Do you relate at all to the descriptions for Pisces moons?

Do you consider yourself empathic, intuitive, imaginative?

Do you daydream a lot?

Feel others' pain?

This question relates to Vedic astrology but mods, please do NOT transfer this thread to the Vedic Astrology subforum as it's more a question of how flexible the Western signs can be.

Maybe our Western descriptions ought to try and integrate the characteristics that Vedic is picking up on?

Maybe there is some middle ground...I'm trying to wrap my head around this.

Thanks for your reply! More to say later but...

Don't the Vedic astroligers operate more with the Nakshatras than whole sign descriptions?

I have no idea. I was just looking at KRS channel's video on Aquarius Moons, cuz that's my Vedic moon sign...and I thought, "But really? Aries moons = Pisces moons?"

LOL I think my Nakshatra says I'm cruel, wicked, deceptive, crafty, plaqued with problems. Why not just die now?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nakshatras

Thanks for your observations about the different ways that empathy can be expressed. True, it doesn't belong to one sign only. God how awful that your dog got poisioned...I don't blame you for wanting to take revenge!! Then again I, as a Pisces moon, would also probably want to seek revenge in that situation...but I don't ascribe that to my moon (even though it is cruel and wicked)...I'd pin that on my sun-Pluto-Mars triangle.

I think part of the confusion around Vedic vs. Tropical comes from incorrect applications of interpretations regardless of the other system's principles.

Thank you ~ I'll keep this in mind.

But that would be such a Pisces Moon way of coping (j/k of course).

You are wonderful.

I'm so sucky I don't even get a description like that.

Pardon me while I go put some hexes on random people for slighting me, grow warts on my nose, and indulge myself in my third whole cake today, while weeping about my problems.

LOL thank God I wasn't born in India...I mean no wonder these people get depressed, if that's what others are saying about them!

quote:
Does not really sound like a Western Pisces Moon description though, does it, even though Meena is Pisces? That Nakshatra description sounds more like Leo/Sag/Aries mixed with some Aqua... which is why I think one must use every system separately, as intended.

I know one Aries moon who gets on my nerves (friend's boyfriend) and I just bristle at some of those attributes being ascribed to him...spotless heart? Doesn't give trouble to others? Are they kidding me???

But he really embodies the worst of Aries moon stereotypes...could be something else in his chart, however.

ETA: Forgot to say, yes...true...that's not like a Western description for Pisces moon.

Vedic and Western are too different systems, they can`t be simply put onto one another though some people do that and then do away with one or the other because it does not work (of course it does not work, it is a different system!).

BTW my Moon Nakshatra is Dhanishta

Well said. I need to just look at one system at a time.

Lucky you:

quote:
Deva (godly) nakshatras are Ashwini, Mrigashirsha, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Revati.

Human nakshatras are Bharani, Rohini, Ardra, Shravana and all the Purva and Uttara Nakshatras.

Rakshasa (demon) nakshatras are Krittika, Ashlesha, Magha, Chitra, Vishakha, Jyestha, Mula, Dhanistha, Shatabhishak.

But there there, don't worry about being a demon...

quote:
However we have to keep in mind that devas are not necessarily good and demons are not necessarily bad. In fact they both have their role in creation to play and are equally important.

If there were no demons, it would be impossible to deal with our karmic problems.

http://www.dirah.org/nakshatras.htm

See? Everyone has their special role to play.

@Vajra

quote:
after many years of observing and training, am now at a point where I think that I would be able to deal out a measured treatment carefully designed to teach the person a most valuable lesson, but not go overboard with it, and do this with a relatively calm mind.

I really admire this.

It's also fascinating to me how differently our minds work...whenever I've thought of revenge, it was mere shooting, like a quick and painless execution. "Bye, you are gone from this world! Serves you right though!" Never derived pleasure from thinking of blood (no blood please) or their twitching half-dead bodies and pleas for help (I'd already be gone). Essentially I was just thinking of annihilation, and that was only when presented with hypothetical questions like, "What would you do if someone captured and tortured your child?" Answer: That person would die. Though I'm not so sure anymore what would happen.

And in my dreams I am almost never fighting or doing harm.

quote:
And you are really sooo funny, do you even realize that?

Hehe well the funny thing is, Pisces moons are said to be shapeshifting, and it really is true. I was told that I am an evil witch and my mind starting churning up thoughts like, "Really? Did I miss my calling? Where do I begin? " So impressionable.

quote:
See? We understand your plight better than you think, even if we can't quite share the burden)

Aw!

quote:
But is it the same Nakshatra for sure? Where is his Aries Moon?

1° Aries

I was under the impression that with the Moon, one would look up the Nakshatra and therefore, there are several possibilities for a Western Aries Moon (mine's Uttara Bhādrapadā of Meena (=Pisces) if I remember correctly).

Aries Moon (Western) is action-oriented, which is where I see the greatest difference to Western Pisces Moon. As for me personally, I was such a daydreamer in my youth as to annoy a lot of people, 'head in the clouds- type-person' but that could be H1 Neptune tr. Moon at work too. Creativity is a keyword for Aries and those Mooners are often imaginative, artistic people. They can be as empathetic as anyone, depending mostly on their early experiences and other influences I guess (as I don't buy that theory that eg. Water Moons are per default more empathetic than the others, as I've seen far too many who weren't, and have met far too many extremely empathetic Air Mooners, for example).

The main difference about "feeling the suffering" of others would be how they deal with it IMO. Pisces might feel prompted to cry with them, while Aries might get into a rage of righteous indignation, and after comforting them, pick up their sword and attack whoever might have caused the unhappiness. In other words, different reactions, but not necessarily different levels of empathy. In fact some memories of tortured animals or humans that I've seen since childhood stay with me as fresh as ever, hurting just like back then, that I sometimes try to shield myself from more exposure to footage of suffering that I have no way to influence or prevent. And you may pray to God for me, if you want, that I'll never get to lay my hands on that wretched person who poisoned my dog when I was ten, because I might end up with a life sentence after I'm finished with them.

*ETA* Speaking just for myself, I think I may be much less able than Pisces Mooners to empathize with grown-ups who caused their own problems though, and I definitely rate some types of problems as more deserving of sympathy than others. It's a warrior mindset, and part of it is prioritizing problems and allocating resources efficiently, and that precludes babying grown-ups.

Bottom line: Don't come to your typical Aries Mooner if you need a shoulder to cry on for longer than 30 minutes (though in exceptional cases that would not apply, and I've been there for quite a few people much longer than that in times of severe grief and sorrow). But trust them to take decisive action for you any time, because that what they're here for.

(As usual, only talking about the placement itself unmodified by other chart factors).

Vaija,

I have the same Nakshatra and I can relate.

Faith,

Words like empathic, intuitive, imaginative are thrown around a lot.

And I would wholeheartedly agree with what Vaija says about empathy as a quality of all moon signs.

An Aries moon does not escape. It faces things head-on. That is the biggest difference.
In situations where a Pisces moon might respond with white lies, omission of details, delaying the resolution to a future due date, an Aries moon will bluntly state the facts, get it over with and move on. If you are hurt by what they say, they figure you will get over it (the way they do). I think this is where Pisces moon appears to be more empathetic, less selfish or what not.

Since Aries moon has a need for immediate action/resolution, it almost seems like natives with this position do not dwell on one situation for too long; If they have to, then the situation tends to be very serious.

on to your Vedic question, I think you have to look at the whole chart because the moon shines by reflecting the lights of the sun.

in Vedic, I have Capricorn Sun, Aries rising, and Uttara Bhādrapadā Nakshatra for moon.

So my moon-sun combination in Vedic actually sounds like the Aquarius sun-Aries moon description in western. If I just look at the moon descriptions alone I would be very confused.

YES to all, but my Moon is squared Neptune. I feel more like a Pisces moon than an Aries moon.. But I guess I wouldn't really know.

Vajra,

your daughter and bf have a MOonconjunction? Wow! sounds nice, actually now thinking about it my best friend`s husband and me have a Moon-Moon-conjunction at 2 degrees, and we kind of simply "get" each other.

Faith,

Demons are closest to the instinctive sphere, a little rought around the edges, but hey diamonds, right?

I think mr Sag is a Demon, too. Well you know how I mean. His Nakshatra is Mula.

My Vedic moon is Scorpio and that's my mans Vedic Sun
Whoopdeedoo! 😍
I don't like how there's a million nakshtras. I'm fine with just 12 signs.. But this ones different sooooo

Yeaaaahh
People don't behave like their Tropical charts
Because let's look at the reality of this situation

We are constantly learning and expanding our conciousness with new experiences
And what we choose to hold on to and act upon
How we ultimately end up in the grand sheme of things

That's who we are
Not how we acted yesterday or today

I think I see your Aquarius Moon way more than your Capricorn/Pisces or Gemini Mars. The only thing I did notice was Capricorn of you was your sense of style and that's because it's very bland and dull and simple. Which to me bores me lol

But it could be your Mercury Conjunct Uranus.. This is the Internet after all and this is us communicating. O_o

Oops, poor you, you didn't read the whole thread or you would know I'm a cruel witch who gets even with the people who insult me.

Mwuhahahahhahahahhaa!!!

No but seriously (cuz I was kidding) I just watched this video:

Moon in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra pada 1 in Vedic Astrology (Moon in Aquarius)

It does sound like me, and it's mostly non-evil traits.

It's also funny how everytime I have a disagreement with one of them, the other will unquestioningly take the other's side, and never mine!

Awww

I'm heading out but thank you everyone for the replies!

I'm learning a lot, honestly!

ETA: Oops, Vajra, I meant to tell you that my friend's Aries moon boyfriend isn't ALL bad. The only reason I know his moon's degree is because he amiably fetched his birth certificate for my friend so I could do a reading for them! It's just other things that have made me grit my teeth.

Oh no need to watch!

But I wanted to show people that KRS does do videos that specific! Not sure if he's done every single pada but you might like to see if he's done yours.
