*nods in agreement* And this kind of behavior worries me because it reminds me of Elliot Rodger.

Which is why I walked away from this thread once already.Everything in your reply applies to him, too. I fail to understand why you're defending someone who was disrespectful, offensive and at certain points, yes, abusive.
You edited out a comment that was going to escalate big time a fight bt you two, you edited it but I read it. I don't think you called him names but it was an extremely emotionally reactive response and bc I was talking about positive communication techniques you changed your approach and started acting really mature after and since. It takes two to fight and if you don't like someone's behavior is better to ignore consistently. If you react you are feeding the troll and losing control and composure. People who escalate fights are part of the problem too IMO but they tend to be too self righteous to see that and own up to their part hiding under labels such as feminism. Last, he likes to push people's buttons, that is very different from being abusive. Its crystal clear to me he likes to push buttons. These days everything is abuse. In the mean I know someone who was severely abused and raped for 2 weeks straight at age of 8 who calls people that would call what you are calling abuse coincidentally whiners and would get upset at them. Disagree. And it's not "PC" to try to change the status quo. What is so terrible about asking people to be less sexist and less bigoted? It seems that most people have grown up this way and are brainwashed to the extent that they don't even really when they are being sexist, racist, or bigoted. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

I seriously don't understand how some of the people responding here have no clue that their comments are entirely applicable to themselves. IP: Logged |

I only saw him call names with this individual woman. Otherwise he used "people" (both sexes unless I'm missing something). This is just some deep issues coming to the surface from you all. Seriously. Your comment suggests that this is the society that you feel exists around you. "Changing the status quo" So I doubt that all of this anger is just from or at Leo-Dave. Oh no, several of you are just hiding in the bushes waiting for someone to slip with the wrong words so that you can let out YOUR personal frustration. Looking for loopholes in what they say so that you have your excuse to unload. He vented on Virgo on it hit some people in the feels. Now we have all of this sideshow crap so you all feel like you have legitimate excuses to be angry. I'm seeing a pattern of the same members getting offended a lot about a variety of topics. Whether feminism, sex, sexual orientation, race, etc. The same members come busting in, offended and crying injustice or etc. Guaranteed, these members will be there, with a legitimate or fictitious excuse to be butthurt already preloaded. That's my little take on that for ya. IP: Logged |

I did not delete my comment because of anything you said. I deleted my comment because I knew it would engage him another emotional debate, and also because I didn't want to drag myself into that kind of debate, either. I made that decision a whole 2-3 minutes before I even read your comment. The only person here who has been feeding a troll is you. From his very first offensive comment, you've sided with him. I think you even quoted one of his offensive comments with a joke and compliment. Your actions here haven't been all that great, either. IP: Logged |

Would you like me to post a definition for verbal abuse? Because his actions definitely qualify as such.

I don't understand what's going on here, is there a transit? People come here all the time and bash an entire sign for some failure they had or think they have and they are made fun of duh! for good reasons. Or someone comes along and spouts sexist or other verbal abuse remarks and someone reacts sooner and later. For good reasons. Or someone starts calling b.itch this b.itch that and a moderator would step in and say something...usually the right thing, I think? if not, a user would say, hey, watch your mouth. It's pretty standard. For all the reasons I mentioned, people have a right to be angry and they will be. So what's the problem here? Why does it mean those people are frustrated or have issues? I'm seeing patterns of the same members. That's what I'm saying. The majority of LL doesn't seem so sensitive. It's like those things on Facebook. Find the "m". NnnnnnnnnnnnmnnnnnnnnnnnI think I found it. It's like something that was said by senior management about a worker who always had complaints. "When the complaints follow this individual around wherever they go. It's time to look at that individual instead." While being sensitive to some things is normal, I'm seeing abnormal sensitivity. So where's the problem with that? Are the offended always correct? Gosh I hope not. Calling someone a name here, that's different. He didn't do that in his original post. Anyway, I'm done. It's a pointless argument and I'm expecting that this will be closed shortly. Hopefully. Put this pathetic thing out of it's misery. There's not going to be an end until it's closed. Maybe I'll alert Randall do that we can move on. Bye. IP: Logged |
