whether or not this girl's name should be spelled with an umlaut or not, then over what an umlaut actually is, and he ended up bringing his dictionary into work to settle it. Everyone knows he's like this so I'm pretty sure she just kept it going to tease him and drive him a little bonkers

Oh, no.
I'm absolutely guilty of using all of those on a regular basis.

I'm Venus Virgo, I'm not bothered by any word as far as I can think now, besides some filler words, but sounds? That's another story. I can't stand the chewing sound and dogs licking their parts, I just can't. Once I hear the sound, the world stops, and all I can think about is that horrible noise, it awakens my most violent instincts, not joking.
